Yeah, i finaly got the game... I dont know if its just me but the music in GT4 really sucks...

I don't know if polyphony read this board (i hope they do)

i felt it was a must to say it loud so they won't make the same mistake again in GT5 for the PS3.

The music selections in GT4 sucks so much that i had to turn it off.

Why in hell, did they had to pick old rock songs ???? van hallen, joe satriani. ??? OMG thats so old fashion...

Im a city nightclub guy and i can tell you that here nobody listen to these songs anymore.

Why didnt they hire a god damn real DJ !!! instead they used a supermarket music mix tape. I though Polyphony were rich.

Question:

Is the Mercedes Smart in the game ? anyone know ?

I can't find (buy) the Classic Shelby Cobra either, where did they put it ?

Lastly how are we supposed to do buy a Rally car with just 100k transfered from GT3A ?
After buying a skyline GT or something and boosting it you dont have much money left to buy a Rally car especially when they cost like 400k - 1.5 M each.

Aren' t we supposed to access Rally tracks right from the begining ? I don't recall having to work hard to access Rally tracks in GT3A.... unless there's an option in the interface menu that i missed.

To be honnest, i find GT3Aspec to be better than GT4 so far.

Dont get me wrong, GT4 is still the best racing game out there, im only voicing what i dislike to make it even better.

1. you know that htere is the jukebox screen on the GT mode main menu were you can change the playlist?

i think that the GT4 playlist is pretty god, since it does not consist entirely of on genre but consists various different ones from which you can create your own playlist.

2. no smart.

3. at shelby's in american hall or AC's in british hall.

4. you are not. simple as that.

5. its not that hard to get them and you can race them all in extreme conditions hall.

for the simple reason that Dj music, R&B, rap and all that goes on extreme racing games such as Need for Speed Underground or Midnight Club, and yeah Polyphony are rich. Just be happy with the game as you won't find anything better!

Why are you listening to music while you're racing, anyway? I turned off the music for GT4 before I ever got in a car.

I am wondering if the soundtrack for the different versions of the game (Pal, Ntsc etc) are different?
I have the PAL ver and I have songs from Queens of the stone age and The Hives and such...

Yes and no, I believe that all versions have the same tracks built in, but the ones that are selected by default are different for each region.

If you look at the jukebox you will see that a stack of tracks arent selected.

As for the "GT4 music suckz" , you are wrong, I am glad they didnt cram in all the "city club" dance bull**** rubbish, at least there is a nice mix of styles, heck theres even some classic in there :dopey:

Dan.

Music is just a matter of taste... just because a song is old doesn't mean it sucks right away. Also the argument about the music sucking because many people don't listen to it anymore is invalid. As a matter of fact, most music being played in clubs now IS the garbage I don't want to hear in this game either.

You aren't supposed to buy a rally car right away. Jesus, since you've owned GT3 you should know that Gran Turismo is all about working yourself up. You already got a headstart with the transfered credits and you're still whining that you didn't get enough.

👍 Music is cool. I absolutely love racing to Panama and Freewheel Burning. what could be better. In the Euro version as the user above says - there is also a good injection of new rock music. QOTSA, Franz, Hives.
Your 'DJ Music' would date this game faster than a 120bpm house track. :grumpy:

I didn't turn off the music, but I set it fairly low while doing the License Tests. I had enough problems without having to listen to "Oh, Yeah" over and over again.

I finally heard it for the first time while in a race when I drove the Volkswagen Karmann Ghia. I always drive in first person view, and you can't hear the engine in that car at all from this perspective.

I've listened to the music more since then, and I don't have any problems with it.

Dude whats ur problem. It just ruins the game to have them give everything to. I started this game with 0 transferred credits and I'm 44% dun with 3,000,000 creds.

Hi pod
welcome to GTP.
As many others I turn off the music while racing (exception being some of the classical music tracks when I go for fun on the Ring...but thats just me...). I need to hear the revs and the tyres to optimize my driving...
About the music list....everybody got a different taste... there are some newer songs I dont like, and I wish there were some better old ones as well.....(e.g Deep Purple, SEAL, Lynyrd Skynyrd, etc, etc.) So dont be annoyed, the game itself will more than make up for what you think it lacks in music choice.
The only ''songs' I dont like are the ones you have to listen to while you are in the various menues....
Enjoy your game!

Yeah, at least for some cars. On others, they screwed up the exhaust note.
;)

There's nothing, I mean NOTHING like VAN HALEN!!!!!! The best band ever by far! hands down. That's my opinion though.

Anything from Joe Satriani, Eddie Van Halen and Steve Vai is a great addition to any racing game!!!! Nobody plays electric guitar like them... (I hope they add Steve Vai next time...)

I'm not saying that I never listen to techno/electronic music, but you can't really assume that just because you and maybe your buddies don't listen to VH, they all the sudden suck.

I only have two songs on my playlist, What to believe by Daiki Kasho and Reason is treason by kasabian, even then its only for my replays as I can't race with music on, have to be able to hear my engine note etc. But why did PD have to make the intro music for the PAL version different from the japanese version? The intro music rocks, it just gets you in the mood for racing. At least they didn't use Feeder this time.

I think the music is great. :) I don't listen to it while I'm driving, but I set the replays to do music only (no sound effects). And I watch the replays almost as much as I race (so I can evaluate my lines and mistakes).

They've got a pretty wide selection of music in this game. So most players can find stuff they like and turn off the stuff they don't. I was surprised at all the tracks that were turned off _by default_ that I really loved. As I understand it, they're tracks from the Japanese version.

I do wish they had a better interface for selecting playlists though. Actually, I wish this (and other games) would group music by type... usually all I do when I buy a new game is turn off all the rap music. Usually all the rest of the music I will like (old or new).

Concur. Satriani is a god.

I don't think GT4 music tracks are bad.. what are u saying ? ? ?
It won't be the best soundtrack. but there are some very good tracks like, for example:
Feeder - Shatter
X-Ray Sun - (don't remember the title)
The Distillers - Drain The Blood
etc...

Hey Pod,
I can't agree that the music "sucks"....maybe your tastes do because any good DJ will tell you that "night club" Top 40's are the most annoying songs and they phase out faster than the BMW GTR can take the super speedway.
Different people, different tastes, you're just a little punk who can't appreciate different forms of art. Go buy yourself another game.

Me too, music off during racing, in every GT game.
But during replays I have the music on.
I have to say I dont like the music tracks either, only 3 or 4 tracks I like.

I don't think there is a video game out there with metro-sexual music? You metro-sexuals always amaze me..............I didn't think you were interested in video games!!

yep, gt4 soundtrack sucks :)

It is well known that the Japenese culture is very isolated and totally different than us.

They probably though we (occidental people) were all caveman with long hair or something...

Well,
I dont think ALL of the music sucks... but some of it definatly does....
I decided to shut of the ingame music and crank the sound f/x up... lol ....with my home theather setup its almost scary when you turn it up...... :)

I ONLY listens to the rock songs in GT4. I had to get rid of all the other crap, all that "club" music gives me a headache ;)

I think it is great that they have so much different music and that you can make your own playlists.

You are obviously 15, just got your first pair of crappy tables, and now think you are the sh** because you are a "DJ". Any real self-respecting DJ or producer can appreciate all kinds of music. I like the fact that they put in a nice wide range of music and allowed everyone to tailor thier own playlits. I was even plesantly surprised to see tracks in the game from Diselboy (greatest DnB DJ/Producer out right now) and Less Than Jake (a great punk band that I've been listening too since Good Charlotte and the likes were still in Kindergarden)
