I know this has been asked but is The GT-One in the game. I saw it in the game intro that I downloaded but I haven't seen it on car list or the prize list
You didn't look too hard since theres tonnes of pics with it in, AND it's on the car list under Toyota of all things. And how the hell could you see it in the intro and not know if it's in the game or not.

it IS in!!!..and that makes sense cause it was since GT2 in the game and besides, it´s very popular and thus should be in GT4 of course!
here:
http://z-o-g.org/gt4cars/japanese/toyota-gt-one-race-car-ts020-99.html
(copy into adress line)

and there´sa the Minolta 89C-V, too:
http://z-o-g.org/gt4cars/japanese/toyota-minolta-toyota-88c-v-race-car-89.html

i know this car is called "88C-V" but it´s wrong!...Toyota called its Prototypes after the YEAR they were running in:
that´s why a Toyota from 92 is called "92C-V" and one from 88 is called "88C-V" and thus the Minolta from 1989 IS CALLED TOYOTA MINOLTA 89C-V RACE CAR(C1)

so just copy the link or look at the attachments(there are more carz!);>

Sorry, wrong.

This is a Toyota 89C-V from 1989. As you can see from the side it is a different car. The '89 is more then likely a typo.

I would suggest that the car is in fact an obscure subtly updated model of the 88-CV. It is of note that the GT4 car differs from regular 88-CVs in that the front wing/nose section is not recessed. The flat front wing is of course a feature that appeared on the 89CV. Further, if we look at the sponsorship above the headlights, we can see that it has changed from CIBIE to KoiTo. This is also a feature of the 89CV.
It is of course impossible to be certain…however, if it is not an evo model that was used/worked on in 1989, PD has cocked up both the date and the modelling of the car.

BTW, the car is a joy to drive. When you get it in your garage….it has over 900 ps.

Edit: for those putting off the Aston Martin and TVR cups, don’t. You can win special colours for both the DB9 and the Speed 12.

The nose of the model in the game appears to be taped over, which some teams did do in the day for better aerodynamics.

Interesting thought. However, the intakes in nose differ in shape.

Edit: Note the distinct taper of the intakes on the 88CV. The gt4 car intakes have more of a rectangular shape that wraps around the side further.

Also, although PD is prone to errors, it is unlikely that they would make a typo on a car that has a year model for its very name.

Ok, back to racing.

NO you win the NSX Lm Road Car Concept at the race "Motegi 8hours" and not by 150miles of High Speed Ring...

In the Motegi Twin Ring 150 miles, the prize car is a NSX LM "Race" Car 2002.
The Motegi 8 hours you win a NSX LM "Road" Car.

sorry didn´t know that 👍

hey the car in GT4 IS the 89C-V cause look:
Le_Mans-1988-06-12-036.jpg

THAT is the car from 1988 and that is NOT the car from GT4(look pic!!!) the car from GT4 is that here:
Le_Mans-1989-06-11-036.jpg

THAT is THe TOYOTA 89C-V RACE CAR LM FROM 1989; K????
DIscussion END

No the car IS the Toyota 88C-V that ran the JSPC. There WAS an 88C-V as well as the later 89C-V

The 89C-V ran at Le mans 24Hour and the rest of the World Sportscar championship.

check out these pages:

http://www.tte.de/1999/le-mans/le-mans-museum-1989-89cv.html

READING these pages should sort any uncertanties. THE '89 is either wrong or the it should the more well known Toyota 89C-V

The first car you pictured is a Toyota 88C, a different car from the Toyota 88C-V. The second car is an 89C-V, which as I already pointed out, is different. It lacks all the vents on the side that the 88C-V had. It also has a longer tail.

This is the other 89C-V from LeMans. Notice where the vents on the side are in the car in the game, and then look at this car.

well look at this page "somecoolguy" gave and everything will be clear:

http://www.tte.de/1999/le-mans/le-m...m-1988-88c.html

1988-88c-no36-5.jpg

this car (ABOVE) IS THE TOYOTA 88C with a 4cylinder angine(that´s why it hasn´t a "V")---> (quote from page):

""In April 1988 Toyota presented its new Group C challenger in Japan, the 88C-V, V stood for V8. With this 3.2-litre twin-turbo engine, Toyota was firmly on the pace of its competitors....""

and as you can see the car on the pic(ABOVE) is NOT the car from GT4!!...it is the 88C, understand?so the "V" is just for the engine specification(if it IS an V8 or therather old 4 cylinders!)BUT that has nothing to do with the CHASSIS!!!

so now we come to THE CAR WHICH IS IN GT4:
1989-89cv.jpg

1989-89cv-2.jpg

These cars(above) ARE TWO TOYOTA 89C-Vs as you can read it on the page(2nd link)and they HAVE an V8 engine and the BLUE ONE IS THE CAR FROM GT4, and that´s all ok?.....so that´s is why i´m saying that they call the 89C-V unforunately a 88C-V though it was an 89 C-V which raced at LM in 1989!!!!

GTW: somecoolguy, can you give me a link to this "Le mans Museum at TTE(i want to find the GT-One with its full specifications and so on... but i can´t find it!!)???plzzz i just can´t find it!

Except that quote doesn't refer to the picture. That car is an 88C. That section of the website talks about both the 88C and 88C-V. It even says in the file name: 1988-88c-no36-5.jpg

For the THIRD time now, please look at the side of the car in the game. Notice the large number of inlets and vents, especially around the word Toyota there on the side? Now look at the 89C-Vs that you posted above, and notice that they are FLAT on the side.

Now stop arguing, you are wrong. And learn how to type like you aren't some 14yo fanboy

1twojay:

What was the 1st car that you purchased? And with hindsight would you still choose this car over others that are available?

I only ask as my copy of GT4 arrived today!!! I want to rack up some winnings 1st and then go and spend my wad wisely.

Cheers for all the work that you have put in to give us all an insight into what to expect. Without the hard work from yourself and other GTPlanet members I would be staring at pages of Japenese text without a clue as to where to start!

and where did this car(from GT4) race???...it says somehting with ´89 at the end so isn´t it Le Mans???
...so you mean it HAS the Chassis of the 89C-V but cause it has another engine(the 4 cyliner one because 4 cyliners need MORE air to cool that´s why tjhere air more air-intakes)
but then it should be called 89C or sth with "89" at the end of course and NOT 88C-V cause it didn´t raced in 1988 and the Chassis is a complete DIFFERENT one from the 88C!

For the love of...

The 1989 is a MISTAKE. The car is a Toyota 88C-V. PERIOD.

Like talking to a brick wall...

Thats just info on the car at the bottom, it's probably saying the car raced until 89 or something like that, the name of the car at the top says quite clearly 88C-V, it's also called an 88C-V in the info at the bottom, where it says 89 is just a refference to the year.

OK, so I want to ask, are the prize cars for the license tests available other places like in GT3? Or is it like GT2 where that was the only place you couldl get em? My skill means if they are only availible as license prizes then the all silver and gold prize cars for the testa other then the most basic ones will forever remain unavailible to me, very sad.

Clearing 1/2 of the "1 lap magic" Mission races gives you a Toyota 7 race car '70, and finishing them off gives you a Nissan R89C race car '89

so you mean, live4speed, that this car looks like the 89C-V(except those air intakes at the side) but is called a 88C-V that raced in 1989?...well that could be an answer to clear up the irritation 👍
but what you mean with "raced until 89"???-did it race IN 88 or what??

and you KSaiyu could you please give a better definition for this "1Lap Magic" prize cars??..i don´t understand which car you win which time!...when do you win the toyota and when the nissan??? can you explain properly?

After doing the Z, Honda, Mazda, Celica, Chevrolet Mission races, you will get the Toyota. I'm not sure if you have to do all the other previous missions, but you need those 5 at least

I think KSaiyu means that completing 50% of the 1 Lap Magic missions gives you the CanAm Toyota and completing the other 50% gives you the Nissan with the spats.

There seems to be a severe lack of British racers in the game, just 2 so far. So let's hope this great racer makes it, though still time, it isn't looking likely.

that Jag should be IN!!!you´re right and there´s NO LOTUS ELISE GT1 anymore since GT2 though it was a very awesome CAR!!!
...and the Peugeot 905, Toyota TS010, too!!!
let´s hope PD included them ;>

I wanted one of the the Speed 12 GTS's I think they were fantastic, not reliable enough to win the Priviledge cup but when they won, they won, they shouldv'e at least put in one of the current Tuscan 440R race cars. Also I'm dissapointed with PD's choice of Marcos cars, of all the Marcos's made, they choose the Mini Marcos as the car to put in GT4, the bloody Mini Marcos. I've got nothing against that car but when you look at some of the awesome road and race machinery thats wore that badge the Mini Marcos seems somewhat insignificant.
