This whole place will improve any one at driving in this game. When I first came here long long ago (relatively speaking... well, 2.5 years ago) I was bottom of Div 2. I was only good at driving a few cars, and struggled alot with Race cars...

With the limited time I have recently, its been hard for me to submit much these days, but I typically run a few laps anyhow. Last week I would have one div 2 if I hadn't forgot to save my replay >.>; (And had been home to submit). This one I am doing okay on, but I am hardly a fan of these sorts of cars or Super Softs (which I feel we use more often since Sphinx came in), too much grip.

One thing I can say do is fiddle with everything in the game gtbadboy, and th other Div3 members. Go slide cars around, drive on sim tires and sports alot, and so on. I started GT3 wanting to drift, and it still influences how I drive with late, late, late breaking and generally letting the car's back end come out a bit. And read some stuff about racing lines - I've found going deeper into a hairpin and taking a late apex is much better than the typical "middle of the corner" apex. And drive without your ghost on a few times. I rarely have mine on, as it allows me to focus more on the driving and less on sticking to the ghost, which lets me try new braking points and such.

The other big thing is watch other people's replays... you'll see what you do different and such.

But yup, keep at it and you improve. And the WRS has introduced me to some of my favorite cars, like the Opel Speedster, and lets you get better at driving everything in general.

Now on the course this week... whats the trick to the two turns after the last big tunnel (the massive sweeper turner)? I have trouble being at all consistent through there.

I got the time I was hoping for. Bout time I think. :indiff:
I'll have splits up soon. I felt like crap so I just did my driving and saved it and shut it off.

Laters,
Samantha

First good clean run. Div3 DFP

T1 34.143
T2 1:06.958

I have about .5 seconds in the before the first tunnel. Maybe a couple of tenths over the rest of the of the lap. It gets frustrating when you see a really good split time and then the pressure gets to you and you screw up.

My second go at this one, another good wrs combo Jerry 👍

33.310
1.04.343

I've had some better t2's but this one I finally managed a decent last sector :dopey:

Splits update for me and still only two wheels off at any concrete area :)

T1: 33.366
T2: 1'04.008

Ron your T1 is stunning 33.110, if i could get a t1 like that i would be right up close to you :). Well to t2 two anyway lol, how you doing it.

anyway went back to the BMW and my new best lap has ... 33.077 / 1'03.483

My update from the other day not updated  :dopey: ye just cant get the staff these days :sly: .. only messin 👍

@ Mike .... Flat out easy lines al the way to T1 then it starts to make you work I can see much more with some precision and a lot of luck also but alas I have neither

The TT's have been keeping me busy but will defo get another shot at this one 👍
Laters
Ron.

It's no big deal, but my time is not copied correctly on the leaderboard.....it should be:

33.217
1:03.939

Hopefully that will not matter since I've got to move on to better times....hopefully.👍

I can't believe that with an 18 hp advantage, we're still a half second off 'Master' P at T2.....Good runnings there Mate!:)

Great comments by all concerning handicap and driving in general! 👍

Headed back home tomorrow and will be glad to get back on my DFP. My thumbs are sore. :ouch: Be sorry to leave grand daughter but as mentioned before "Barbie" is not condusive to good T's!

Having a heck of a time finding son-in-law a maxdrive here in Ohio. Best Buy no longer carries them here!!:banghead:

I think I've got him ready to join us. He's now running a manual tranny and has already attempted the Qual Run. If we can get him hooked up tonight he's ready to come out and play. :sly:

update will be forth coming.

Edit: Can't seem to improve on yesterdays splits. Last sector is getting better but T2 is just awful!:grumpy:

Another minor improvement:

33.101
1'03.773

Looks OK, but I lose a lot in the last sector compared to Sjaak. :ouch:

Update:

33.791

1'05.845

T2 still being contrary. :banghead:

Third sector is the only thing saving this week for me at least. 👍

update:
33.400
105.711

Sectors I & III are fine. Sector II just continues to eat my lunch:grumpy:

It's like looking in the mirror and wondering whose ugly face is that staring back at you....I've come face to face with my own human limitations and it's not pretty.

I know what I need to do, but I just can't do it. So, back to my little box of mediocrity.....maybe I'll make my escape in some race out there in future world.:indiff:

It looks like at least 4 Division 2 drivers will be battling neck and neck to the finish line through the last sector.....the plot thickens.

Ran another session tonight and only a tiny improvement with .1 on the overall laptime! .. but with splits .1 slower at each sector :(
my final splits are 33.161 / 1'03.520 so time submitted 👍
Here's a pic of the bit I cut across after T1 which will be the part of the track most scrutinized this week ;)

Cya's next round
Ron.

Ran another session tonight and only a tiny improvement with .1 on the overall laptime! .. but with splits .1 slower at each sector :(
my final splits are 31.161 / 1'03.520 so time submitted 👍

Holy crap! A 31.161 T1 ? that's a typo, right?

Managed a .6 improvement in this my last session for this week :D

sectors - 33.303 / 1'04.089

time submitted 👍

Well, here's another attempt, they all seem to end up slower than my goal:

33.031
1:03.877

Maybe, I'll hit all three sectors right one of these days.:ouch: :)

T1 34.234
T2 1:05.906

I just can't seem to get into the 33.xxx on T1. I think it is in the right-left combo before the hairpin. I just can't seem to get through those without tapping the brakes, but it seems like there is enough track to do it. I might not have any more track time by the deadline, but I know I get a couple more tenths off.

LeaderBoard Updated and looking at the current division distribution i'd say that an introduction of tyre compound advantage for div3 would complete the fun for the handicap race.
