GREAT COMBO!!!

both tvr 6's are amongst my gt4 favvies, and the valley is great both forward and reverse :) :) :)

i'll leave the luxy init to our great newbie jake 👍

Luxy Begins 👍

Quite a departure from all the race cars we've driven. Lot's of power in a street car with sport tires creates some hair raising moments... Great combo.

Oh yeah, a nice long track with a powerful street car and a need for precision driving. I think I see a D1 week of revenge for the week 124 handicaps. I guess it's back to chasing my division leaders, though it was neat to be chasing Mr. P's lap times. All that said, it looks like a great race. Good luck to all.
👍

Ran a few quick laps to get the feel of this baby .. and its not bad at all 👍
best save so far has 39.012 / 1'15.161 .. Loads to chop off yet! .. but I have a clean banker nice and early to work with :)

I'm gonna put as many laps into this as I possibbly can this week because its just one of those cars thats really addictive

edit: 38.871 / 1'14.919 :)

Dam you McRon haha, this is gonna be a hard one for me to stay close me thinks ;)

39.266/ 1'15.698

Dangit... LOL!

You guys will be seeing me at the finish line for this one, with a decent result I hope! One of my favorite tracks, even if it's in the reverse direction(I may not be as good this way, we'll see), in a car that's sweet and I've actually been thinking of taking out for a fun spin recently.

Splits tomorrow, I hope!

dont laugh ... :ouch: ... 40.939 - 1.20.062

hopefully less crawly t's from me to come after more than 5 laps only :)

Boy, you sure need some patience with this one, I like the car once I got somewhat used to the brake distance...... The throttle response is sweet, at first I thought I was plowing snow but now I see different.

Another nice combo Sjaak 👍

p.s. I like the purple v8 :dopey:

I'm not laughing. :indiff:

First few laps...

T1 - 40.442
T2 - 1'18.803
:guilty:

Time for some go-go juice!

T1: 39.932
T2: 1'17.003

Liking this car and tyre combo much more than last week already :)

Drifting around the last corner can save you as much as 3 tenths, I have found.. Unfortunately on this lap, I wasn't lucky enough to do it

Also, it's much faster to hug the inside of the long corners than go as fast as you can around the outside ;)

I just found out I have to work all the way through Sunday, so my current splits will be crushed as the week progresses. I had a great time running it though, such a sweet car once I realized I needed to brake super early. R5's from 124 to SS is quite a difference. I think I will have a few hours mid-week to run some more but work has gotten in the way once again. :grumpy:

I feel like my head is in a vice. Major sinus pressure is killing me today :ill:

I'll be lurking around the board though and I will update luxy and the 8 week colby board as needed. 👍

Just had another good hour or so on this and I dont really think I have much left within my ability .. Its a wicked combo! but it's also pretty tough to get as perfect as you would like it to be! anyway my best save now has ..

38.865 / 1'14.825

I can see roughly another .3 tops to gain at the line for myself, so I will probably submit this one as I will just be chasing it for days getting nowhere :dopey: ... then again! .. I probably have hit as good as I'm gonna get clean early .. but there's no harm in trying eh ;)

Good luck guys
Great combo Sjaakie

edit: a few laps in the green one and I now have .. 38.869 / 1'14.776 ... took another .2 at the line 👍

looks like unmuch but it gave me 1.5 secs at the s/f

41.271 - 1.19.829

starting to get the feel for braking and throttling ... tvr's are great!
still hoping one day we'll be driving the speed 12 in gt mode ...

will be giving this a shot soon, the video of tuskuba is still coming, friday.

So far Ive gotten
39.81
1:16.902

Trying to build up speed slowly as my tendency is to overdrive something like this and end up in the dirt too often which does nothing in the way of improving lap times.

I gave this a quick try ... I'm hoping that by 'concrete is part of the track' that you're going to include the concrete walls and barriers because I'm spending more time in contact with those than any part of the track.

I've changed the background music to 'Theme from Love Boat' :)

Doubt that my DFP problems would come into play on this one ... I basically put a brick on the brake pedal then go for a cup of coffee while it brakes for the next corner. My G25 though is apparently out for delivery today which considering I ordered yesterday at 11AM from New York (I'm in California) and only paid ground shipping is super-impressive.

I'll post some splits when I finish a clean lap ... don't be holding your breath ....

First splits:
0'39.155 (39.0)
1'15.227 (15.1)

Still some time to get at most corners.

Good race, nice choice on less grip compared to the previous week. Imagine what would this be on N1 tyres :scared:

Definitely don't want to use the TCS for this one. It helps to be loose to pull around some of the tight corners. So far my splits are:

39.068
1:15.755

This one is good practice for throttle control.

Just had a quick go. I'll need to submit before by Saturday because after that I'll be moving back to school and still haven't bought myself a PS2 yet....

Anyway:

39.325
1'16.568

Definitely can see where I should smooth things out a bit in the 2nd sector. I can imagine maybe a 1'15.6 or .7, but even at my best that will be QUITE the stretch getting there.

well...here i am in Div 1 now:scared:...time to make the first post

39.225
1'15.404

not to bad really...i can see taking .2 off at the line.

great times so far. good luck everybody!! 👍

Wow, you guys are amazing. 👍
I've been retired from GT4 for a while now and my skills are so far off it isn't funny (to me). :ouch: :sly:

Also, credit and rep (if possible) to Sjaak68 for posting up such a great combo (with a perfect title).
I saw this week's race and knew exactly what it was and instantly considered coming out of retirement. Ran a few laps for that matter and hence I am here saying everyone racing is amazing. :D

I'll be back if I manage something worth posting (which will probably mean just letting you guys know if I go under 1'20 at T2). :D

Later.

Haven't had much time to work on this one but after a couple of hours I'm still having trouble getting much under 1:19. The problem is that the tires fall off just before the start and I'm all over the road after that :) How the hell you guys are going under 40 T1 and 1:16 T2 is a mystery to me.

Have been using the G25 for a few days and I really like it but it's taking some getting used to. The pedal platform is much longer than the DFP so doesn't fit nicely in the Sparco cockpit, and I end up with the pedals closer to me than I'd really like. The shifter just fits to the side of the wheel if I put it a bit off center and don't clamp the right side of the shifter.

The wheel feels really good, orders of magnitude smoother and quieter than the DFP. The brake pedal is much firmer and is taking some getting used to, might even have to start wearing shoes while driving. Spacing is okay for my size 9 feet but I'll probably end up removing the individual blocks anyway and bolting to the Sparco frame so I can push them further back. I'm not particularly interested in the clutch so I could see removing that and pushing the brake pedal further left.

So if you don't see me post a time this week I haven't given up, I'm just too embarassed to post what I've been able to do so far.

Strop, brake sooner, easier, and try to avoid clamping the throttle all the way open before the wheel is straight on corner exits. Use wheelspin in a limited fashion to get the nose to come around on the tighter bends. I'm not blazing around here by any means but doing those things has improved my splits.

Also, if you have not thrown out your DFP let me know via PM, I might be interested.

Anyway, some splits:

39.132
1:15.675

I'm getting slower and slower at T1, I've run a sub 39 but can't figure out how to do it anymore. This week requres some skill, no doubt.

I dont think I can get much more ahead of my saved lap ... hence the reason for no update on my splits! I haven't been back on it since my last outing ... I'm pretty much waiting to see how badly Dan crushes my splits before I take it back on again :)

Keep at it guys and best of luck 👍
Cheers
Ron.

hey Strop...was about to suggest pretty much the same thing that superwally posted. but also...this car wants to slide...why not let her slide and use it to your advantage?? i mean dont let it slide too much...just enough to get you set up for a faster exit speed. feathering both the brake and throttle are the only way you're gonna get anything accomplished with this combo for sure!!! just keep after it and it does become easier to do the more laps you run. if you overshoot a corner...try something a little earlier than you did before. keep trying different lines too...you dont want to stagnate at just running one constant line around the track...experiment!! try different apexes than you're used to. you can keep the sliding to a minumum but i say use it to your advantage. hope this helps buddy. 👍

and Mr. P's time is once again off the charts!!! think i could get down to a 1'14.776??!!?? aint no way brother!!! an amazing time that is!!! :D
