I'd like to get a CD or MP3's or something of the GT4 music. Does anyone know if the GT4 music is available on its own as an album? Or if there's any way to get it digitally off the GT4 disc?

I have good recording equipment, and I can make good recordings of it through analog. But it takes work, and it's still not as good as staying digital. I did that to make a CD of the music from Spy Hunter... I love the spy music! :) Bad to play in the car though... makes me drive way too fast... and I keep trying to find the machine gun triggers on my steering wheel...

Now hold on just a minute, can't you just play your music on a seperate CD player? That might solve some problems.

As for a Mercedes Smart, there are no smart cars, just smart drivers.

They have rally cars for 100K?*

Actually

Smarts put their money into realestate not into cars.

turn of the music in the game and turn on the radio or a cd player! wow...that wasn't hard

And what if we don't have a radio around ? can we do that in GT5 too ?

Why spend extra green on electricity bill ?

I have a better solution, add better sound track in GT5.. now thats what i call a solution.

I'd usually stay out of arguments, but for some reason I feel like I should say something. But if I'm putting this the wrong way in what I'm saying, to the admins and mods, just get rid of my post... but...

Okay... better in what direction? The soundtrack could go in what you may like to the nth degree, but to many others it could be crap. If I didn't say it before, what is good or bad is subjective. I understand to an extent what you're saying, but think again, PD tried (and to a degree of success) to appeal to many, they knew they could not appeal to EVERYONE, or even a particular person, i see what you mean by the electricity bill, I dunno, some stuff you just have to deal with or whatever. What's good or not is subjective.

Not to sound like a --- myself, but what tracks would YOU suggest as good for GT5?

I mean, okay, why not that? Ideas for what could be good GT5 song tracks... I have a few examples I already said...

Soul Coughing - Super Bon Bon
Ash - lose Control
Beck - Where it's at
Daiki Kasko - Obscure
Daiki Kasho - Strike Barrier
Daiki Kasho - What to believe
Daiki Kasko - Break down (did I forget to mention I like Daiki Kasho to an extent :) )
Lenny Kraviz - Where are we runnin?
Lenny Kraviz - Are you going my way? (GT3 Remix, and origional)
James Brown - (Call me) Super Bad (GT4 remix and origional)
Boom Boom Satilites (I know I spelled that wrong but...) - Fogbound
Kotha - Daredevil
U - Tsui Tsui
ATB - You're not alone
Notorious B.I.G. Feat Bone Thugz N Harmony - Notorious Thugz
Alice in chains - Them bones
Alien Ant Farm - Movies
Blur - Song 2
The white stripes - Fell in love with a girl

just a FEW of many examples I could think of a number unlikley to get into GT5 for a number of reasons... Notorious Thugz would probably not make it becuase of the excessive use of swaring, also mention of drug use and other not so acceptable words.
Dare Devil and Tsui Tsui would be unlikley also becuae they are already in Ridge Racer V, and some of the others becuae they already have been used though it would not hurt to try again (besides, Def Beat by Junkie XL was in Test Drive 5, and Need for Speed High stakes before I stumbled on it on GT3... I like that song a lot too)...

Again, my bad if I just happen to get any negative feelings out of ya for saying whatever, that's just how I look at the situation anyway, just give maybe some examples perhaps, see how others resond, maybe that will answer some questions, I don't know, you tell me.

Geeze... I hope not to make a habbit of this...it will probably happen anyway but...

Till later.

^well said

and i'd have the ash and feeder songs from Gt1 too, along with the whole GT3 and GT4 soundtrack. the GT3 one was ace :D

oh and some more muse :D

GT4 is one of the best selections of music of any ps2 game bar the GTA series. They have a nice selection of all genre's, they also have music that will not date the game, (like stoopid disco **** which was mentioned earlier by some other person), i think GT4 was tring to appeal to all music tastes, and that they almost did (except for the people who are overly picky about thier music).

As for whinging about electricity costs of using a stereo... *cough*.. need i explain the lame'ness?.

Lets resume this typical selfish point of view also known as : One man's meat is another's poison proverb.

To make it easy lets divide this into two clans for the moment,
Clan Anti-Metal 👍 vs Clan Pro Metal 👎

According to this metal guy, The Pro-Metal clan beleive that everything is equally fair here. Using an external radio source is no big deal for the other except for himself.

1)The Pro-Metal clan don't use a radio to run this game while the Anti-metal do.
in fact, they dont even need to stop the music, cuz the in-game interface does it automatically.

2)Pro-Metal can travel light by just carrying their PS2 or PSP. while the Anti-Metal has to carry all kind of devices and cables to hook an external radio/MP3.

3)An Anti Metal has to spend on extra electricity bill or battery while ProMetal dont have to.

This is ofcourse presuming that every Anti Metal own a radio system or MP3 device.

Not to mention that outsourced music tracks are not sync with the UI ( user interface ). That means you'll have your music playing even in the garage and selection screen.

No big deal ?

If its not such a big deal then lets do it this way,

Lets reverse the role a little bit...

You metal hairy boys you bring your radio, while we anti metal travel light.

....One man's meat is another's poison resume it all. Affraid to lose something you have ?

Im by no means a metal fan, just to clarify that.

i was meerly trying to prove that people are taking this too far. If you realy are that passionate about NOT listening to the music that comes standard with GT4, which caters for many genres, then youll take your time in making sure that you have an mp3 or radio or watever. I cant believe that you think that the standard tracks are that terrible that you need to resort to so much complaining @_@.

You're really going too far mate. From what you have already read or heard most of this "Clan Pro Metal" don't listen to most of the in game music. In case you didn't realise, by the way, most of what you've called "metal" music in the game would be classed as rock, not metal, at least if it was released now. Who cares if you have to listen to your own music instead of the garage screen? I know that I'd rather hear Muse than that jazzy menu screen stuff any day.
You make it sound like such a big deal that you'd have to carry "all sorts of wires and devices" to listen to, per se, an .mp3 player. That's a bit over the top. It's an .mp3 player, some speakers, and maybe a mains plug, but you could just run it off the battery that should last about 10 hours if you've got anything worth speaking of. No problem then. That's one or at most two cables, and two devices (mp3 and headphones/speakers).
Also, before you said whinging about a person or group of people, or insulting that group was worse than complaining about a product. You complained when metal fans took offence. Then you called us "Metal Hairy Boys." Don't be such a hypocrite. There's no need to aim insults at people, especially when you've just complained when other people have done it to you. Take the rough with the smooth man, or shut up.

Anyway, basically, PD have done as well as they could to fit different styles in GT, from Breakbeat, to Dance, to Heavy Rock. If you don't fit into any of these groups, you are very likely to be a bit of an anomaly. And PD can't cater for every anomaly.

Besides, why come in here and try and basically hint and insinuate that the music many people here listen to sucks. Why not go and tell some lions that meat sucks, why not all become veggie, huh?

I expect half the people here have gt4 running through an external set of speakers, and not the ones on their tvs. Simply have gt4 through your tv, and play some decent music on your sound system.

Also, iPods for example, charge from your pc or a usb port, so if you use one of those, you're not actually using any more power in the first place.

Pro-Metal/Anti-Metal pap.

Theres all of one metal song on the soundtrack, but it doesn't count, as it's Papa Roach

The music in the game tries to cater for everyone, it's got different styles of rock, different styles of dance music (techno, trance, drum and bass), electro rock for those who like both and even classical music.

I think the guys who made the soundtrack deserve a round of applause, they put together a great selection of tracks suitable for all tastes, each a great driving song.

I think you deserve a smack on the chops though, for being so ignorant towards peoples tastes in music and so stupid to not turn the game music off and use a cd player/decks/whatever.... it's not going to add much to your power bill at all.

I though metal rock people were proud to have long hair ?!?. Why take it as an insult if youre proud of yourself ? ugh, You should be proud of yourself...
It wasnt an insult btw, marely a description.

Why not tell lions to eat viggies ? well first, Lions are primitive so why waste time ? Wait a second, do you consider yourself lion ? :)
beside nobody want to endup in a lion's stomach.

to answer your question, i'll probably tell the nearest farmer to produce and sell more viggies and to let know everyone that viggies are good nutrients

Btw, next time you go to costco/walmart do me a favor, buy me about 200 AAA batteries. I dont recall how much they cost, probably around 3 bucks a pair of duracell. 3 bucks x 100 or 200 thats 300.00 bucks and more a year.

Not that im greedy but why should 1 group spend extra buck and the other group do not ? Tell me one good reason that 1 group needs to spend extra bucks.

Not a big deal i agree, so buy me 100 Duracells and an Mp3 portable + Speaker base.

You shouldn't mind buying me thses annoying gadgets cuz its no big deal like you said.

Actually, only stupid people don't see that this attitude comes from a selfish point of view.

Using your own satisfaction to build arguments out of it to avoid the real solution to the problem. Like telling someone to turn off music thus not having any music.

I start to wonder if im not talking to a bunch of students fanboys who just dream to work at PD.

If that is the case, no wonder why i see all kind of non-sense illogical solutions.

BTW, i was told that PD are going to put better sound tracks in GT5 apparently. it'll be less rock and more actual trend.

Apparently many people didn't like the music tracks in GT4 either.

I just put my winamp on shuffle and 100+Gb of divine music will accompany my GT4 races for years to come.....

btw, at first when I listened to the GT4 playlist, It seemed to play Franz Ferdinads "Michael" for like every second race - made me hate that song... :[

OMG and you want to be an IT tech, i knew i was talking to a computer guy lol

Ok ill ease my arguments so you can understand better.

Youre selfish because you beleive that its perfectly normal for you to have the priviledge not having to turn off the music and enjoy whatever might be in the game and for the rest who wish to have music to use external source.

Non-selfish would equilibrate the issue but not you.

I dont recall having said that listening to your own music was illogical. Again you just listen to only what you wish to listen. So ill make it easy for mr IT .
Whats illogical is that you tell those who dislike the ingame music to turn the music off when the idea is to have their music within the game as much as you have yours.

As far as i know, in the IT industry you begin by fixing the problem at the source, you dont patch them with workaround .

Who said i was listening to dance ? i dont recall having said that either.. ?!?

I also respect dance people out there, and because selfishness isnt in my philosophy i beleive GT5 should also satisfy their needs to their in-game music tracks.

lol

Pod, old cobber, old giffer, old mate.

How wrong you seem to be on so many accounts.

actual trend
Well that for one thing is subjective to location, isn't it.

I though metal rock people were proud to have long hair ?!?.
I'm very proud. It doesn't make me hairy though does it. Hairy somehow doesn't seem to imply a good or neutral thing. You make it sound like I'm covered from head to toe in hair, like my cat. Also, the word hairy conjures up an image of a big mass of greasy poop. Which my beautiful (ho ho ho) locks most certainly are not! *Pouts.*

Btw, next time you go to costco/walmart do me a favor, buy me about 200 AAA batteries. I dont recall how much they cost, probably around 3 bucks a pair of duracell. 3 bucks x 100 or 200 thats 300.00 bucks and more a year.
Is it me, or do they sell rechargeable batteries these days? Why sure they do! And I said if you had an .mp3 player worth speaking of. That would use a lithium battery. Which would be rechargeable. Besides. Why should I buy your batteries? It's not me that wants them. Besides I already buy my own, because the music in GT4 isn't as heavy as my tastes. Why should I buy yours also? I already buy my own, you could do the same.

BTW, i was told that PD are going to put better sound tracks in GT5 apparently. it'll be less rock and more actual trend.

Apparently many people didn't like the music tracks in GT4 either.
If this is the case, stop complaining because you've got what you want. By the way, there is actually no such thing as 'better' music. You may have preferences, but no-one has the right to call one genre better than another. Finally if all these people dislike the soundtrack for GT4, then they've managed to express it far less disruptively than your Royal Highness.

students fanboys
Why can't you make a single post without sneering at someone? Do you think you're so much better than everyone else?

Why not tell lions to eat viggies ? well first, Lions are primitive so why waste time ? Wait a second, do you consider yourself lion ?
No I do not. I used the metaphor to describe the fact you seem to be trying to talk a load of metal fans round to your point of view. It's not going to happen. Music taste is stubborn. You'll find it about as difficult to feed a lion your best GM cucumber salad with cherry tomatoes.

I must leave now for my wood dosage.

Toodle-oo

if the game was full of dance music i would hate it. its already full of civics and skylines, we dont need crappy processed looped beats that take no talent to make do we?!?! and trends die fast. people realise that dance music is all the same, and that rock in any form has been innovating since the 70's, dance has been the same. for all the effort it takes to turn BGM off in the game and just have a ipod or silimar on repeat for songs...i mean, ffs, theyre not FORCING you to listen to the songs. they cant just go out and grab any song they want and play it in GT4 can they?

👍 Music is cool. I absolutely love racing to Panama and Freewheel Burning.

And those are the only two tracks worth anything. They really should have ditched the in-game music entirely and used the extra couple megs of memory for something useful.

This is not only to that quote but to the other people too...

I'm just getting this feeling I should just shut up, and not say anyting, even if it's not in an offending matter... but...

Again... if my words fall on some deaf ears. It's all subjective like your idea. But if they ditched the ingame music, you do realize a number of people would be upset, even if it's to something else. Again, PD tires, I think they did a good job, some music is better than none, if there was crappy music for a game, I never bothered to note it before, plus what is good or not is subjective, though I already said that.

Pod, searoulsy, I feel like you are taking this a bit too much, maybe it's just me, you don't like it, just switch it off and have some MP3 player or something, can't be THAT much a hassle though I dunno, I already like the music and I have much more on my computer for a given period. I'd say more on that but...

Chinko's been preaty good with replies, since he has some good points, my only slight (emphasis on slight, take it not the wrong way)... I can see what you mean, since at times even though I'm a fan of dance music (and general techno, and rock, and jaz, and rab/rnb, blues, etc), it would get tiring, variety helps, not just onto one or two general themes, not to say that would never work, though I dunno, some beats do seam simple, others over-used again and again, some I do like halfway to death (Mijk van Dijk's 'Burnout' for RRV is fun to hear... also his remix of 'Junx' origionally done by Kotha is also something I like... and I also like RareHerlo 2000 by Danodg which are all to an extent techno trance songs that could be danced too...)...although I see what you mean also too.

I feel like though, vareity helps, even if you don't always absoultely get what you want, plus it dosen't hurt (much) to try out new songs, even for some cases like GT4. Maybe it's the fact I listen to a lot of songs on my computer and I do at times want to hear the GT music be it 1, 2, 3 or 4, or from Need for Speed (undegroundd included even... I say even becuase though NFSU is fun... espically 2... not the biggest fan though...I want to try Midnight Club 3 though...), Test drive, etc...

Just well... I don't know what else to say, I said what I felt was necessary before and well... I feel like just staying out of this from hwere on in, but that's just me. I'm sure I've done something wrong... oh well, life goes on I guess.

Till later

EDIT: as for the last two replies... ah... please take it not the wrong way...

I'd prob only ask for more RWD Skyline models, we have quite enough GTR's, be it the classic or the more modern very potent (and rather unfornate for some true fans, over-rated) GTR models be it the 4WD or even the LM R33 RWD or the ones in Japan GT. Aside from some more American cars, not just muscle cars either, like the Cobalt SS and the CTS-V... well technically the CTS-V would actually be a muscle car on some basis it has the same LS6 as the Z06... though it's more likley to take on say an M5 than a Viper SRT-10...

Gah, just me anyway... ignore it if necessary...

i can stand prodigy, i really like them TBH, the rest i get tired of. its just i dont like people complaining on something they can turn off easily, and heck, i turned off the GTA music and ran my mp3 player thu my amp. shooting people to metallica cannot be beaten

Nah somehow i don't beleive you, there's something contradicting in your post. I think you were trying to peace everyone... didn't you ?

You said, can't be THAT much a hassle though you dunno. That's because you don't know at all.. you didn't try.
You didn't try because you said you like varieties thus Rock Metal and you own a PC which i suspect is near your PS2.

you don't have the same lifestyle that i do. I carry my PS2 around alot. Places that i go don't always have a PC or a stereo. So i need it simple. Plug and play. Thats it.

Not to mention that mp3 devices require batteries that you have to either recharge or buy. and your Headphones that tend to bubble your surrounding area.

It is a asshle for people who travel with their PS2 especially those who wish to travel very light. In fact, its so much a asshle that in the end you end up playing without the music anyway.

What if someone play on PSP while im driving for real ? should i endure the noise coming from that PSP ? What if im not authorized to ask that person to turn of the music ? there are plenty of scenario where using MP3 isnt an option.

The only option i see, is to add more music tracks into Gt5 or to remove every music. No music would actually be fair for almost everyone.

But we're misleading here, the point is, by adding more music tracks Polyphony will eventually meet everyone's satisfaction.
Telling someone to turn off the music is a fake solution to a fake problem.

Problems:

1) must have music on
2) Cannot use Mp3 devices including PC
3) must travel light
4) can't listen to any of the selection in GT4
5) Must play GT4

Solution:

Actually there is none, except hopping GT5 wont be meant for old hairy rockers..

Thankfully, The PS3 will have Blue Ray which mean alot more contents for everyone.

BTW, im not mad, i just enjoy playing with the fellow hairy neighbours... they reminds my highschool. I though metal rockers were extinct untill i got GT4.
:)

i think you mean extinct? :| and PD have always catered for both sides, GT1 had 5 or 6 rock and 4 or 5 dance IIRC
