is there any chance we will see the renault espace minivan with f1 engine fitted midship? rumour has it Frank Williams had this built so he could experience the feel of a modern f1 engine while in his wheelchair.true or not i don't know.it sure was awsome sounding.

Why didn't he just strap one of those F1 engines to his wheelchair? That would kick a rather large amount of ass. Even more so because it would then get to be in GT4!

Best thing ever I tells you!

Is that your dog? Sorry
Where did you get the picture? I do use it as an avatar on another forum but that's not a free pass for copying.

EDIT: Sorry for the off topic posts, Me and Cosmic will handle this over PMs.

I saw something on the IGN forums that might warrant a tiny change to the wording of the initial post in this thread.

Since there is now an official car list (albeit incomplete), perhaps the wording for the "Cars in black" should be changed to include cars listed on the official list, even if they haven't actually been seen yet. One of the users over there was panicking because he was unable to find screenshots of the Ford Lightning, since the wording of the list here implied there were screenshots of it somewhere.

Just a thought. :)

EDIT: It's even worse now.. they're even going so far as to say the list is purposefully "misleading". :dunce:

Bet you didn't realize how important this list has become, eh? :)

You're onto somethin there.

I'd better write that down in my notebook.

my japanese friend told me that there will be a chrisler 300 c on the game he saw it,
2 days ago I was looking in the book "muscle cars" by Michael Benson, published in 1996.
It only features a selection of the most important muscle cars, but all the muscle cars confirmed in GT4, are in the book.
Vice versa, there are not so many cars in the book that are NOT in GT4!
One of the few cars not confirmed in GT4, is the 1957 Chrysler 300 C. They write about that car - with the Hemi engine - as the first muscle car.
As GT4 tries to feature the important cars from car history, I think your friend could be right :dopey:

There are a lot of people who will argue that fact. The 300 "letter cars" from Chrysler were powerful, but those Hemi engines were in their largest cars, so they can hardly be considered muscle cars. Not if muscle car is defined as a powerful, large displacement V8 in a lightweight body. Generally speaking, most people consider the '64 Pontiac GTO the first true muscle car, since it put the large 396 V8 into Pontiac's lightweight Tempest LeMans. But the 1957 Rambler Rogue did the same thing 7 years earlier when they put the AMC 327 V8 in the lightweight Rambler sedan. And some people say that the 1949 Olds 88 was the first true muscle car because they put the modern 303 V8 from the larger 98 in the smaller 88 model. It's all debatable, but every one of those cars would be a worthwhile addition to the game.

Just a couple notes--the first GTO used a 389; the 396 is a Chevy engine. And if you're talking early Chrysler 300s, the 1955 C-300 is the one generally regarded as the "first muscle car"

You're right about the GTO. I should have known better, too, as my brother owned a '65 GTO in the mid-70's with a 389. As for the C-300, it's a very powerful, sexy and desirable car, but I still wouldn't call it a muscle car. This is just my opinion, mind you, but a full sized car isn't a muscle car. You only get a muscle car when you put a big engine in a small car (or at least smaller than fullsized.)

You are right. I re-read and in the text the book is written : When Chrysler put the Hemi into a hot-looking convertible called the Chrysler 300, modern mythologie was written. The 1955 Chrysler 300 tore up every big stock car track in the country. Without the Hemi and the Chrysler 300, the muscle car craze of the 1960s and early 1970s would have been very different.
Only the picture is from the 1957 model. :sly:

well i was trying to find bigger one but i couldn't
I played GTC geneva pal a week before or so.
and I noticed V8 badge on Hyundai Tiburon/Coupe
and I am so curious.
Who and why did Sony put V8 on V6 car???
and will it be same for GT4?
it's so strange since GT is all about reality.
I never seen any mistakes before that I known..
Is there more mistakes like that you spot in GT?
btw V8 powered Tiburon will rock. Haha :dopey:

Placing a V8 in the FWD tiburon should not be possible due to size this is puzzling?

Actualy unless the car was converted to RWD, a Hyundai couldn't fit a v8.
not horizontally mounted atleast. v8s have to mounted longitudally. those front drive trannys would bust under those types of torque and hp ratings. Even a smaller v8 would be a challenge....
Although people have crammed a Stang 5.0 into a Focus before, but it was converted to rwd or awd I forget.

Couldn't agree more.
4 door does not equal muslce....
So tell dodge to drop two doors from the new Magnum and the new Charger....
I hear muscle, nothing but 2 doors come to mind. A few hatchbacks as well but still.
Muscle=
Hemi 'Cuda
Charger
Challenger
Mach 1
Boss 302

big block motors
454
429
426
427

5.4
5.7
6.0
hp over 300
smokey burnouts
drag racing....
they all come to mind when I think muscle.... 👍
if it has 4 doors it's no muscle.
Untill a Mustang has 4 doors muscle is a 2 door club.
Why Mustang as the judge? well Stang is the only 1 alive since the muscle car era.
It's still alive and kicking 40 years later! Only muscle to survive tough emissions standards, ever changing crash standards, and high fuel costs. And even in it's unfortunate 74-80 form it was still a Car and Driver 10 best car! And it was car of the year too! And now the 2005 is one of the 10 best again. And Mustangs have been race winners from the shelbys all the way up to todays Trans-Am series.
Only true muscle anymore. You may argue GTO is back, well look a the GTO sales 18,000 made and only 8200 sumthing sold. nuff said. Mustang isthe only true muscle car anymore. And with the new Mach1s making 370hp and the new Cobras being said to make 450+ it looks like it's ging to be the top contender even when the 07 Camaro makes its first appearence with only a 350hp V8 and a 250hp v-6. And expect the hp of the GTs to go up to 325 by the 2007 model year.
Sry I know I got off topic, but muscle is the only car I can honestly appreciate and hey they some of the most valuable cars out there.
Convertable Hemi Cuda with a 4 speed and metric guages from france sold for $1.5 million. Nuff said there.
And I'm very glad to see pd put some very nice muslce into the game, as well as the SVT Lightning! Can't wait to roast some beemers in that monster.

We were talking about early Chrysler 300s. The C-300, 300B, 300C, 300D, 300E, 300F, 300G, 300H, 300J, 300K, and 300L were all 2-door only. There were no 4-door 300 letter-series cars until the 300M in 1999.

It was done by ford svt, & it was rwd.

I was hoping for a pontoac gto 66+ because after that year they satrted to come out with the 400 which had a lot of potential with the help of tri-power carbs. I have a 68' gto painted a dark olive green with the original body. the car makes a measured 610 hp at the wheels!!! a true muscle car.
when I think of muscle cars I think of saturday night recing at the strip.

Time to separate FPV from Ford on the list. BTW, here is the first image of the Australian Car town.
