Gingiba, you may have missed this...

my computer won't download or even view the used car list

So for PAL, assuming he's after the 205 Turbo 16 (the only 205 in the used car lots), week 52 and week 82 - that's days 364-371 and 574-581, assuming I've got my maths right (it's late, OK :embarrassed: )

thanks Famine, i will down load that when i get home and then i won't have to bother you guys with any more questions like that. Also thanks to gregc for that info

on GT4 there is a 1080res. seting in options, but i read in another post that u can't get that HD through component cables, so how does it work?

It is the opposite. You can only get it through component. Perhaps they meant to say composite, which like S-video is not capable of transmitting a 1080 signal.

Is the AMG SL55 really that good stock? Power wise I mean. Suspension and tires and good to go?

Yes, the SL55 AMG is an incredible car, even for a convertible that should have some accel., decel., and handling problems. Made up for though by the big engine and awesome muffler tone. I'd say get it if you have the cash.

lindsay morgan lohan's car!!!

What is it with you and all this Lohan stuff everywhere?

*sigh*

Moving right along, am I the only person who always thinks of vacuum cleaners when I see the front of the Sauber C9? (AEG make hoovers, you see) :dopey:

When I'll get mine, I'll probably rememmber this and laugh.

The Chapparral looks like... umm... An aerodynamic fridge with a hole for the driver.

Hi guys, I used to lurk here a while back before life took over. Anyways, I just got the GT4 game. The first thing I did was go into the control setup menu to change the controls to what I grew up using :

Left Analog - Steer
Right Analog up - shift up
Right Analog down - shift down
R2 - acc
L2 - Brake

The rest I left as is.

But WTF!!! The stupid game won't let me set the right analog stick to shift. I can set the right analog to steer and the left analog to shift - but not the other way around.

This is the way I learned GT3. I tried the default settings , but it completely throws me off. I instinctly snap the right analog stick to shift and I end up slamming into a wall.

Is my game defective or does GT4 not have my fav control setting? :scared: :ouch:

I'd say it looks more like two washing machines stuck togeather.:dopey:

And here I thought you were referring to the loud sucking sound coming from the front air scoop... that would also account for the comparison to Ms. Lohan. ;)

That's a good question, and I do know the answer to a certain degree.

I know that both of the 1886 Daimlers can't be tuned at all (maybe tires, but I can't find my GT4 to check). I also think that the Nike One 2022 can only get new tires as well. That's all that I can think of at the moment.

I'm almost entirely sure there's a list around here somewhere, but I can't find it. There's the two 1886ers, the FGT and the two buggies (Nike car and Toyota MTRC) on it at least. I think the Ford T and, in almost all cases but one bizarre one, the Auto Union are also there, but I'm not sure about the Tank Car.

Caterham is completely tuneable - both power and drivetrain parts can be added, as well as weight-reduction (is there anything to reduct at all?) and chassis-refreshing. It's a really sweet car, and it gets sweeter when properly set up.

Famine: The Auto Union is tuneable. Being a racecar (though an antique one), it has all the usual parts, as well as the weight-reductions already done/locked, but the power can be increased with a turbo, and the different suspension-parts can be tuned.
I reckon the Tank Car isn't tuneable, but I don't have the gold-medals to try it...

You can modify the Caterham, you just cannot race it.

@Famine, I'm pretty sure you can modify the Auto Union, but it's like the Caterham 7, you can't use it in any races.

EDIT: Dang! I have been beaten to a post again!

No Tuner Shop Options (except 'Rigidity')
  • 1886 Mercedes-Benz Benz Patent Motor Wagen
  • 1886 Mercedes-Benz Daimler Motor Carriage
  • 1915 Ford Model T Tourer
  • 2003 Jay Leno Tank Car (+ all tires except Dirt & Snow)
  • 2004 Toyota Motor Triathlon Race Car (+ all tires)
  • 2022 Nike One (+ all tires)
The Formula Gran Turismo has no available tuner shop, thus no options.

BTW: You also cannot change the oil of any of these cars, but unlike cars that you can change the oil, these do not lose power due to old oil.

What is the Caterham meant to be? What is its class? Looks like a sprintcar or some speedway type thing.

The Caterham is a Lotus Seven clone. Its class is "Caterham". There are races all over the UK every week for Caterhams and other Seven clones, and the beauty is that you can build it yourself - it can come in kit form from the factory, you just need to add an engine and gearbox of your choice...

nice, cheers DN.....

btw, when i said 'tuned' i meant in the terms of spending money, not adjusting settings.....

are there any others on which you cannot spend money.... [other than tyres/chassis refresh.....]
