wrs121copy3copy.jpg

You have two cars, two tracks (forward and reverse) and each of you will have to choose which car will be used on which track. You can practice all four combinations, but you will have to make a choice before submitting : please submit two laptimes only,so you will have to submit RX-8 LM racecar/forward + RX-8 Type S (J)/reverse or Rx-8 Type S (J)/ forward + RX-8 LM Racecar/reverse.
I will ad up the two laptimes in the results thread.

Very interesting concept.
I'm glad to see you are keeping things fun by adding in a few tricks that haven't been done before... Even though we've seen the forward and reverse combo, I don't recall seeing a choice about which way to go with either car.

Looks like it will be a very fun week with lots of room for creativity. 👍

There was, Week 69 - Buick GNX and Mercedes E190 AMG 2.3l Evo II (Long name continutes here) around Apricot Hill.

correct,
and of course week 48 with the Elise and Silvia on Autumn Ring Mini in Gt mode.

But those races had used cars which were rather equaly matched.
This week is we will use a production car on road tires and a race car on racing tires.

So the basic concept is not new but still this week is different.

So like Week 72's NSX Adventure, but without teams and with the same track.

Boy, I wish I could leave the racecar to someone else and just enjoy the Roadcar, if I have the time this week. Sounds like an excellent combo.

True,
But after 120 weeks you can't blame me that races have similarity.:dopey:

Indeed. I wonder if the RX-8LM suits the track as much as it did at Ron's Midfield.

And after all - it'll take ages to truly use up every available combo, even if we count the Skylines as one ;)

I've never used Road tyres before, these things are hilarious... Sliding round corners at stupidly low speeds is really very entertaining :D

What's the deal? Finally there's some WRS rounds that I think I'd enjoy and have a fair shot at being up there in the positions, but I happen to be injured, bah!

EDIT: Eek, I accadently posted in my mums account!

What times should we submit for the leaderboard this week?

Ohh Man! :scared:

Great combo Sjaak, this is gonna be great. 👍

but you're not making it easy for the leaderboard guys.
Its gonna be a challenge on that alone. :P

Oh well, better get started. :D

EDIT: Any advice on Leaderboard setup would be gratefully appreciated!

Check week 48 on Luxy's leaderboard 👍

And talking about the combo's is fair game.👍

I'd do it as if it were two laps, much like you did Week 118, which you did very well.

That way, we get to see the fastest (Racecar) splits in red, plus the total time...

Sorry again:ouch: :banghead:
i know i just have to check the forum to find out. So i did and now have the car won in one of the mazda races.
Now it's time to play and make fun.
Good luck to all of us because road tires is something special.

I sureguess for people to post just there total time this week for the leaderboard if that is any help and i will start it off.

Total time:x'xx.xxx (leaderboard info xxx.xxx) 👍

Great idea. It's true that the forward+reverse combo has already been used (can't think of any other week that the ones already mentioned though : 48, 69 and 72), but Seoul definitely needs special races. A normal hotlap race on that track is boring like hell and has no chance to keep people interested for whole week.

PS : don't get too excited, I keep reading the WRS several times a week, but I have no PS2 anymore (a friend borrowed it to play Guitar Hero 2) and there's no chance I quit Forza2 to play GT4 again.
Next time you'll see me racing will be on GT5 👍

...and yes, I'm trying to have the most annoying avatar possible. Gotta start a thread about it 💡

Sorry guys,

Please post NO total times.

Only split times.

Ok can you post your splits for both cars plz and here here is mine

Rx-8 Type S:
21.713
40.091

Rx-8 LM Race Car:
19.802
33.885

The wheels just fell off my wagon. I finally put together a decent lap after spending the first half of the session looking for the soft spots in the walls, but damn that's fast.

RX-8 Type S - Forward

T1 25.303
T2 44.016

That blur you see once a lap is me as you pass. No need to wave.

RX-8 LM Race Car - Forward
T1:19.976
T2: 34.367

RX-8 Type S - Reverse
T1: 22.701
T2: 42.436

So far I'm not seeing much of a difference in total lap times between each combo... But there probably is :)

By the way, I hate to ask what may well be a stupid question, but which road tyres do we use? It's just that if you choose "Road" when choosing the car, it gives you RD tyres, but if you then go to quick tune and select Road, it'll give you N2 tyres, which are significantly worse. The split time above is done with N2 tyres, and I can't get near it again, so I'm clutching at straws to find out how Ren-Tec is so much faster :)

N3s are classed as 'Standard Road' tyres.
So go for a quick pit-stop, and you're ready. 👍

I'm confused about the tires too.

I'm also on the N2. ( They show up as COM on the replay?? )

 Do you mean that we should be on the N3?

Anyway first time on N2's and R4's

RX-8 LM Seoul forward:

20.133 / 34.926

RX-8 Type S Seoul reverse:

22.447/ 41.961

Yes you should be using N3s.
When starting in arcade mode the default setting is N2s,
just as the default for racing cars is R2s (racing-hards)

So N3s it is! 👍

Thanks, JJ. That sure is good news. 👍

( Even though I still fail to see any logic in it? :dopey: )

For the type S,the replay should show RD.

So when you select Road tires ,the menu shows sports (N3), meaning RD.

The red toolbox shows: Tyre type - normal , Tyres - Sports =RD=N3

in short:
N1=economy
N2=road
N3=sports

I will edit the first post and hope understandable for all 👍

Also,I hope in NTSC it is the same.

Righto 👍

In that case, new splits for me with the RX-8 Type S (reverse):

T1: 21.947 (pants, seen quite a few 21.7's, but can't quite hold it together after that )
T2: 40.742 (much better!)
