Wow, I've been waiting for somebody to collate all the locations seen so far 👍. I don't think any information has been released yet on the remaining locations but you never know.

Did you see the GT4 picture that featured the TVR Tuscan in an Autumn setting (the return of Autumn Valley?)? I'm sure GT is putting in as much as possible. Even if you race a rally car around Sweden's natural snow areas with a nice aurora in the distance (for more on night racing, check out my "Lighting and Night Racing" thread), there will be at least one environment for each GT fan.

I want to make a shout-out to Zer0 here. Did a hell of a job compiling this picture up on this page. And I guess to impress tuner car fans, the outlining of it is done in carbon fiber. I still think that by the time GT4 comes out, I want people to rent or own GTs 1, 2, and 3 before playing this one. Why? To see how far Gran Turismo has come. Each GT has been better than the last in at least one respect. All these different venues encompass America, Europe, and Japan. What would tick off my Australian buddies would be no inclusion of Australia. I mean, I seen pictures of Sydney, Adelaide, Surfer's Paradise, and even Mount Panorama (correct spelling?). Australia really needs to be put on the GT map. Tickford won't be enough. You HAVE to include Holden, otherwise, having Ford Australia would be pointless.

South America can use some love too. What about a rally setting in the Amazon? A hot day on the Copacabana Beach with hot ladies in Brazilian bikinis and Sugar Loaf Mountain in the distance? Some places just need a little love for GT4.

I have until November to dream about how I want to take my pictures of my rides...

That's quite the nice collation of pics.

I personally don't feel we have many if any international quality race circuits so track wise Australia's absence doesn't bug me. I also don't like the whole V8 culture here. You spelt Mount Panorama fine.

What's with all the question marks? Unknown, unconfirmed?

Your thinking of Nanzneji, not Autumn Ring, but I'd be glad for Autumn Ring to be in too!

Don't we all!

Not sure but I've taken a capture from the e3 2003 video (The Twin Towers can be seen on New York). I think it's San Marco because of the same style lamp in in both the capture and GT4 San Marco images. Check the attachment, you'll recognise the picture. I've increased the brightness to see the dark areas better but nothing special.

The ones in the left or right = No pictures avaliable
The ones in the middle = Speculative pictures
The ones in the location name = Unknown or possible location

Yes it's San Marco seen from another angle.

I quite like the Australian F1 track though... It's better than quite a few of the tracks I think.

Melbournes not bad but I think Adelaide was more interesting for the most part, I can't remember being truly excited by a Melbourne race in years.

Fair enough... I have to say I like the scenery for it though... Racing next to the open sea is pretty nice... (I really hope I'm talking about the right track here!!)

yeti, i think you´re talking about phillip island (near melb.), the melbourne f1 track is in downtown melbourne - there´s a little lake there with a mini-marina though.
again, me want phillip island in gt 4

Daft question alert. I did quickly scna through this thread, but couldn't see the answer.

I've noticed that in quite a few of the Photo Mode pictures the car is stationary. Would I be right in thinking that you can place your car in the location in any position you like, and then take a piccie?

Cheers

Jamie

Photo Mode only locations provide you with the ability to place a vehicle in a number of areas within the location, then place the camera in an area, around that location.
You will not be able to have completely free camera and car position.

This picture shows the principle in action.
The red line shows possible car location, and the blue area shows possible camera position.

This picture of st Marks sq shows the several options reguarding car position better.

It idd looks like it. But, this footage is from the e3 version and I wonder how much PD will change things. Maybe it is possible to freely move the camere in these locations in the final version. Just as in the replay photomode.

When you look at the control buttons, you can see a tilt button, but also a move button. I think that it will be possible to at least move the possition of the camera a bit.

I forgot about that movie. Well its obvious you can position the camera :dopey:

KY doesnt say weather it is possible to have a moving car in the specialised locations. Off course this is possible on the tracks.

The camera is not free roaming in replay photo mode, it is my understanding that you will use one of the preselected camera locations from the replay mode, but you will be able to pan and zoom and filter these cameras.

Thank for taking the time to answer my question GTXLR.

This is the only other question I have about the photo mode, when taking a picture in a photo location. Let's hope they allow you to set some kind of route up for your car to take or allow you to drive it and then view a reply so you can take a "in motion shoot". However, I feel this might be asking a bit much of PD.

Cheers

I think you will be able to make the car look like it's in motion, but it won't be actually moving on screen.

j8mie, i'm fairly certain you can do this... there were some printed pics from the E3 demo that looked like cars in motion at photo locations... there was one using the downtown tokyo locale that had the background and other cars with the motion blur technique... i would guess would be 1 of the available 'filters' KY mentions.

I know it may sound a little odd, but the downtown Tokyo (shibuya) photos you refer to that shows light trails for the other cars in the scene to give the impression of movement, are not quite what they seem.

They are in fact Pre rendered light trails which are permanently imbedded into the scene, and you will notice from all the pictures of this locale that the main Photo car does not have these light trails and appears static in amongst all the light trails.

However i do beleive that the Motion blur effect as seen with the Bimmer M5 Concept at Capri, which give a completely different effect will probably be possible in all photo locales, so you should be able to give some impression of movement.

Edit:
I think the purpose of the Photo locations is just to get Great pics of your cars in great locations.
Where as Photo mode of the tracks is where youll go to get quality pics of your car in action.

I don't think thes light trails are permenant I just thik KY has used that scene to show them off.

I personally think it will be possible to move the camera in during photomode in the replay stages. In the press movie you can see a bunch of cars(ford gt and others) from behind, and it seems to me that that picture did not come from a camera positioned on a standard place.

But if you have read somewehere that is is not possible GTXLR i'd like to know where. It just seems to me that photographing you care in action from every possible angle is going to be awesome. Angles prohibited by the blue areas of course.

Maybe you can pause a replay and one of the options will be photomode and then it allows you to move the camera and manipulate the scene wit the filters. And once your done and happy with the photo the replay will continue as it would if you had just paused and unpaused.

In an interview at the time of the E3 demo of photo mode, one of the reviewers stated that the light trails in the scene were permanent, and he thought that they were way over done, although i cant quote which site that was on, it is that and the fact that only shibuya shots show this feature and the fact that they are in every shibuya shot that I conclude they are embedded in the scene.

I could be wrong, I just dont belive your going to get the same freedom on the courses as the photo locations, we will just have to hope.

I don't know if anyone's thought about this. But there are some special photo locations, but will there be a set of special photo cars as well? Basically ones with much better detail and higher res.

I say that because it looks like some of the cars we have seen in photo mode look so much better than other pictures I have seen of them in action. Or maybe this is just a sign of photo mode vastly improving the cars look.

Cheers

i posted this over at the Photo Mode New Pics thread for you.

But Ill post it here too.

The difference is in the locales.
All those shots taken from the in race replay Photo mode feature driver silhouttes, some left hand drive some right hand drive and you can even see passenger seats where applicable even possibly although not so clear is that a roll cage in the 205.

Yet in the Photo mode only locations, you are effectivly taking a picture of parked cars in glorious locations and are therefore driver-less (i know the idea of parking in the middle of a traffic flow in shibuya is the exception and possibly a little crazy).
Also im not sure but i belive the Photo mode only locations are going to be using the car models direct from the car selection screen, featuring high detailed, rims and brakes e.t.c where as the replay shots may not hence the naff wheels on the Falken, (this is something I heard a while ago and havent really heard much about since)

Live4speed.
the review was on a game review website at the Time of E3, but I was taking in so much info at that time i cant remember which one, If i manage to dig it up ill post it.
