Hey, Mr. Persistence, I can't say I blame you for your outburst and I have no intention of punishing you at the moment, but watch the language a little, please.

I think I know what the problem is. You need to have the .NET Framework installed, like it says just under the link for the download. Did you install the .NET Framework?

Thanx anyway ARWIN, I don't have the 2.75 HOURS necessary to download or the available disk space for the Net Software.

BTW: WELCOME TO THE FORUM !!! It's so great to have a new member who contributes something worthwhile as opposed to the unusally high number of "Spamming" specialists we've attracted lately!!!...UB57

That's a shame ... re the download, there are always magazines out there that come with discs containing the .NET Framework distr. That's a good way of getting it if you're not broadbanded. A friend with a CD burner is also a nice option. ;-)

I chose the .NET as I was having cross platform compatibility problems and this makes all machines alike to a programmer who uses it, be they '98, ME, 2000 or XP.

Might make a light version at some point that just generates a html file with all the info or something, I'll keep it in mind.

Oh and thanks for the welcome. ;-)

I've downloaded the No image files, and run it. I get an "Application has failed to initialize properly" error. I'm running Windows XP.

Could this problem arise from anything other than .NET Framework? I'm trying to avoid downloading the file.

Thanks

AO

Well, on XP it's not always necessary to install .NET as it comes with a .NET version default, but if your XP is a bit older you may still need it. In your case it looks like it. I tested the no images version again here and it works fine, so it's probably just a matter of installing the .NET Framework. Like I said below, you could just go out there and buy a PC mag that has the .NET Framework distr. on a cover CD.

I've downloaded and installed the .net software.

Works like a charm.

Now if you'd like a few replays to work from, I've got a 5 meg zip file of sps and xps replays. All total, 229 races.

I can drop you a PM with a link to them if you'd like them.

UB57:
harboring a guess that you've got more than a few replays, I'd highly suggest making the room for the software. Slick set-up.

Glad to hear there's another happy user. :) Yes, the link option in a PM would be perfect, thanks!

*Cough* that would require someone to reprogram the entire GT3 engine to run on an x86 style processor. That would be hard, but then you have the issue of all the different 3D cards and chipsets that you would need to utilise.

Or you could just go and buy a TV card and record replays that way. :D

Oh and nice looking proggie you got their Arwin, although I can't use it mainly because im too lazy to download the .net framework bit.

@RI: I've had that question a couple of times already ... Answer you gave is correct of course, though it'll be more likely that someone makes a PS2 emulator first, which will then probably work as good as Bleem! did (which wasn't half bad, but it's never the real thing).

@Lotus: Thanks for the files. I know now what the "not found" message means - it's a message I give when a car can't be found, and it's because there are non-GT3 replays in there. It doesn't have a function to exclude non-GT3 files yet, it just filters out xport/sharkport/ems files by extension. The 00:00:000's are all licences - I'm sure certain problems are due to the replay browser not handling GTC files. I'll probably be adding the GTC markers and I think I've already located the GT version field so I'll handle them more properly soon.

I just noticed yesterday that the Garage Editor (MKs) doesn't read GTC replay files, so I'll add full support for that asap. I think I'll also make a little website for this program where I can store FAQs etc.

MK opens my GTC replays just fine.
Same way as it opens GT3 replays...

Are you talking about real Replay files or Garage files? I had a bunch of GTC replay files that v38 couldn't open yesterday. It says "game not found". No best laps, race replays, or settings (doesn't do GT3 settings either), just tested this again.

Or wait, it has a command-line feature, perhaps if I use that to set GTC data it will recognise the replays.

Right, that's it. My bad. Still no settings though but that was to be expected as it doesn't read GT3 settings either.

Arwin .. I had an idea, don't know if it's a stupid one though, it was just a thought ...

Would it be possible to have a feature that reads what date the save was originally made ?

That could be quite handy

I cant' get this program to load to save my family. I even DL'ed the .NET thingamajig.

Yes, I'm a complete idiot when it comes to computers. :embarrassed:

Help please. I need instructions that a 10 year old could follow.

I'm running XP.

I cant' get this program to load to save my family? Now there's something I can't make sense of!

first question: did you start the program 'RManager.exe' in the 'bin' folder in the location where you extracted the program to?

Will do, whenever I find it's location. Didn't manage to find it yet. I am making good progress with the GTC stuff though - got the cars in. Don't know if everybody knows this but all the cars in GT3 are also in GTC. They have identical specs and settings, except a different code for the ASM part of the car, but that's it. And if you've got an x-port you can even edit your garage so that you can drive any car from GT3 in GTC.

Also, GTC has just become a budget title ... :D

Cool! I didn't know that you could use GT3 cars in GTC , will have to look into that :D also about time they knocked the price down for it ... could do with another copy, get the I-link going between me and P :mischievous:

All I did was this....

D/L the files to my desktop.

Clicked the .NET thingy first and it didn't look like it was doing much but something happened I don't know

Then I extracted the Bin folder to my desktop

Clicked into the bin folder and saw loads of icons and 2 other folders ...

Found the application icon called RManager and clicked that!

That was that, it worked for me :D Simple :P

:D Yeah, it's iLink option is quite cool as at least now you can watch the replay!

I've been looking into this - if you iLink it should be possible to drive 5 different NSXs, so that means each player out of five could have his or her own NSX (Arta, Loctite, Castrol, Raybrig, Mobil) and the same goes for the Supra (au, Tom's 00, Tom's 01, Esso, Sard). Is that cool or what? :D Hopefully we can try this the 27th, when we hold our next iLink event in the Netherlands - four of us already have a copy of GTC and for this price we can get us another one. ;)

Install the .net thingie first

Small update:

- Added the carnames for the GTC cars, so now all cars are recognised for both GT3 and GTC replays. This also means you can read GTC settings files.
- It's kind of a 'hidden' feature, but if you double click in the right area on the Car Details view, you get a little surprise. :D Let's see who finds it first. ;)

GTC parts & upgrades still have to come. I'm also planning a little tool that can show you which car you've put in which slot in the GTC garage, identifying the slot by it's original carname, so you can quickly find the right car if you've been toying around with your GTC garage. May do the same for the GT3 garage.

When I've added the GTC parts, I'll be adding some compare features.
