CivMight as well give this a go. I used the Golf GTI and went with a clean mag cover look. I hate cluttered covers. 2 versions - 1 has some motion blur in it.
My favorite so far, although the aston martin in the corner could have done with a shadow

Looks good!! Only suggestion I might say is to stroke the GTI text or do something to make it stand out. Looks kinda flat. Other than that, looks really well done 👍
Oh and add that shadow to the Nuvolari.

Just surfing thorugh and I like what I see!
I was working on a newsletter in my DDT class before I registered here and made "greeked" newsletter. None of the articles are real but the photos I put in are nice. Neads a letter-head and some other stuff so I'm not gonna post it yet. I'm supposed to be doing something else.... LOL
I may get around to participating in this contest using GIMP. Anyone else use that program?

I like this one. The only thing that looks a bit off is the second "dot" before the M. It seems to be a bit close. Other then that, it's very nice!CivThanks for the feedback guys. I've now made some modifications, like adding shadows and just making some things stand out more.

Hey, what is up fellas? Sorry I have'nt been around the last couple of days, but I have been pretty busy with school all this last week. I have been working on a final project, 120 page cook book that I fully designed, printed, and bound, and I am finally finished with it!!!
So I'll probably take a few pics tonight and try and get a few ideas of what I may wanna do, as well as snap a few shots of an MR car for the other comp. And some very nice looking entries this week BTW! Very nice Vicious VP, and Civ!👍

I am still doing the mod for my main car
just spend a whole day for a pair of doors and patching the body
think I should post a preview for my car ... Spyker spider
It's almost done ... just need 2 more hours for the mod
and then the cover design will follow .... shouldn't take too long

Hmm, it's getting better but it needs a "clean up". You could play down the very bright gradients imo as they're too overwhelming. Try getting rid off the yellow glow on all the text too.eastleyUmmmmmmm, what about this one?
Another thing to consider is to move the main story heading (BMW M3 CSL) up or have the secondary story headings a bit smaller and off to the right somewhere.
I've now made some more slight modifications to my cover. I took Easy$$'s and Vicious VP's tips and applied them to the cover. I think this will be my final entry, unless someone suggests any other fixes. Last note - one has the word "GTI" in red, which Vicious suggested, but I thought that having the mag's header and GTI in red kinda "clashed" as there would be too much red, which is why I went with the grey. Which one looks best?

Just to help out, I can say that from previous criticism I received in week 1, the black cover car is the "kiss of death". The cover has to be really good in order to overcome the black car.
What might be a good alternative in the future is take a different color car, say laguna blue or phoenix yellow (which kind of follows your theme already) and match your Mag logo color to the car (with a little gradient fade similar to what you already have). I personally think that with some tweaking that cover could be very well done.
You've got a lot of creativity eastley. It's nice to watch artists progress as they learn. I'm doing that myself but I don't get to see the progression without searching my old folders.

I wish I was able to enter this week, but I left my flash card at work, and that place is on lockdown and it's 62 miles away.
I would have used the many many pics I took already, but I didn't really take enough of european cars. So i'm out this week, this sucks.
btw. Civ, that's a really nice cover, it will probably win, good job.
