GT4 Bugs

It's because in real life, that car has an automatic transmission. A number of other cars do that as well. It's realistic, but unnecessary.

I haven't seen that tachometer bug before, but I'll buy the cars mentioned and I'll see if the bugs work 👍

It's a lot simpler if you just go to Arcade mode and race in one of the JGTC cars. You'll most likely get a full field of JGTC's (if the M3 GTR Race Car comes in, select again). Then in the replay mode, constantly keep on switching cars and the tachometer's revline on the cars won't show.

EDIT: Also, (sorry if this has been mentioned) has anyone noticed that in the Like the Wind race (and the Like the Wind race only) that the 905 and XJR9's stats have been completely swapped around, so the Jag is the one with the ultra-slow gear changes and the 905 is one of the threats? Wonder if it was a major programming error. And I'm not sure if it happens in the NTSC versions, since my versions PAL.

Yes, that's what I tried and that's what happened.. It seems like the game is too slow and mixes up the tachometers..

Haven't noticed this yet.. I'll give it a try 👍

I have GT4 and, sadly:(, there are glitches.
Today, on my simulation mode, I was using an Audi on a track meet at Autumn Ring, and on the replay, my car drove right into the wall and stayed there.
And the screen jutters.:nervous::nervous::(

EDIT:I have no idea why I posted this:sly:

Then the loading screen pops out with the GT logo and the clock, and i'm waiting, waiting and waiting for 30 min and NOTHING!!! I restarted the PS2 and won the GTWC again with a difrent car and this time when the screen pops out and says that you can watch the ending movie i press CANCEL and the same thing hapens!
Can Somebody help me with this ? :nervous:

Today, I found this:
10082009132.jpg

I guess that it doesn't need any explication.

Other bug, is that in the game it shows mph, but is kph, or vice-versa
To do this, is very simple.
1. Go to any race
2. Go in to the options
3. If you have in mph, change it to kph.
4. Now go in to the race you entered.
5. In the bumper view, the speed is in mph, but in reality is in kph.

It also works in the other way around

PS: I'm sorry for any mistake.

1. go to arcade mode and choose dirt/snow tracks (or whatever it's called)

2. select a track and go to a car that can't enter the race that is next to a car that can( ex, Corvette Z06 race car next to corvette road car).

3. this step is best used with the standard ps2 controller. on the car that can't enter the race, quickly change to the car that can and immediately switch back to the first car and choose it.

4. if correct, you will choose the car that can't enter.

extra step: if you do this with a race car and a street car with multiple colors that can enter the race, you will get the color options. However, you can't make the car any other color and all other colors will be called "BMW 120d '04".

I was playing the GT championship and i tried entering with my caddish Cien but i couldn't. So i got in with my Merc SL AMG. Guess what the AI brought? A Cadillac Cien.

That's perfectly normal.GT4 ai is know for that.In my NTSC-J version, the AI in the DTm throws at me a CLK GTR almost everytime, which is why i don't use the DTM to make quick cash...

In the Penzoil Nissan Skyline race car, there is no redline in the roof and bumper view on Laguna Seca

Its another well known bug reported countless times,it has no redline on all tracks.

And btw,in the NTSC-J version of GT4,the description of the original circuits says "GRAN TUSISMO"

In used car listing, Mazda 323F is written as "Mazda Mazda 323F".
Got this bug at PAL version.

Also try to find Skyline GT-R R33 LeMans Limited version. Car power is around 300s hp without 276 limits.

Well I just want to share with you guys one thing, which I believe most of the GT4 players notice this.

I was on for a 2 laps race on the Nordschleife with my 330i and set to +10 difficulty. Before the start of the race, when the computer turns the car to the right on the last corner of the circuit, it hits the fence on the right. Just like the car accidentally turn too early. It also did the same with my M5, and Audi S4 also to nearly all of my cars. Is this actually happening only to the PAL version or also to the NTSC??

Thanks..

Check through the previous 5 or so pages of this thread,it has been mentioned countless times. It happens in all versions.

On a side note this is the main reason i don't want damage in GT5

All 6 cars do it (including yourself in b-spec, otherwise 5) just about every time in any race at the ring. No matter what car.

Yeah.. sometimes only 3 cars or less and sometimes all the cars... I hope that in GT5, there will be less of this bug..

Thanks for the response mate ;)

This is worded a little strange, but I'm thinking you mean to say the car is quoted at 276, yet has 300? This is due to what's known as the "gentlemen's agreement" various carmakers sort of agreed to in Japan. Here's more info:

http://www.caranddriver.com/news/car/05q1/japan_dumps_276-hp_pact-car_news

Actually, that article above talks about how the agreement has been unofficially dropped as of late, but you get the point.

Some cars will be quoted in GT at 276 because of this agreement, but when you view their specs, they'll have more than this. I believe 276 is more of a guideline than a set-in-stone rule, but you'll notice it's rare for any Japanese production performance models to stray too far north of 276. You'll also notice this guideline is part of the reason the Japanese were able to focus on small-engine technology to make their cars reliably quick and fuel-efficient (thru use of variable valve technology and other methods), without having to rely on absolute pure horsepower.

I finished b-specing the Nurburgring 24hr race this morning and after I exited the times/laps statistics which comes up in a table straight after the race, I got the white speedo loading screen. To my dismay this screen stayed up for 2-3 minutes until I just turned the power off, convinced that the game had frozen. However, it was not the red speedo (DRE), so what could have caused this?

When you save a photo to flash drive, it still refers to memory card during process. Seems that game saved a temporary data in the memory card.

Do you know what the first production car to go around the Nordschleife in less than 8 minutes was? A Nissan Skyline GT-R R33 V-Spec.

AGH I CAN'T STOP THOSE STUPID POPUPS

anyway I'm gonna type my TLDR version of my extremely long post since I closed my browser twice.

Anyyywhoooooozles

-Some cars seem to have no redline. (mostly JGTC cars)

-Others have a weird one (said in an earlier post)

- WHen I replay a Track Meet that I did on Motorland or beginer's course my car crashes into the wall and ties to break through. the AI Cars also seem to beat their own best laptimes that they set when I was actually racing here too.

- AIs Speedsters in the Speedster cup are on roids. they're IMPOSSIBLE TO BEAT. In either Speedster, both tuned to the max and on R5s. offers me 200 a-spec points then the AI cars proceed to blow my doors off in the straights.

- Suzuka west short course's info says "crsinfo_suzukawest" or something. Coding error?

I think that's all that I found.

I have an NTSC version of the game, and i saw multiples of all the bugs except for the replay one. can somebody confirm that this isn't just a 🤬 up game?

That's where the nitrous comes into play, or improve your driving even more. ;)
