Just one thing.
If you don't want to save your game, take out your memory card (any point during the game except saving and loading time), have fun.
Then reset PS2 when you are done.
I didn't even bother turning auto-save on or off. Thought it was a common sense.
Anyway now I prefer autosave

The thing is that the game automatically saves if you buy a car, even if you only want to test the car. And if you pull out the MemCard priorly, the game will give you an error message and refuse to continue.

Cheers,
the Interceptor

Yep if you don't have a memory card inserted you can't do anything in your garage like change cars or anything.

No cheats used whatsoever.

If you look in some of my threads you'll see thanks pointed at "The ProfessorR". He's my buddy who is doing parallel testing of various aspects of PAL version. As he has all the time in the world for GT4 at the moment, info about the completition percentage cars, as well as info about no-endurance save has come from him. Today he sucesffuly reached 50% and 700th day and he bought BlackBeauties.

So take this UPDATE too: Special Black Cars (mazda, 2 Nissans and GT-One) are in PAL in the same period of week after the 694th day:).

On the other side, all other info is mine, since I tend to progress slower (and notice that I also did golding the Licences while he has not) in goal to find all the differencies between Asian and PAL version, as a owner of both, together with all the comparasions and other intresting info.

For the information, we both have the game for almost 2 weeks. He also did lots of B-Specing, so take that into account when thinking about the longitivity of the game. I can assure you, GT4 is a freaking big game and by far the biggest game I've ever seen on console, including Front Mission 3 or even FFVII. Only bigger game I know is Elite, but please, sustain form comparation of those two:).

Thanks for clearing that up, much appreciated.

Is it the power after an oil change that stands on the right?

When you enter a vehicle into an arcade race or time trial, the real power figure is shown next to each car on the entry list. This is the best way to compare the respective power values, as it does away with the inconsistency that comes with GT Mode. No oil engine gains or losses, these are the raw figures that PD works with. Further, the method is helpful as it gives the power figures for cars that don’t state in it GT mode or arcade/dealer selection screens. (The Mac F1 falls into this category)

As for the inflated nature of the power figures, It is my view that PD are simply quoting the qualifying power output of the group C cars, and the engine power of the newer LM cars without the sapping air restrictors (power limiters). Eg: Nissan R92CP often raced with around 800 horses, yet it is well documented that it would qualify with around 1000. In the case of a newer vehicle, the Speed 8 has around 600 at Lemans, yet without the air restrictors it would be making around 800.

ok I understand now. So the Pug 905 will be far more powerful than these 512hp shown in the showroom. Great :)

Pleased to have enlightened you.

For those who desire more info:
In regard to the concerns about the power output of the Pug 905...have no fear it will be making over 700. The figure shown in the dealer/arcade selection screen is simply the figure that has been publicly quoted by the manufacturer and is essentially useless.

If people are wondering how the modestly powered Peugeot 905 could be faster than the super powered group Cs…
In comparison of pole qualifying lap times between 1990 and 1992 at the 24 Hours of Le Mans: In 1990, it took the pole qualifying Nissan R90CK turbo car 3 minutes and 27.00 seconds to travel the 8.45 mile circuit at an average speed of 146 miles per hour. In 1992 the pole sitting Peugeot 905B non-turbo car qualified in 3 minutes and 21.21 seconds at an average speed of 151 mile per hour. The Peugeot 905B was quicker over the lap, but the Nissan R90C had a higher top speed at the fastest point on the track, 236 miles per hour versus 220 miles per hour. In analysis, the Nissan R90CK was supposedly developing more than 1000 horespower in qualifying trim while the Peugeot's engine was good for about 715 . An additional difference was that the Peugeot weighed nearly 300 pounds less (1700 lbs. vs. 2000 lbs. for the Nissan) and therefore its braking distances were shorter. But the essential difference was that of the Peugeot's overall aerodynamic superiority over the Nissan and that allowed the 905 to lap faster than the R90CK. The Peugeot did not go quicker over the lap by driving slowly through the corners.

Hence, the aerodynamic developments of the past were refined even further, and the early 1990s sport prototypes, which had less horsepower than a turbocharged 1980s prototype, were even faster.

You're right indeed, I was worry because I thought that the 905 (wich was the fastest LM car) with only 512BHP wouldn't keep up with the other LM cars.
I remerbered that the 905evo was over 700hp and weight 750kg so these 512 hp bothered me. Thank you again for the explaination.

No trouble at all hobbes.

XJR9 is being given for 50% completition of the game. Specs for the beast are as follows:
(All values will be stated in BHP) Initail power before oil change is 928BHP. After oil change increases to 974 BHP. Weight is 894 kg in GT or Arcade mode. In Arcade Showroom it figures 749 BHP. Before Arcade race shows 914BHP. Selling price is 743,749 Cr.

Amar, great to see the in game specs of the XJR-9 LM…thankyou.

hey Amar, thx alot for all the updates you given us, its been really great to have an "insider" to show us what we all have been waiting for so long. I started playing GT3 a month ago and im 85% finished, i hope to finish it completely before March 9, i dont think i will succeed but you difinately made me have a go at it. Man im really exited to get my hands on GT4 now, GT3 looks great and plays great so if GT4 is just more of the same but with better graphics and physics thats cool, couldnt be better if you asked me.

someone help me out here. I'm trying to get the best and most realistic experience of gt4, I got the wheel. Now I cut off all aid but I noticed power steering and active steering on in my wheel options. Should I cut both of those options off or leave them on? Also I drive pro, should I drive simulation? And no more thing, I got a old school rx7 with like 200 hp but I can't really do burn outs in it. Can someone help me?

Cobra, your queries have nothing to do with the release or content of the Pal version. I suggest that you take your general NTSC/american questions elsewhere.

Cobra being american shouldn't have nothing to do with his wrongful thread question, Why not just tell him to beat it to the correct thread, A font racial fight doesn't make a lot of sense and that's what your inviting!

Hmm, racial? I was pointing out that his question related to the NTSC/American version of GT4. My statement has nothing to do with his nationality; rather it is concerned with the region of the game. Incidentally, you may want to reacquaint yourself with the concepts of race and nationality.

NTSC-J or NTSC/Japanese are the same thing...........it's the NTSC format of display and is the Japanese version of the game.

NTSC-A or NTSC/American are the same thing...........it's the NTSC format of display and is the american version of the game.

PAL is just.......PAL because there usually aren't different versions of it.

Maybe you need to rethink how you view others. You assumed he was saying a racial issue. Are you one of those guys or girls who if someone asks if you'd like your coffee with extra cream because you are white (or none because you are black)you flip out and ask "WHY? BECAUSE I'M BLACK? (or white)"

I asked my Japanese buddy if the new car he bought was yellow, he didn't flip thinking I hate the asian culture...........

Chill dude. Not everyone is racist. Are you?

There is little need for this discussion to continue. Simply put, Hybrid misconstrued the meaning of post 976, and I have since clarified the statement for his benefit. It is in all of our interests that we return to the topic.

, some people here have no idea how to interpret posts.

Well, from the looks of things PAL is better than NTSC, woot. As long as its better than i dont mind waiting a bit longer.

Do you know what I find truly and utterly sadistic? Metal Gear Solid 3 being released at the same time as GT4. What am I gonna do?? :scared:

Buy both maybe? I will. By the time GT4 comes out, I'll already finished MGS3. Then when I have GT4, I'll switch them to keep a bit variety. :)

Also, I kinda hope the Sauber C9 is gonna be the 75% completion bonus car, and the 100% completion will maybe the Polyphony F1 bonus car. Would be logic though... :dopey:

Yes, the Red #1 is availablle along with #2 Yellow.

BTW, I'm sure this has been said many times, but to remind the new members, the cars in PAL are in the NTSC.

The XJR-9,Peugeot, HPA, all of those. The only one I haven't seen in the NTSC is the Eclipse 2005.
Read agian, i said is it possible to BUY them, i alraedy know they are still in the game.

I'm not sure that the F1 car would be a 100% prize seeing as you should be using an F1 car in the "Formula Gran Turismo World Championship". Basically, you need to own one before 100% complete. :)

Hope I dont have to wait until 100% for the C9 though!

First images of the pug. Power in garage: 810 horses. 1007 available with stage 4 turbo. As noted...power will not be an issue.

Edit: first clear garage shot of the PAL 905.
