Another thing to note that, in my opinion, is very important...
You need a USB flash drive to do transfers with the Maxdrive.
With the Sharkport/Xport you recieve the cable to connect the PS2 and the PC (there in lies the only problem... the PC and PS2 have to be within about 6 feet of one-another).
However, with the Maxdrive you recieve the same two discs (one for the PC software and one for the PS2), but in place of a connecting cable you recieve a memory card that isn't really good for too much when it comes to GT4.
To use the Xport you have to connect the PS2 and PC with the provided cable, use the provided disc in the PS2 and the software on the PC, then follow the proper procedure to transfer saves.
With the Maxdrive you have to use the disc in the PS2 and then transfer your save from your memory card to a flash drive, then you must connect the flash drive to the PC and unload the data (vice-versa to get PC saves onto the PS2 memory card).
For each device there are problems.
However, I'm yet to get any corruption problems from either.
In the end you will be fine with either one, although I suggest you consider the pros and cons of both before buying either.
Like Famine, I have both.
I have no prefference as to which is better.
Anyone feel like giving this guy a post about the pros and cons of both?
