Thanks for the comments! 👍 Looks like we all have strong images in our heads what 80's looked like, at least in pop culture.

Anyway, my first idea for a 80's theme was try to capture some sort of 'Hill Street Blues' look. But it turns out there's not a single american car in GT4 from early 80's or even late 70's (??) Then there is of course the most 80's thing of them all, the Top Gun movie Ok, not really doable in GT4, or maybe someone figures it out.

HAHAHA!!! I think Porsche & BMW are the only ones who made it through the 80's without producing hideous cars....

And yet the Lamborghini Countach and Ferrari F40 ate most of their cars alive excluding the 959.

Oh come on.... don't tell me you didn't secretly love listening to Flock of Seaguls J/k... yeah some of the music was horrible, but there are a few classics as well .

If I remember right... the camaro concept car is an 80's car.... definatly looks the part.

Not to mention a certain other GM product that only seems to come in black...
He does have a point though. There should be at least two other cars listed as being from the 80's that aren't (Vette ZR-1 and DeLorean).

So a quick question: We can use a model that was introduced in the 80's, even if the model year in the game is from a later year? For example, the 300ZX would be acceptable in either the '89 or '98? Because I thought the ZR-1 in the game is a 90's car :-/

I doubt it. I just said that because the ZR-1 was actually introduced in '89.

don't quote me on this, but I’m sure the 98' model 300ZX has a different front bar to the 89' model in game.... i know that in real life it definitely does...

only cars should be used that indicate 80's manufacturing in the game.... It will get too confusing otherwise.... I didn't realise the DeLorean is not considered 80's in game, that’s a shame as I feel that it epitomises the 80's the best.

Unfortunately it will get really confusing and probably cause arguments and what not, if I allow cars that the game doesn’t specifically say 80's. I want everyone to enjoy the challenge of the comp.....

Oh, don't get me wrong Syntax, I agree; that's why I was wondering. I figured it'd be extremely confusing otherwise. Though, iirc the oldest NSX is a Honda '90... that also wouldn't count then, even if it was built in the '89?

Yeah, the '98 is definitely different from the '89 Z, the front bumper is all body-coloured (not to mention different shapes), and the rear lights are different too.

Either way, I've got a few good ideas for this

Only $662,686? You gotta get to like level 100 in the vigilante missions with the Rhino Tank! Earn Millions! Turn the turret around and continuously shoot the canon to acheive incredible speeds and get incredible distance off of jumps! HAHA! That game is a blast! (Way off topic!)

That's because Porche only has ONE design!!!! (well, they did have other's, very old one's, you know, but you know what I mean).
I don't know about BMW. I guess it's true they don't really have these truly horrible ones, but I do think they came pretty close.
