GT4 Driving Physics

What do You think, should they use the GT3 or the GT4P Driving Physics fin the GT4 final Version ???

I love the good old GT3 Driving style đź‘Ť
I have the Pal Verson of GT4P and I dont like the Game Physics :yuck:
The Cars drive such as glazed frost :ill:
and at many Cars the Gear-Change is much to slow đź‘Ž

I think they should use the final GT4 physics which I believe is neither it's an evolution of GT4:P's. However GT4:P's physics are far better and more realistic than GT3's.

im in america and have never played gt4p but from what i understand, its liscences and arcade only (it'd almost have to be). thats why the cars shift slow...theyre stock. they gotta save something for the upgrades and whatnot in simulation. also, u might be amazed how slow humans actually shift in real life...it may seem fast to u but it really isnt.

Well, I can life without brake  but the Ford GT use narby 3 sec. to upshift in a higher Gear

And the Mercedes shift than a automatic transmission that used by Manual
maybe it is right, but ( I think ) it dont to enhance the Game-Fun

Hey, you – Can't you see the guy's from Germany? Chances are, English is his second language, so cut him some slack for corn's sake.

I prefer GT4P over GT3. In GT3 cars slided too much imo, I like the way they suddenly get grip again in GT4P, which is more realistic afaik and more of a challenge.

Regarding gear change, that's again a consequence of the shifting assistance in GT. Just push the button and GT does everything for you, even releasing the throttle and pushing it again.
If you do that in GPL, your rpm goes through the roof!
Otherwise it would be hard to simulate a street car clutch in a sim. I don't know how other games handle this. Anyone?

Is GT4 really the best simulation game-what do u think is better gt3or4 or R racing evolution..tell me what u think...
Try GPL. The original game costs almost nothing compared to GT4P, and you can download almost every imagineable track in the world, and endless graphic and sound upgrades, all for free.

You'll find out that the physics are more realistic then those in GT3 or GT4P, much harder to control the cars and satisfying when you can do so, and a lot more spectacular to see them jump, drift and slide in the replays!

I'm so confused as to who's being sarcastic right now...

Anyway, GT4 physics will be unique, just trust in PD to develop on most the promise and hype they've inadvertently let build for a few years.

GT4:P Physics do seem more realistic and better. I do like them.

Don't be dissin' Werner - check out some of his mods for various Logitech wheels - they're sensational, and he's a huge help if you have any problems.

...and I'd suggest his English is a heck of a lot better than your German.

I'm pretty sure at least 3 of those posts were just sarcastic, I understood him fine anyway - have you people heard of AOL?

I hate the old GT3 driving style, and each time I go back to GT3 from GT4 Prologue I have a harder time enjoying it. The only reason I'd voluntarily return to GT3 now is to drive an old track (like a friend you haven't seen for a while) or for iLink. Otherwise, I really, really, really love Prologue's steering and car behaviour, especially on Street tires and with no assists. Pure bliss. Can't wait for November.

I actually prefer GT3 handling. I play with a DS2 so can't comment on how GT4:P feels with a wheel, but I don't like the ultra slow steering, and the bizarre difficulty to have the tail swing around no matter how rough you are with the "analogue" thumbstick - feels to me like they are trying to even things up by penalising controller users. Whatever they've done, and for whatever reason, I'm not a fan, from an enjoyment (not realism) point of view. And yes, I've turned the assists off.

If I get round to getting a wheel I'll possibly change my mind. GT3 isn't more realistic I'm sure, it's just more fun to me.

I prefer Prologue...

You can feel the weight of the car a lot more and braking is much more of a factor... (GT was one of the first racing games that you had to brake in...) and now they've improved it and you really have to brake at the proper time...

I also think the way that each wheel is more independant to the car is better modelled in GT4:P too... and the steering in Prologue with a controller is quicker than in GT3... sometimes it took an age to get from full lock to full lock... and it frustrated me... now it seems to be a lot quicker... and not instant like in 1 & 2!

I've been playing Prologue quite a bit... currently working my way through golding the Purple licence tests (Which are quite tricky to be honest) but I have to say these tests are a lot easier than getting gold in the first 3... (Which I never managed)

I disagree, never in GT3 did I find myself moving the thumbstick across from one side to the other going through an S-bend and have to wait for the wheels to catch up. Have you tried the last coffee break, the auto-cross type one, the tight "left-right-left" section after the first two longer corners is almost impossible without bringing the car to virtually a complete standstill. You steer left hard, then at the time you want the car to change direction you steer right, but no, you're still steering left, still, still, until you find yourself on top of a cone.

Also, have you tried initiating a pendulum-type drift on a straight piece of road? Much easier in GT3 because you can steer the other way much faster.

The tests themselves are actually very simple, and gold is not difficult on any of them, but you have to predict the steering speed too much (imho) if you want to drive the line properly, I would like to see a video of a wheel player going through that last coffee break though, I'm sure being in direct control of the steering would be a tremendous advantage.

... i´d like to drive in GT4 with the prologur physik engine (it´s simply better and more REALISTIC as many gt-sites and even kazunori yamauchi said!)..but i hate ONE THING at the GT4P Physik:
when ur car drifts and u want to turn it back, it "bites" back and steers very fast (and unrealistic) to the side u steered to!!!..but it´s only that--->nothing more is a serious problem!!!(for me at least!)

Imo exactly that is going more towards realism - at least as far as I have experienced in real life, but that includes some wild acrobatics
:)

...but i never saw i car "biting back" after the driver steered against the drift(ok perhaps they´re that professional but how should i steer then???)..at leats it´s very frustating (like the Penalty (10 seconds!!!) and should be corrected/modified in GT4!!!

Maybe they are harder to control because you are comparing a 60's over powered, under 'gripped' F1 car with a modern family saloon or race car with far better suspension, tyres, brakes etc. :sly:

NEVER SAY 'im in america'
Because im im in Brasil (with S is the correct) and here is america too. Say US or United States!

Coming Back to the Topic
I think that GT4 PR has an engine fully different than the Full GT4 Version Coming, See the The VĂdeos Release and compare to the GT4 Pr vĂdeos!
