duh the 1/4 mile real life simulator with a 30k limit that can be found on the front page of the "open" forum. Why did they move mine but allow that to stay in a high trafic area? And shouldn't the online forum that I can't even find be for hooking up players with ilink? What does a 30k Tsukuba Challenge have to do with online anyways? I am not the only one who feels this way if you read the countless posts.

The online forum just isnt for ilink. The online forum is for races like the one you did. Even though they arent actually racing each other they are still racing against each other and their times. As to the 1/4 mile thing, I dont know why it was left behind.

SNOBS!!! I started a thread entitled "30k Tsukuba Challenge" And they decided to put it in an online racing forum when it has nothing to do with online, yet they decide to put the 1/4 mile competition on the main general discussion. What gives?

Don't talk bad about them...they could be listening :nervous:

I don't care if they are listening. They aren't moderators they are snoberators. Iraqi's aren't crying for freedom as much as the members of this "forum" are. President Bush should bomb gtplanet.net!!!

Look your complaints against the moderators shouldnt be done here. If you have any troubles please post a thread in Site Feedback. Lets keep this thread about GT4, not your complaints. Besides if the moderators were so bad as you claim they are then they wouldnt be mods because Jordan wouldnt have picked them to be mods.

Anyways back to the subject of the thread:

I've searched for this but havent found much to satisfy me. I didnt want to start a new thread about it when I could just post here. My question is about endurance races. Do you have to run the whole thing in one sitting or can you save when you pit in and pick up where you left off at when you play again?

First rule in gtplanet, you do not talk about gtplanet. Seccond rule in gtplanet YOU DO NOT TALK ABOUT GTPLANET. Come on man this is supposed to be an open forum. There are countless complaints against this fact. I CRY CENSORSHIP!!!

Time to open your eyes and mind vipermanic. Let me quote Lisa_Bonami.
"On a side note, I think the owners or moderators of this forum are bit too 'Controlling' I don't see why posts cant simply be created and posted rather than having everything monitored, screened, voted on, judged, ect.....for God's sakes...its just a post. Let the people post what they want to discuss as long as it contains revelance to the game. ALot of people have left these forums to go to other GT forums as result of this dictatorshipistic approach.....anyways, back to the subject"

hey guys, forgive me for not reading 99% of the posts in this thread but im short on time and i wanted to add my comments about gt4. i delayed buying it for however long its been 2 months? yes it was very hard but i wanted to do as best as i could in my exams. i spent my breaks driving the 996 RGT around deep forest in gt3, but i had no incentive to keep on playing and completing things like i knew i would in gt4. ANYWAY so i bought it yesterday and i've spent a few hours on it now, and i think its just the best gran turismo ever. and therefore best car game too.

i'll start off with a few bad points cause there aren't many of them:
-u have to do the licenses again, always hated that
-they removed those bushes on deep forest that concealed the best line through that fast corner just after the tunnel... i loved that bit! lol
-i haven't worked out if u can have round dials when u're in chase view. can u? if not, then it sucks but i dun care, its a minor point.

as for good points, the best thing is that it seems they really listened to the fans, the people who play this game, and they added lots of tiny things that just make it so much more friendly to the player who will spend months and months playing this and nothing else. things like removing the movie when the game loads, a favourites section for ur cars, etc.

OMG mph are there in the uk version, i almost cried tears of joy :( :)

at first i thought they messed up the physics of the game, but then i turned TCS off and the cars started handling like they should. what i love is that if a car has more than 100hp the wheels dont spin like mother****ers when u floor the accelerator. the cars seem much more accurate to their real counterparts. i haven't driven m5's and rufs or anything but when a car has 380hp, in real life you know thats fast, and for once gran turismo has emulated it perfectly, and its fast in the game too. and cars aren't penalised just because of the way they look or their make, does everyone remember how the skyline r33 was the best car by a MILLION MILES in GT1?? nothing came close haha. but here the m5 can totally compete with the RUF GT, which seems respectable.

the menus and customizations are all in the right place now too, the fact u can change auto-manual without having to quit the race menu is just so useful.

and the nurburgring. OMG THE NURBURGRING, i love that track so much. i'd read and heard about it so many times before, and once i learned about turning TCS off, it just became an instant favourite track of mine. it feels a little narrow but i like that. in reviews people say once u master it, its not about the corners but the bumps. and there are plenty of little bumps and ridges all over, love it.

when u do 160mph in real life, its fast, very fast, and gt3 didnt have all the bumps and the wind effects and stuff that could have shown that up. gt4 on the other hand totally does. go through tiergarten on the nurburgring (the corner after the long straight) and hit the brakes at 160mph when ur steering isn't totally straight and u are on a bump. you will crash, just like u would in real life...

but dont let that put u off, thats what we have games for :D

so to sum up, i love gt4 because:
-the menus are great
-the control layout and HUD are good
-they've improved the sounds (which i didnt think they would cause they sucked from gt1 throught to gt3)
-the 911 RUF GT handles like a dream (like it should :D)
-the bumps and ridges and wind at speed are just so cool
-the fact u dont have to complete the game 99999 times before u have anything better than a micra in arcade mode
-u get the nurburgring as default in arcade
-the maclaren F1 is in the game :D

just one question, im not sure if it was my r2 button sticking again but is it possible to change manual -> auto -> manual at will during the game? if u could that would rule, but i dont mind if u cant.

im sure people agree with me, but i just wanted to let ya all know that i love this game. :)

i doubt i'll be going for 100% but if i do, the only reason will be to get as many cars as possible.

oh yeah, just wanted to thank polyphony for listening to us (the players) and making a game that will keep us happy till the next one rolls out ;)

Okay this is the last time I'm going to post about this. Open my eyes and mind? I think you're the one that needs to do that. I doubt theres that many poeple that are mad like you say they are. Besides I've been here for 3 years. If things were that bad I dont think I would still be here after all this time. The reason why the staff does that is to keep order. If we let everyone do what they wanted and posted what they wanted wherever they wanted then it would be chaos and hell, not to mention just plain messy, for the staff to take care of problems that arise.

I don't know what your problem is vipermanic. I was simply stating my and others obvious opinion so stop busting my balls. There's an old saying; "arguing on the internet is like competing in the special olympics; you may think you have won but in the end you are still retarded"

I don't mean to instigate... but I think vipermaniac stopped "arguing on the internet" a few posts ago. And you're bringing the argument back to life... you just said its pointless, so.... is it really necessary to bring the fight back?

Agreed. Please end the argument here or bannination is close by.

Quick question: when you buy a set of wheels for your car can you put your standard ones back on.
AND if you buy more than 1 set of wheels, can you change between them or go you have to buy the set again

Yes. From setting option, you can change the tire type back and forth. For example you can use Racing Medium (RM) on your front wheels, and use Racing Hard (RH) on your rear wheels.
