Yup! Same here. I completed GT4 so Forza is the next 'challenge' for me. :)

Well, from what I can see, the Forza AI isn't much better than GT4's. Atleast in GT4 they'll get you out of the way so the race still goes. In Forza, you could prolly just stop your car and go away for a while and come back to a stalled race.

I think the Forza cars look a little under-contrasted or under-saturated... there's just something what doesn't work well between the cars and the tracks.

These are really the first comparisons I've seen between the two since I didn't follow the Forza vs GT4 thread, but I think the two games seem to be even..... not because they have all the same features, but because the features from one may be non-existent or whatnot than the other. Damage is a big plus, I think, but I won't buy Forza just for that reason. I'd have to see something else really significant to change my mind about GT4. The Corvettes and some other cars sound really beefy in Forza. A plus, I think.... but I'm a bass lover, so that's a given. I think GT4 could be improved in that area, but still not enough for me to choose Forza over GT4.

I haven't seen the videos, but I can tell you this. I love the Ferrari 333SP. And with that 333SP sideways in Forza, kind of reminds me of racing that Forza demo with the aids off (in fact, I can't remember if I had the aids on or off, but let's assume that I did have them on and just couldn't drive like crap). I've raced Laguna Seca in countless racing games. The look and feel of 'Seca in both games are pretty accurate. Laguna Seca really looked like the Laguna Seca I see on Speed Channel in Forza, so that's a plus for the XBOX-exclusive Forza. I think eveything was pretty accurate. The dreaded Corkscrew in Forza (and even GT4) is still just like Dale Earnhardt, an Intimidator. About the grass... I think I mentioned this in the thread when we seen our first look at Sears Point and Motegi. Whereas Laguna Seca in Forza has everything dusty and desert-like, Gran Turismo has things more dusty, but with more grass. Of course, I'm no pro to Laguna Seca. I think Forza kind of has it pretty much like what you'd probably find if you went to Laguna Seca RIGHT NOW. Gran Turismo 4 kind of has it in kind of a rather beautiful setting. I like Laguna Seca in both games, really.

I have full experience of AI from past GTs and the Forza demo. All I can say is, no one's perfect. By the way, nice to see the Spyker C8 in action. Muy bien y muy gracias, amigo.

As far as those sounds go I think both Forza and GT4 are horrible. GT4 continues to have that vacuum cleaner sound for half the cars and Forza just seems completely off. I think Project Gotham Racing 2 did a much better job with the sounds than Forza, but Need For Speed Underground 2 seems to have everyone beat.

However, after viewing all the videos I must say that Forza did seem to get one car right, the Viper GTS.

I thought GT3 had captured Luna Seca pretty well but I'm surprised it looks so cloudy in GT4. If you watch speed channel Luna Seca looks very much like Forza. Very sunny with a desert feel to it unlike GT4 where you see too much grass.

Oh well I only have PS2 and I'm going to buy GT4 no matter what.

I really like the proper breaking noise in Forza, GT4 still so off on breaking sound!! >> 1 sad but true/honest observation: I'm afraid Toca 2 has a more proper and quite deeper sound than both Forza and GT4, I know many people will say I'm crazy, but maybe they just had more room to add a more authentic noise since it's not nearly as comprehensive as Forza or GT. Now EggHead, I would love to see a sound comparison from the cockpit/bumper view on both games, since that's the view most people will be playing with. Thanks a lot for all the videos posted and all the updates, I’m sure the entire board really appreciates you taking the time.

Oh no, Cobra is watching this thread. :) ;)
What a eye opener really an ear opener. The cars in Forza sound way way way diffrent from GT4 on those vids. In FM u can hear more going on in the sounds like that funny gargle sound and in the first vid when the corvette picked up speed u slowly started hearing a whistling sound as it got over the first hill aproaching 170 kph.In the GT4 corvette u didnt hear that at all. Forza's sounds much richer and deeper. Very good job there Egghead. thank you

I wanted to do that but the problem with both games is that it doesn't sound good. In Forza it's too loud or to soft (except the 2nd bump cam.. but that's too low on the ground so that drives shi te). In GT4 it's always tooooooo soft, you can only hear the turbo for 99999.9% of the time. That's why i used the behind view.

Np. :)

monterey is foggy just about every morning, the mountains that laguna is nestled in hold the fog until the afternoon, that would explain the cloudiness...

Ahh thanks for giving me the correct spelling for Laguna Seca Red six. Your probably right about the mornings looking like that but I just never seen any races at Laguna when its not sunny. I want to race like I see on TV because the TV never lies :dopey: .

Nice vids, both games look great hopefully in GT5 their will be car damage. One thing I would have prefered in GT4 3rd person view is an actual tachometer not just some bar  but I'm still gonna get GT4 and I'll deal with it.

I can say honestly that I thought Forza was going to be better than that. The movement of the cars looked horrible. The Audi R8 looked bad in general. It didn't appear it was on the track if you looked near the bottom of it. There were only two cars I prefered the sound over GT4. The Lancer, which I loved the turbo sounds, and the Viper. The rest were bad IMO.

Meh, I'll stick to GT4, even though I don't have it yet.

What kind of AI is that?? It waits for you to move??

meh - GT4 they drive right through you and FM they wait patiently behind you. One day someone will figure out how to code AI to AVOID you and yet be aggressive and pass you if you are going slow - TOCA did a decent job of this, but you could still park and hold up the entire group and yet get slammed back and forth and into walls. I guess atleast FM and GT4 provide consistency!
