GT4 Bugs

i found a mad one i went through the wall of the gymkhana course i was being a bit retarded doing a burnout in the corner pushed up to the wall and i went through it and i ended up driving behind the white building. when u set off its the corner behind the car.

go on the gymkhana course and take the tcs off go to the bottom left corner theres a gap in the fence keep pushing on it at full revs for a min or so you will go through it and be able to drive behind the white building.if it shoves you back out try again it works.

Okay, I think I found a new glitch. I've searched but can't find anyone else who's had the same problem.

I just won the Toyota 7 Race car...

... but I can't drive it in A-Spec!

So far, I've gone to about 4 different Practice sessions, and each time I start (making sure I'm starting it in A-Spec mode), it defaults into B-spec mode... and just does nothing. The car starts off at 50-60mph, then the race starts, and the B-spec driver doesn't do anything, he just coasts straight forward until he hits a wall, and stays there.

I even tried this in Gymkhana, where there is no B-spec mode, and it did the same thing.

Anyone else have this problem?

I'd love to keep this car, but if I can't drive it, I'm just gonna sell it. And it was for winning 25 Driving Mission events, so once I sell it, I'll never get it back!

If you aren't worried about using it to further your career in GT Mode, it should be available in Arcade mode now that you've earned it.

I bought that Spoon Civic Type R...

Its all white, excpet it has a black hood...

But when I race it, (I race with it on hood view) the hood is solid white, its not black...

I just noticed it today...

False alarm. Reset the system and haven't had the problem reoccur.

I don't doubt that my PS2 needs some minor maintenance, such as cleaning. Not to take this thread off-topic, but are there any special procedures for cleaning it?

You can take a cue-tip, and put a drop of cleaning alchohol on it and then open up your ps2, find the laser lense...and gently rub the lense to clean it.

Also while you have your ps2 cracked open, you can use one of those air cans to spray out all the dust.

That breaks the warranty though...

i have a problem in my pal gt4 .. in arcade mode, player 2 cannot use nitrous, when i go to controller option in player 2 option i can't assign a button to the special which is n2o .... any 1 knows a way to get around this??

Can player 1 even use nitrous in 2 player mode? I thought that 2 player mode only used the stock cars (unmodified) and as no cars come stock with nitrous, neither player should be able to use it.

I do not have a second controller, so cannot test it for myself.

On the Ford Taurus SHO, the colors are mixed up. When it says the color is "white", it is actually silver, and when it says that it is silver, it is actually chestnut.

Actually, 2-player is the only mode that can use garage cars in arcade mode. I don't know about nitrous though

Simple bugs:

AU/PAL GT4 original.

I get a few red loading screens. nothing i can do about it, besides skip those races. I think they are over in the european section.

Also, i have a bug in Arcade mode, I can not pass the track Infirion (SP?) I can use the 5 or so tracks before it, just not after it or else it will freeze. I assume all 'Original Tracks' 'Dirt & Snow' plus 'City' work. Or atleast display all the tracks.

I just noticed this a few days ago, but when i drive in a city course and look in the rear view mirror (i use the bumper cam) the buildings in the city are not there. But when i switch views or look behind me they are there.

I haven't posted in this thread for nearly 15 months. My gt4's ****ed, so i can't get into gt mode. There is a lot of bugs been discovered in the last year. :scared:

PD does this just to reduce the total polygon count, if the mirror is used.

Cheers,

MasterGT

dont know whether anyone has already said this, and its not really a bug, but have you all noticed the HUUUUUUGE tree on Trail Mountain? its on the outside of the left hand turn after the long straight that goes under all the trees! ;)

when loading the dial that spins sometimes turns red and stay red...eject the game and the disc will still read and reloads to the next screen

that's not a bug...that's something wrong with your lens in the playstation itself. Or perhaps your disc is scratched. I had to buy a brand-new Platinum disc to remedy this, hopefully all you need to do is buy a CD cleaner.

Has anyone experience winning a race with a car easily and then come back to race again with the same car and not be able to win as before ?

I'm wondering if this is the same sort of problem that I have been having, We were tearing up the 100,000 tournament race in Japan (I believe) and went back after doing some other races with different cars, came back and NONE of the cars we have will win it like we were able to before. the cars now slide off the track as if they have no steering anymore and they were NOT doing that before, we were able to go full throttle around most the turns and now we cant even stay on the track and the other cars fly around the corner with no problem. I don't want to restart GT4 all over AGAIN, I guess I got to get another one or even 2 more memory cards that Sony OVER CHARGES everyone for (think about it.... 8MB = $20, hmmm a 1GB SD card = $10 ... hummmmm let me think about it, NO)
Has anyone else had this happen to them?, I searched the forum but I guess it's hard to pin down the exact wording or it is just my system I guess.

Try the PD F1 car at the Sarthe II race in B Spec Mode. It slaughters the competition until it gets a bump steer just before the bend and after the second chicane.

When it gets that bump steer it goes slams into the left hand barriers and screeches there until all 5 opponents pass it.

Similar, on the Super Speedway, B Spec any high power car and see them slamming into the right hand wall go screeching their tyres into ash at the tight corner.

Anyone else noticed it ??

Best

ok... this is not my answer then.
Let me try and explain once more, your racing through all the races and finally get a good car (the first red white and blue Subaru race car) you go to the 75,000 Dealer race and win it with ease no problem, taking corners like a champ and all, so then moving to the 100,000 race in Japan events doing the same thing winning with ease flying around the track passing up everyone from the start taking tunrs at full speed without hitting walls breaking real good to take sharp turns etc....
so then we go to when some other events that you can't use that in but later come back to race though events to win more money and all of a freakin sudden the car handles like crap, barely keeps up with them, can't turn, and cant break ! ... WTF gives here is this not the "BUMp STEER" just mentioned ?

No bump steering is a real life situation. any obstacle on the road disturbs the stability of the steering system and causes it to turn whichever side the weight is transfered at that moment. (Remember hitting a rock on the road and having a wipe out on your bike or skateboard ?)

You get that while racing yourself in a real fast car. (To have to keep correcting the line the car goes right ?)

But the AI in B Spec does not do the correction and the sucker goes slams into the barriers and gets stuck. This is what I was trying to report as a bug.

Your case sounds like worn tyres or wrong suspension set up if you fiddled with them.

I'd suggest you go into setup and click "default" and drive afterwards.

Laters ;)

This happened with ALL the cars I could win that race with easily. sure its real life if you break your suspension, but not to make your car slower big time, we tried doing everything and the only thing that worked was starting the game over again, and then after a certain point ALL the cars get this symptom. some people may not notice and think that they are racing harder but I know for sure I could take certain corners at full speed and even pass. now its like they are blasting around the corner while you have to slow down to a ridiculous speed and the car still slide into the wall, it's better if you ride the wall at full speed but how real is that ? and they still are faster. every time you restart your tires are new and this happens right from the start, I guess I'll have to set my DVD recorder up and do a before and after to prove this but I hate having to do the license again but now that I got more of those GIANT memory cards that are worth every penny (NOT!) I can save the license on one, then do a back up on another (only if it races like it was) and race on the last card.
It may be awhile before I get to do this things are busy around here now.
The first Subaru race car you win (red, white and blue) should KILL the 75,000 dealer race and the 100,000 japan events race EVERY TIME but something is rotten in Denmark.

It still sounds like you've driven your car to the ground and the chassis is practically dead. The symptoms are exactly the same. Have you refreshed it? If you did, did you actually refresh it or did you just apply the rollcage and ruin your car? Have you changed the oils? Stupid questions but sometimes they are the correct ones.

This happened with EVERY car that could win them races, the Subaru is completely unmodified so it should not be any different unless ALL these cars are complete JUNK now because it has 50 more miles on it, I haven't applied a roll cage to ANY car I've got. and this was an immediate change, not a gradual thing that would happen in real life to a car. changed oil, got car wash, waxed and buffed the bugs off the front bumper myself :dopey:
Even the crappy cars act worse than they did before this symptom appeared.
if the game automatically does this after a certain "Time" or "day" to everyone I can under stand it is a "level" thing they programmed but this doesn't seem to be noticeable with anyone else so far so it might be my disc copy. I bought it some time ago but my PS2 wouldn't play it till we cleaned it so I can't take it back unless I do a wally mart trade.
