By the way, the best way to catch a backfire on photo is to choose your car and track, and try to start the car from standing in it's maximum gear (usually 5th or 6th) using manual transmission. The car will continously backfire.

There's another way as well. Get a really powerful car that wheelspins, wheelspin and keep changing up and down gears all the time. On every downshift it backfires and you capture the smoke with it.

On auto tranny: hold the handbrake+gas, release handbrake, wait til backfire, repeat.

Im on about 48-9 %. the best race car i got is probally the merc CLK GTR and im stuck on the GT world championship in pro mode because my car isnt fast enough. what would anyone recommend 4 me 2 do. i dont want to increase the power because its hard 2 control i have also noticed the rubber wears out quite quickly on the car. is there anywhere i could win a good car or any other advice to help me.

Win the DTM a few times, sell the CLK-GTR every time, and after a while , you'll have enough to buy a Audi R8. Put a turbo stage 3 on and you'll have a great car for the championship

I have the Japaneese Version of Grand Turismo 4 ! and the problem is I dont understand a single Japaneese word... I wonder if the English Version is out..

I managed to get all gold in the beginner hall then I got an Impreza WRX model 94 and I want to go in the 4WD race .. but I cant ! I mean I enter the race but when I want to start the race some error appear! in japaneese! plz help what should i do?!

The English version has been out for about 7 weeks now. But from what I have been reading on this forum, the Euro version is completely different and who knows what the Japanese version is.

Check if your car has sports tyres fitted, you can't use racing tyres in all the cups in GT4.

Can I just ask..............How can you get 2 cars instead of a full grid in arcade mode......I just want 1 AI car on tracks that can have 6 cars........many beacause I want to race top down...........can anyone help me find where I can change the number of AI cars????

It's only certain cars like the Shelby Cobra that has worked for me and I think that it depends on whether you choose to have the top down as I choose this with the Shelby Cobra and had one competitor which was the A/C Cars

Yes. If you choose top down, you will have only one opponent. Some issues with graphics if I recall correctly ...

Yes 24 hours. You can't save during the race so you can't turn off the PS2. If you've got the PAL version you can switch between B-spec and A-spec so you don't have to drive yourself all the time. But if you choose A-spec in any other version of the game, you're stuck with A-spec; same with B-spec.

There's the Skyline 300-GT. That's the V35 isn't it? It looks the same as the Infiniti G35. There's a coupe 350-GT as well.

Then i've seen about 2-3 screenshots after north american release, but one of them, the "author" (if ya wanna kall him tht) admitted to have photoshopd it....

Is there anyway to race on the strip w/o having to run a machine test???

No, you cant race, maybe in the future someone hacks out codes to do it?

At a presentation in Germany, there was a replay video shown of the Las Vegas strip with a skyline and trail Celica racing.

PD planned to have Dragracing in, but left it out of GT4. 👎

I dont get why they did all these confusing things! they go to all the trouble to moddel such a complex las vegas strip and all you can do is drive like 10 seconds on it on your own!...that is really low PD!

Could anyone tell me why there are cars in the game like the RX7s and skylines which all have the same power,weight and torque etc. but different names. i cant give anyone an example because ps2 is off but im sure you know what im talkin about if you look in the nissan showroom and the used car lot. im not trying to pick faults, just i was curious like are some rare versions? also what is the easiest car to start drifting with. thanx

They all SAY they have the same power (276hp/280PS), but they don't.

There are major difference like such as suspension, aero parts, brakes, gear ratio, etc. I have a video of Best MOTORing between the Old RX-7 and the new RX-7 type RS (1999).

1st Question: Which car can I buy or win for the DTM championship, I have just got my IA licence and want to try it. I would like it to be a challenge but not impossible, My idea was to do the Mercedes manufactorer race "Ledgend of the silver arrows" and win the CLK Touring car then stick R1 rubber on it. Or would that be too easy? Should I buy the Opel Touring car for 500k if that is a bit slower?

2nd Question: I am on the 3 lap battle missions and I hate the ASM TCS being on all the time, can I turn this off in the missions, if so how?
