GT4 Bugs

So, at Nuerburgring, when starting a race (you´re watching the cars approaching the start), every car(including my precious!!) squeezes their right side at the wall in the corner just before the starting line.
This feature has annoyed me from the day one, I started racing at the green hell. Not a big problem, but still, every race starts with a crash. 👎

Yeah, its odd that this happens, but at least it happens before the race starts.
Try Enthusia, and you'll basically see all of the AI cars have a huge pile-up at the first left hander on the Nurburgring (and this is after a standing start from the grid no less). It is absolutely the most ridiculous thing that I have ever seen in a racing game.

I've noticed that during the Sarthe II 24h enduro that everytime I pit and I don't select OK, the rear end of my car (Stage 4 Turbo Minolta-Toyota) bobs up in the air. When pitwork starts by itself, it goes back down.

hey guys

i have a serious bug and i have no idea what to do about it! the loading screen hangs up after races or after replays. the crazy thing is that the circle below the GT sign or below the two stripes that indicates the loading process by circling is RED! this is no screen/tv/cable/ps2 color thing because the gt lettersign or stripe logo always keeps its normal color (white or blue and red) it is always red when it locks up. how crazy is that? the thing is the frequency this happens is increasing! especially bad when in a race series. i have 58.0% and theres more than 2MB of space on the memory card. i have the pal version and never had any serious bugs appear previously. does anyone have any clue??
it's called the search butten, there has been at least 20 threads made about it.

Yeah, that's even worse.

Well in GT4, the horsepower for my cars never stays the same. Every time I see it, it's either says it's a few HP higher or a few lower...

i think thats been mentioned before but still, i cant believe that it was overlooked into production, its a pretty major flaw.

CBR250RR
i have the PAL version

and have had NO problems/annoyances untill now

im stuck on 99.8% with everything completed and yes ive checked and rechecked everything
Same problem overhere. Won all gold medals, double checked everything, but the game stucked on 99,8 % :grumpy:

I have PAL version .... still trying to solve this bug.

letting me know this nice of you was. around me though the dark forces are master. unrewarding my search for 'search butten problem' was. help me you can yes?:)

Got a boring problem.

My Ruf Porsche Yellow Bird just has no sound when u are in the onboard camera looking ahead. That sounds strange because when i press L1 and look to back/rear of the car, the sound is loud and normal, but, when i am in original onboard view, there´s no sound!!

I am sad to this as i love this car.

I had already tried to change sounds settings in the game and also in my sound setup. But nothing changes.

I've had this happen on a few other cars, including the GT Formula '04. There is no engine sound inside the car but you can hear the "outside" sound from the inside (the tunnel effect). Every now and then the sound will kick in but then it goes away after a second or two. That's happened to me with the F1 and the Yellow Bird as reported here. I've had the Yellow Bird sound stay on for laps at a time but not the F1.

anyone seen the camber angle of the back wheels on the Shelby Series 1, in the American hall Stars & Stripes events?

 they must be at about 10 degrees

I can't run practice laps in my RUF CTR2. I get this wierd thing that is half B-Spec and half A-Spec and the car just runs straight into a wall no matter what I do.

Also, you can end up completing against the BMW M Coupe in the Euro Hot Hatch competition and the Schwarzwald I, but the game won't let you enter it in either.

Also, not really a bug but a facts error, I know from experience that the gearing on the SRT-4 is wrong.

How I wish I had read through this thread.

I'm now sitting at 34.8% with 3 cars, and 300K+ in the bank. Why, oh why did PD not let us make a back-up save of our game?

Its taken 15 months to get 1/3 of the way through this game, and now there's no really desire to finish this game. I'll shelve it till GT5, unless someone has a sharkportable NTSC/US game save with missions done, licenses set, and no enduros done.

Damn.

I'm impatiant so I didn't search all the way through this thread for it but...
Screen does that shakey thing during races every now and again (during races, not replays)

M-B SL65 AMG: right rear tail light has a bulb "Burnt out", as is evident on night courses.

Okay, so I'm a cheater, but...
When you use the Action Replay Max to get all medals, it does not get the first special mission medal, and it becomes unobtainable, making it impossible to get 100%.

I dont know if this has happend to anyone, maybe its just my PS2 (the old fat one), but I did one of the enduros last night and the little loading thingy that spins turned RED!!!.....it stayed that way for like 5 minutes!!... I then opened up the tray blew some air on my disc and re-insterted it and the red spinning thingy turned white again....whats up with that! has that happen to anyone????

Here we go.
NTSC version with a red FGT on Circuit de la Sarthe I in GT mode, in a practive everytime on my second lap, in A or B spec mode just before the second turn on the stright away (before the V starts, the second C shaped one) the car flys to its left and gets stuck on the wall continualy reving. it does this for one or two seconds then i/bob am able to fix it.
just weird.

@scoobyonline: Im almost positive that it has been posted before in this thread. It happens to heaps of people unfortunately. Are you saying that you took out the disc whilst the game was frozen, put it back in and continued to play without resetting?.. Coz if so then thats news to me.

The 98.2% glitch in gt2 is'nt a glitch you need to complete each race in event synsizer (begginer, intermediate, hard, expert) once to get 100% eveen though not gold thropies come up.

Like a few others have said, the camber on the Shelby looks stupid but is'nt a glitch.

No it's the 90% glitch, that's not stopping you from vompleting the game, the early versions of GT2 couldn't be completed presumably because PD removed an event or two and didnt compensate in the percent complete statistic, however the 90% complete glithch is simply a glitch, when you get to 90% it won't go any higher until you've actually hit 10%, so you won't see 90.2% or 90.5% etc. But not everyone with GT23 can actually reach 100% because the completeion percentage give by the events in their build doesn't add up.

just change the sound to mono and it should resolve the problem

Uh... with cars like the Ruf that have a rear engine it's only natural to hear the sound better when looking backwards because you're facing the engine, and that's where the noise is coming from. When you're facing forward in a rear engine car all the noise from the engine will be behind you. That's why you don't hear it the same way as you do with front engined cars. Take note the next time you run a rear engined car... the wind noise will increase with speed to the point the engine is drowned out. Whether or not this is true to real life I don't know, I've not been fortunate enough to tool around in a Ruf or anything rear engined for that matter. But, if you're playing GT4 on a nice surround stereo system I think it sounds pretty realistic :D

As for the red tach showing up on a GT4 loading screen, that's most likely NOT a game bug, but the dreaded PS2 disc read error that shows up over time. Do a google search for PS2 disc read error fix and you'll find all the info you could ever want on it.

Yeah but there's a problem when you play GT4 in stereo on a TV that only has momo speakers, the way the sound channles from the in car view, if it' a car where the engine is behind you. you can really struggle to hear the engine, if at all regardless of wind noise. If your TV is mono only set the sound in GT4 to mono or you'll have sound problems with noises coming from behind your camera position. Wind noise will eventually drown out any car engine noises at certain speeds front, mid or rear engined.
