its almost inconcievable that theres no sign of any type of firebird / trans am / firehawk in the game, A GTO Judge Edition would have been a perfect add too, It just seems that there is such a missrepresentation of American Muscle

No no. If that's what you think, it could be the reason why you try to add cars even if they have not been confirmed yet :)

The problem is not that it is not complete, but that it has cars that are not confirmed (or not yet) in the Japan game.

The reason for this is imo that you started from the "master car list". The risk of that approach is that one looses overview which cars have been confirmed and which are still in from preview sources.

You're the only person who has a problem with the way I am conducting the organization of the list. If you can't realize that it clearly says that cars can be deleted from it, and that it is also not finished, then thats your problem.

And quite frankly I could care less about it.

Damn buggy, being a bit of a hard ass? Pointing it out was all you had to do. Also the Grand sport was seen in screen shots back in 2003.

Well maybe I can be a hard ass sometimes, but I prefer to do it that way rather then starting to ignore this thread, as I see unfortunately some members do (e.g. an Italian member with a Japanese name who contributed well with his translations).

Thanks anyway 359 for deleting the Clio '00 and the Corvette Gran Sport and keeping the list as accurate as possible.

The Gran Sport was shown in the first screenshots with the muscle cars indeed, but not yet seen since the Japan release. I hope it will eventually be in the game however.

359, I did not see the cars below on your list:

Honda NSX ('99) [pic]
Honda Prelude SiR S Spec ('98) [pic]
Mazda Roadster 1800 RS ('00) [pic]

The following cars are on your list. On the game there are two versions of each, new and used. I thought you might want to note that somehow.

Audi TT 1.8T Quattro ('00) [new] [used]
Honda N360 ('67) [new] [used]
Honda S600 ('64) [new] [used]
Isuzu Bellett 1600 GT-R ('69) [new] [used]
Jensen-Healey Interceptor Mk.III ('74) [new] [used]
Mercury Cougar XR-7 ('67) [new] [used]
Nissan Bluebird 1600 Deluxe (510) ('69) [new] [used]
Nissan Fairlady 2000 (SR311) ('68) [new] [used]
Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R (KPGC110) ('73) [new] [used]
Toyota Celica 1600GT (TA22) ('70) [new] [used]

I haven't been able to access the gallery for about a week now...

All I get is "The operation timed out while attempting to contact z-o-g.org"

it often seems to me that the developers have no idea what american muscle is. The 71 charger superbee is dandy, but there are more iconic, historically important cars that should be considered (trans am, mustang, Buick GSX).

BTW, where'd the challenger R/T go? It was in GT2, but I haven't seen it in the car list for GT4.

Im not dodging on the fact that there's 49 Skylines, thats just fine, but there only seems to be 20-30 Muscle Cars, but How many Incarnations of the mustang have there been over the years? GT350, GT500, BOSS, Saleen, How about the ultra Rare SSC Pioneer Saleen Mustang? the 1993 Cobra, 1993 Cobra R (first incarnation), and why at least No Mach 1? I mean theres only One or 2 mustangs in the game besides the 2005 Incarnation, and how about the awsome Shelby Concept? That is a cool car!

And As for GTO wise, They could've gone with the 67 I prefer that look alot more, they could've done A Tri-Power or Judge, and I keep wondering why I never see Any Firebirds but up alot of Camaros, a 67 Trans AM (first one) would've have been an EXCELLENT add.

Im not ranting that "hey the games going to suck, blah blah" I've got increadible hype for it, and its GOING to be good regardless, it still has some of my Favorite cars in there, and its going to be increadible, but I keep looking at the American Cars and there seems to be such a "lack" compared to them and the number of Japaneese Counter Parts, this rant isnt going to change anything and I Know that, I just REALLY hope they step it up for GT5, or they Should just Call it:

Sorry, but what about Ferrari & Lamborgini in GT4?

There are no Ferraris or Lambos or Porsches in GT4 and there never will be any in a GT game because EA is going back to the old NFS concept on PS3 according to ps3portal.com. On this site, they show screens of what could the next gen console graphics will look like, and one of those is a Porsche 911 from a future NFS game on PS3 according to EA. This means they will probably get the renewal of their exclusive license with all these makes and share it only for lots of $$$$$, what Sony won't pay. With EA, they either get an exclusive license or no license at all.

LOL :) this goes in my Sig. Too good. It's so true. I think they should hire Muscle car specialists to make a list of ultimates that should be put in the game, same goes for European cars. as for the Japanese ones, no problem they have them all anyway. :dunce:

damn! you guys are so RIGHT! i jst read the latest list and some of the bonus cars and it seems they have a lot of hot cars and some old but really some classics would make it so much more fun! like 71 cuda conv or the 67 sting ray and your list gto ...boss shelby mustangs or the new cobra concept(!!). aside the detroit muscle they also left many euro classics out. i dont know about the bonus cars but a merc 190 evo and no m3 evo to beat it...on the ring...i get the chills jst thinkin about it!

I was actually REALLY surprised to hear that they didnt add the Cobra Concept, a 67 Sting Ray would be an excellent add! as would the 71 Cuda! wow cant believe I forgot about them.

I just Cant understand why GT4 is supposed to be the Evolution of cars or racing (one or the other) and yet it seems more like the Evolution of Japaneese Imports, My Dad works at General Motors, So It dissapoints me to see the almost "lakster" attempt at Pontiac Its a Start Compared to the other GT Games (that didnt have it) but theres SO Much more they could've done with the American Side of things (Such as Pontiac and Chev.) same goes for the Ford Department, For ever 1 version of a Skyline there are probably 2 or 3 versions of A mustang, it sucks to see the PD Doing "Favoritism" over "General Equality"

Adding Buick was also a nice thing, but they didnt even scratch it, but not adding a GSX? thats rediculous, And I was DEAD serious when i said they should Just call GT 5 "Nissans Pride" because it's very true, its the one of Maybe the only Companies that are OVER represented, while the rest (especially that of the American "muscle car" market) is almost completely under represented.

Again Im not basing the game or how it will play, or how good it will be, but just that the selection could've been more "balanced" rather then opinionated.

Since GT4's made a large part of it's concept the history of the automobile, I'm suprised the Cobra Daytona coupe hasn't returned from GT2, that cars pretty significant historically.

Blah blah whine.

It's a Japanese game made by Japanese people, launched in Japan first. What did you expect, exactly?

In my brief study of GT4 car representation by country, I come up with this:
1st Japan
2nd Germany
3rd USA

Do you see me running around in circles, complaining that there's so few, comparatively, British cars on there?

Although Japanese cars make up more than half of the cars in the game, it's by no means as "biased" towards them as previous games were.

Exactley, the GT series will ALWAYS lean towards the Japanese car market.

Why?

The majority of new inclusions - rather than repeat showings from earlier GT games - aren't available on the Japanese market.

Thing is this though this isn't GT1 were talking about its GT4. I don't mind a slant in the favour to Japanese cars but it should be more balanced then it is. I mean they must of sold just as many copies out of Japan.

ChristmasGTO
okay, well if thats the case then instead of saying "The progression of the automible" they should just say "the Evolution of the japaneese market"

So true, I really hope they atleast attempt to balance it alittle more for the other releases but I won't hold my breath.

But they did include the Model T, the Patent wagon and other classics inbetween, just not that many of them compared to the overall car count. If this many european and American cars were put in any other game it would be praised. Consider all the different Lancers and Skylines as extra's not instead of's.

To me though sticking those in is just throwing a bone. I think what really gets me is the poor amount of 2nd hand Euro cars, I'd really hoped for once to see some 'daily driver' European cars in there (other than the Panda). When I saw the Panda & 240 I didn't realise they'd be almost the only ones. :guilty: When on the other hand you get nearly every Japanese car since the 1960's (When as far as I know was when Japanese really started pumping out cars) ;) You'd hope there would be plenty for everyone with a figure of 700 cars.

I myself have come up with a list of cars & I've reached M with a figure of only 220 including different generations of the same cars & thats including plenty of European & Japanese cars along with a reasonable amount of US cars based on my primitive knowledge. Maybe its because I haven't reached Nissan yet

I suppose I should of mentioned my car list only includes cars up to 1995 the oldest car in it being the E-Type Jaguar. Although most cars are between the 1980's & 1995.

7000 cars, blimey :D Maybe we'll see that many Skylines in GT5  And yeah I may post it at some point, its an ideal car list for a game I'm making for my University Project. Obviously its no GT but I can dream hehe.

Edit: live4speed edited his post so the 7000 figure may confuse you ;)
