gt4 walkthroughs

hello gt planet!!

I was contemplating starting my gt4 game over for the third time!!

I have read many threads on methods and ideas about completing the game, from only using stock cars to digital-nitrates career mode style challenge.

However i am looking for a more specific guide that sets out an efficient challenging and fun way to progress through gt4!!!

Has anyone out there made, or found such a walkthrough???

As always any help or direction will be greatly appreciated!!

Cheers planeteers 👍

yeah i have seen this site and i have already followed one of these untill 70% (the one by eolsunder!!!!) it was really great but i want something new!!!

Any others like this one that you know of???

Too many are simply lists of tracks, races, licence tests etc... not many are a race by race strategy with car suggestions etc... that is what i am after!

Unfortunately, given how stupidly the event prizes and used car inventories are coordinated, there's no real 'efficient' way to get through GT4. You need to buy a lot of cars, or else use complete overkill cars just because they happen to qualify.

Beside, GT4 isn't about getting through, it's about wandering and experimenting.

Well you can try my racing guide. Um it involves some math and patience and I basically am attempting to find "close-races" in which I am paced against the Ai with neither too much or too little advantage. It's a quest I've been pursuing for about 3 years now in GT2 and GT3 as well. Unfortunately I'm not very far into GT4 yet because i tend to race the same events over and over and I only recently started exploring GT4 in February.

I doubt you'll find it enjoyable...so far only one or 2 other folks at GT planet have ever commented or attempted to try using my system; for some reason I get satisfaction from using math to attempt calculating how to power my car before-hand. Even tho I hated math in school! :) Once Iget the math and system all set-up, I find it works reliably 70% of the time...in GT3 it almost always works because in that game you are qualifying all the time and face the same opponent(s) over and over which makes GT3 a lot more predictable than GT4.

well well parnelli bone very impressive!! i like your thinking using p/w ratios!

This has definatley taken some guess work out of getting my teeth around some close racing in gt4!

However... I'm still on my quest for a proper walkthrough to follow.

By the way i am in no way looking for THE most efficient or a super hard challenge ... just a walkthrough someone has made so i can experience new cars i wouldn't normally think of and get a new perspective on the game etc. I guess i just crave structure and a plan for once.

Surely someone on this awesome site has documented their progress through the game and made a walkthrough full of more than just common FAQ's

If it's efficiency you want, try this. Minimum cars bought, minimum days completed.

And good luck! Club has existed for a year and a half and has 2 members! Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!

I find it hard to take a walkthrough seriously that recommends using a Cadillac Cien for the Sunday Cup.

Parnelli Bone
:lol:yeah i know!:cheers:that's certainly putting the "kill" in overkill!

Well hay, its just what i found, i didn't write it, i just found it, don't pick on me.:(

I was just trying to help *sniffle

HOLLY crap that 1st of july club is CRAZY! props to Famine!!!

And Mr Slow A.K.A scrooge has also given us a very thorough little article indeed! Much more useful than that stuff on game FAQ's.

Keep them coming!

I too am still searching... i have a broken thumb at the moment and am searching for a really good walkthrough to try when i make my much anticipated return to racing!!!!

Nobody's pickin on anybody! :) I just personally find the author's approach amusing.

Yeah any input is appreciated! but i did say challenging...

the only thing challenging about racing a cien in the sunday cup is not falling asleep or getting bored... you may as well send bob out there for all the skill it takes to get the win

Honestly, i didn't look at the beginning:ill: . I didnt care about the start, so I look at it later in the thing. After you said that, i went back and it was preety funny how he used a cien in the sunday cup.

Wow, I am still at about 48% of my first run through, but I have worn a few cars out to the point of rebuying. I think I may wander and experiment a bit too much.

Do you have a DFP? It seems you could still use a wheel (on automatic) with a broken thumb.

Yeah I agree totally. GT2 was like that for me too...a lot of wandering, a lot of experimenting...whereas GT3 was like "well I want to wander but ...well I already drove that car, I already drove this one...guess I'll roll some dice and choose between these 2 cars I've already driven 100x!

There's a lot of these "overkill websites" out there. It's almost like as soon as a game comes out (any good game), the mad rush is on to find out who can get thru it the fastest and ignore as much of the best as possible, then put up a site about how it's done. 💡

Yeah, I know. I'd rather not overkill it, but still not make it hard enough were it cant be done. All i want is to have fun, whats wrong with that? I dont get the people that try to breeze through the game.:dunce:

Enjoying the journey is more important than being first to finish the game.

(Says the guy looking to reach 100,000 A-spec & 10,000 B-spec by the end of this month whilst retaining a 100% win ratio)

</irony>

Me too. I like a challenge, but not to the point that I'm not having a good time. :) I like exploring different autos, too; they all have vast differences and personalities. Over in the GT2 forum, Sucahyo managed to do all sorts of studies on how PD programs the cars to have different values even when stock. I like trying as many cars as possible (even the ones lots of people say suck) just to see what can be done.

Man I played GT2 for about 2 years and I probly only drove half the cars...I've been exploring GT4 for what? 4 or 5 months. So far I've only bought/won/driven perhaps 40 or 50? That means I still have several hundred to go! :D I might just ignore GT5 when that comes out.

Man, you and me keep getting into side conversations wherever we go!

Anyway, back to the original topic!

Well we're having a "conversation" you and I, are we not? I mean in real-life if you're sitting there and your friend starts eating a pear and discussing the health benefits of fruit, that doesn't mean you have to sit there all day and stick to that one subject? 💡

...sorry. anyways, I got a good walkthrough website I forgot about...it's a good one in my opinion cuz the guy seems to be giving advice to an advanced newb who has maybe tried the game for awhile and needs assistance. Notice he doesn't go GET ALL GOLDS IN 10 DAYS...instead he shows us that bronzes are fine and can get you rolling with the cars you win from these. He also has some more advanced advice as well. On the other hand, he occasionally makes some odd suggestions (buying a wing for the Beginners FF Cup? Adjusting ASM and TCS to all 5??? :ill:

I mean, I'm into an even slower pace than this guy suggests (I didn't mind the Sunday Cup over and over {not to mention the Family Cups and Practice laps} cuz it got me used to the physics), but I like his approach. blablabla what do you think of this, mattman?

Hey!!

This is a great link that gives some sensible options for getting the ball rolling in my new gt career!!

I'm actually in the process now of compilling a pre career plan. I have printed out a race checklist and a prize car list and am now picking cars for each race and establishing a race order! and i am focusing on using cars that i have not used too much, or at all, in my time in gt.

I'm also searching around the 200 a-spec point threads and the race stories threads to get some close racing for extra fun!!

I think the biggest challenge however is going to be sticking to the plan and not blowing all my money on dozen of cars and upgrades only to aimlessy do drift runs on all the courses i can.

I guess i have alot of time right now with no uni and a busted thumb...

P.S. i do have a wheel but i REALLY suck as it is my right thumb and i am right handed too :grumpy:

Great Link man!👍

+rep for that one.:sly:

Yeah I like it. It's not what I would do at all, but at least the guy gives some good suggestions and goes thru each step & every part he buys and explains patiently how it all works.

Hey maybe you should write your own GT walkthru!

Yep i think that is what i am going to do but i'm writing it before i race it!! Then i'll keep track of how i go and what i actually do.

See what happens but i usually restart when i get over 50% as i struggle to find time to a-spec the enduro's and find some one-makes tedious when i don't like the car.. yet i have to buy it and upgrade it only to win another car i don't like etc... but i'll see how it goes!!

Thanks again for you input and attention.👍 :)
