Okay, is the Suzuki Concepts race one of those impossible to do 200 Aspec point races? Without the GSX/R4 btw.

No, major tuning is required though! And a lot of patience.

On a side note, my picture gallery is finally up!

Press square when you are in a replay to go to dive replay mode, there's some awesome angles in that, but you can't keep the colors in it unless you edit the pictures. Oh, and it's correctly spelled synchronize. :)

For the K-Car cup, it's advisable to use, that's right, a Kei-Car. All those mini-cars from Japan - Mazda Autozam, Suzuki Cappuchino, Honda Beat, etc. are cars that comply with the Japanese regulations - a Kei-car has comply with (those are the current 1998 regulations):
* length: 3.39 m or less
* width: 1.48 m or less
* height: 2 m or less
* displacement: up to 660 cc
* power: 64 hp or less
And in return, you pay less insurance and taxes, and don't have to prove you have enough parking-space. All this, only in Japan...

In GT4, the AI runs Kei-cars, but you can also run European superminis - The Autobianchi, the Fiat 500(all variations), and most really-short cars. A list of cars compliant with real-life Keicar regulations is available here - most of them are included in GT4.

Sorry to change topic, but might as well.

I have noticed that alot of people are under the assumption that GT4 uses all 8GB of the duel layer DVD. If you assume this, you would be wrong. After some work using a fancy DVD ripper and a PS2 HDD, I noticed that the game only is 5GB. The first layer of the DVD being music, menus and game information, and the second being everything else. Fancy idea on Polyphony Digital's end, but, still, sad to know they left so much space unfilled.

Now, in case you are wondering, all I did was merge the two layers to form one big .ISO file (HDadvance explains the process), NO INFORMATION OR DATA IS SHRUNK OR LOST during this merge. So the end file size, IS the actual disc size.

Just thought I would share.

They [probably] didn't use all 8GB because they were under the gun to get it out. I'm sure online play would have taken at least another 512MB.

Well it depends how they create the multiplayer part.They could use the car file from single player and have longer loading time switching between the multi-player part and single player part.Or, just use one section for multiplaer which would make alot faster loading but more space and time used making the game.

But look at, say, the MTA mod for the GTA series. It's not that heavy.
With the tracks and the cars already in the game, all they'd have to do is share the data, like in the replay - timing of the throttle, brakes, nitrous, hand-brake, etc, as well as steering, and then time it all together.

Multi-player just allows people to play in place of AI. Given that the AI starts in the same place as it would in a multi-player game, they just override that with a player. Usually takes a good 1mb to do so. Also, the only real file increase will be the menus to multiplayer, which I am sure wont top 5mb.

In terms of multi-theft-auto, rockstar left out a good portion of the data for it. So the makers of that mod had to put it in, since the game has no set start points, and fully open, it needed "markers" around the map. Like Gingiba said, wasn't that big, though.

And aside from the load time from reading the disk, any other "slow loading", is mainly because of your Internet connection. I doubt an Online Gran Turismo will allow any less than a Broadband connection.

Rater than start a new thread, what's the best handling SL?

I want to spend my hard-earned on one, but I'm not much bothered for outright speed.

By "SL" I imagine you are reffering to the Mercedes SL line? 👍
I love those cars and would be happy to give my opinion. :sly:

If you want the best, the "SLR" is just that- the best.
The SLR can be reduced in weight so that it runs around 1500kg (if not less). In both arcade and GT mode it is one of, if not, the fastest road car in the game. :eek:

However, let's just say you don't want to spend a whopping 600,000 Cr. on a new supercar. Instead, let's talk about a great option for less money. :D

The AMG SL55 is awesome.
First off, the price is way lower than the SLR and thanks to that you will be able to apply a semi or full custom suspension, weight reductions, and whatever else you want (while still keeping the price relatively low).

About the weight, it's lower than the SL65 and after weight reductions it will come in at a respectable level (around 1500). That's gonna give you the chance to tune your suspension and end up with a car that doesn't feel like a 2000kg monster.

As for the engine, it's good enough to run stock and still haul-butt, plus with weight reductions it will really fly. Without any mods it should be capable of doing whatever you want (unless your really pushing for something special).

Finally, the main reason I've taken to the SL55 over the SL65 or any other (except the SLR)...

The transmission.
The SL55 shifts so quickly you wouldn't believe it. In my opinion it is one of the fastest shifting trannys in the game. The SL55's transmission is easily and noticably faster than the SL65.

My suggestion to you is this...
Buy the SL55 but don't get in it and don't save. Head into arcade mode and test it out, then do the same with the SL65 and any other SL you may be considering.

I am confident that you will enjoy the SL55 as much as I have. :cheers:

What is an NA engine and which car companies make them? I'm stuck at the Pro race and it says NA engines only

NA means Natural Aspiration. NA means, no turbocharger or supercharger are installed.

Most companys have NA engines. Among the best of them are TVR, the Honda NSX series, and various big engines. You can tell if an engine is NA or Turbo, either by looking in the garage, sorting the cars by drivetrain, or by checking if you can NA-tune the car.

Pretty logical that we did, isn't it? Infact, I've got a replay of two laps with the Superbird 'round the 'ring...

wow, that must've been hard. you know 200 turns, a muscle car. how did you do it?

oh and btw, you know that a black SL65 is LL's car, right?

Nah, it wasn't tough. Not when you're speed-limited to 200KM/h, and don't know the track so you overbrake all the time. It's just slow and long... And sometimes a little dirty.

What's an LL's car?

i've searched the forums to no avail, and my computer won't download or even view the used car list so can someone please tell me what day the peugot 205 road car show in the showroom?
