What is the Network load? Can you adjust that setting to make the game run more smoothly?

something to do with like.. a stream buffer maybe ? like with streaming media players. but since its already set to large we probably can't get it any bigger. unless there is an extra large

_3000GTi allready change'd that few times...it didnt show any big effects.
So i dont think that will help. Our problem is still....just low ping for online gaming
I played for 6 hours with FlyOut (and TFX), one-on-one, we had pings averaging around 33-34ms and had hardly any lag (first race was even completely lagless). I saved some movies of them (captured with digicam from tv, but still decent) - my hosting capacity is already almost over (posted them on other sites), but if someone can host something I'll be happy to hand them over. They are from some pretty close racing, one nice one with two Motul Zs on Laguna (32mb mpeg4), two 270Rs on Monaco (24mb), and two Cusco Impreza's on Deep Forest (12mb).

on a side note: its quite possible that once we get the game in europe, and TD can do some tests with it, he'll get it running smoother. Maybe you could help us do some tests?

now I have everything up and running, ready to go, and i have done some test but my ping is only 100 ( more or less ), so in every racings the lag is hard
so........ i'm very glad to play with you and FlyOut and TFX etc., but i'm afraid that my ping is not so good for you.................

i think i read on the xlink forum that it doesnt make any difference... and wow where are all the USA players. some people MUST have GT4... int he USA, and are on xLink. where are you guys !!?? i am achin' to play online ! i saw on the xlink forum two people in NYC who have GT4 and are online with it, but I have been unable to find them ! anyone know their whereabouts ?? or how i could contact them ?

Between Flyout and me (abman) we share a ping value between 40-50ms. We had a race yesterday on Nurburgring and i've recorded it for you guys to understand what 40-50ms is like. Flyout is in R33 stock, and im in R34 stock , both TCS bla bla off, both with N3 tyres.

i've recorded the race and after it shows the replay. I must warn you it's about 40 odd minutes long and about 100mb, sorry for all you 56k dial ups. this clip will stay online for about 6 more days.
Oh and you might find the screen a bit squashed because i forgot to set the record mode to widescreen.. Sorry!

just got in from shoveling the snow out from my driveway and watched the movie. looks great guys, i didn't notice any lag at all ! i didn't watch the whole thing. shhh. just abour 5 minutes of it, but it looks great. later !

We made a test with Pricer and VV, ping 75-80 ms (xlink). Well it's slow, but we were getting used to it.
It's a shame, it's just missing a tiny amount and it may become playable, because it's not much slower (~10%) when we are 3 together then when we are 2.
I (manually) timed 10 seconds in the game and in real.
2 players (Pricer and me), 10 second in the game means 15.5 seconds in reality
3 players (Pricer, VV and me), 10s = 17s in reality.
It's a shame, it's just missing a tiny amount and it may become playable, because it's not much slower (~10%) when we are 3 together then when we are 2.

:edit: i see the other thread you posted, Hajaz, and it answered my question here about ethereal. yep so never mind this post. i won't be able to contribute to the testing and recording of xlink games until i can find someone with a reasonable ping. Where are you USA Players ? -Later

One thing I noticed when testing with some folks from HK.
The Lag can also be more if foks pick a track that has more Data/geometry near the road/path. laguna/Infineon have more geometry/objects near the vehicles path and in our case tend to make the game slower.
Fuji with its wide open road and hills in the background ran much quicker.
Or maybe it was just luck of the draw that day, with the lag.
I would hope other can test this theory out.
