Couldn't sleep :P ... 18.951 / 41.530 / 1'12.034 👍

BTW: Where can I show that I use a wheel instead of the Playstation controller?

Just click My GTplanet at the top of your page and put it in your signature and it will be common knowledge before too long ;)

My fastest splits are
18.796
41.345
1.11.991

but i had a slightly better finnish with these
18.875
41.453
1.12.070

Im hoping to make the podium again:drool:

Anyone else finding it hard work to keep the perfect line onto the first right hander?:scared:
Im guessing that even though the car is airborne and therefor no wheels "on" the grass the wheels still have to me over the track at all times.

Oi sjaak, sorry 'bout earlier. i'm here to enjoy the racing peroid:tup:

hey cyril,
nice to see you're still alive and around.
why don't you ever wave back whenever we're in france i wonder tho?
anyways, enjoy your retired life and i hope to see more of you in the gt5 era.
kisses,
steven
:D:D:D
I'm still alive but I haven't played GT4 for the past 5 ou 6 months. I moved to Forza2 and will come back when GT5 is released.
Probably in the beginning of 2009 :(
About waving back, I don't recall having had a mail from you recently. But I have dozens of email addresses, most of which I don't check very often :scared:

Consistency seems to be difficult to come by so far - tail out is quick but a little too much sideways and I come to a complete stop. Oh well, it's only the first day

:embarrassed::embarrassed::embarrassed: it was a hypothetical wave i sent you when thinking of you while we were in france :lol::lol::lol:
anyways, nice to see you're still around. you are making me more and more curious about forza ... but since i dont have the platform to play it there wont be any frustrations.
catch you later mate.
to the mods - sorry for being so off topic. i'll end it now [/blush]

after some calm ghost chasing I finally came out ahead... tricky little drifter. 👍

19.029 / 41.606 / 1'12.195

so far i can only manage to wander around the mountain with all assists on which lead to comfortable but rather slow corner passes.

20.860 - 44.954 - 1.16.902

board EDIT updated up to post 42

After an hour (an hour!) of racing, I finally got some (kind of) semi-decent splits..

T1: 19.170
T2: 42.540
T3: 1'13.888

T1 is pretty good :D but T2 and especially T3 are a bit pants... Maybe I should try some sort of assist... Or maybe not ;)

@ bigracer: I'll have to let georgetheracer try and chase you down! :) He's is very steadily beginning to get fast, and it pleases to me to no end. Hopefully he'll be by to run some more laps tomorrow.👍

@ Clemi: I'm glad you're D1 now, because you deserve it. :cheers: Therefore, in the spirit of those of us left behind you aliens,:dunce:, I'm so sorry that you have a sub-19.xxx T1 and find it hard to take the "perfect" line!!!:drool:
To be truthful, though, I think the key to a good T1 is "steering down" to that right hand side. After crossing the start/finish line, both the brake and the wheel need to be tagged just right to set the nose for the rumble-to-rumble action necessary for the left-hander into a brake zone that just misses the bridge and gives both momentum and line for the tight right just after T1. I have done a couple of sub-19's, I just keep losing it in the hairpin after T2.:banghead: :irked:

@ Mr. P.: Insomnia does have its' good points! :D

@Cmir: For some reason, I keep targeting your times as my personal ones to beat. If I do that, I'm confident I'll be on the podium for D2! I don't know if that is good or bad, but that's what I'm doing.:P

@ gtbadboy: I checked for Basil, but found some "Eagle Rare".:sly: I've known of it, but never tried it. You should. 👍👍👍 Ten years old and a mighty fine single-barrel straight bourbon. 👍 This may take the title as Kentucky's Best!! 👍👍👍:cheers::cheers:

Umm, probably no better times tonight!!! :sly:

Race On!!! :cheers:

As if last week wasn't bad enough with having to work both days on the weekend now my G25 has been attacked by trolls (read: five year olds) and all of the pedal wiring ripped out. On an unrelated note there are two adorable five year olds up for adoption if anyone was looking for a quick family?

I called Logitech and explained the situation and tried to get them to send me a new wiring harness. Apparently they don't stock spare parts for the G25, all they could do was replace the entire unit. I reminded them that seeing as how my kids had destroyed it I was hardly in any position to request warranty replacement. The support rep reiterated that this was the best they could do, they didn't send out spare parts. So they're sending me a new G25 ... go figure. In return I had to send them back the shifter (as a token that I'm giving up the old one presumably).

Should be back racing next week but not holding out much hope for this week.

That's pretty sweet that they'd do that. A lot of bicycle manufacturers do a similar thing with bike frames. Cut out part of the frame and send it back as a token that it's actually not of use to you. Only they charge you a "crash replacement" cost usually well under retail for the replacement frame. Good to hear another company out there that stands behind their product. Especially when it relates to bikes or GT4!

FYI for Steven: I found my DFP so I'm back on the wheel as of my next post.:) I've been searching for the darn thing since we moved in. It was in a closet about 6' from where I'm set up, buried at the bottom. I suspect it'll take me a little bit of time to get used to it but, I'm glad to have it back in any event.

t1="20.239"
t2="43.850"
t3="75.560"

This beast has a mind of its own eh? :nervous:

Well I am moving, but I had about 45min to play last night before boxing it up...judging by the splits of everyone else I am way behind! But at least I plugged in a number for this week!

Sjaak- love the S1's on the back, I may not be fast but my replay is sweet! Time submitted.

19.612

A reasonable improvement over yesterday

t1="19389" t2="42095" t3="72791"

And its still tough to get a full lap together - when you hit the marks its a lot of fun, but be just a little abrupt with the steering and its time to push reset.

I think in the last two laps last night I found the line to a sub-19 T1 - now I'll have to see if what's in my imagination I an turn into reality.

The interesting thing I see this week is that; unlike pretty much every other combo; there is not one overall technique that's appropriate, some corners require significant aggression while others require extreme finesse.

Most companies don't stock parts, just whole units. Hopefully you will be back in business soon!

Nice to have my DFP back.:)

Calling for 1"-4" of snow down in town. We've already got that up here on the mountain and it's still coming down. Had to bail out one of the neighbors this afternoon. She ran her car of the road trying to go down the mtn and almost dropped a couple of hundred feet.:nervous: Lucky lady!:scared:

Edit: Hey Kenny, see those headlights in your review mirror...........it's me!:sly: Now you just need to figure out how to keep my arse there! :crazy:

How am I losing so much time at the second sector? I do all the corners in 3rd gear, the first at 85 kmh, the second at 110 and the entrance to the tunnel at 115. Anything wrong with this?

Ron,that will be a white Christmas.

First session tonight and having lots of trouble in the first section and the last chicane to the finish.

Still heaps of fun.:sly:

The first section can be done like this: first corner at 172 kmh in 4th, second flat-out after you shift to 5th and the third at 165 again in 4th. The tunnel is better done with an inside line, at 100 kmh.
I do the last chicane slightly braking before it, then with a quick lift as I enter at 175 and then I go flat-out again, touching the last curb with a 182kmh speed. I cross the S/F line at 203.

I see you there and your getting bigger 👍
This beast has a mind of its own eh?
yes it does
i don't think i've driven a car that i turn the opposite way so much
steer left but turn right
last nites session was good until i realized that just b4 t1 i was on nothing but cement thru the tunnel for all my laps, so i spent the rest of the nite changing my line
it was just a little but it seemed to throw me off quite a bit thru t1, thats ok now that i've passed the old ghost, t times a little quicker but final a lot quicker than original
gonna race some now, if faster i'll edit later
EDIT... 19517 42338 73328

Hey everybody!! Driving at Chuk's and have new splits:
t1= "20195" t2="44333" t3="79504"

let me know if I did that right, bigracer
I love this!!:cheers:

This is coming from d3, but after the 1st right i'm going thru in 4th and only a couple of mph faster taking the rumble on the right and inside on the left after accelerating b4 the yellow paint area

EDIT George that better not be a 99 but a 79

Ron,that will be a white Christmas.

I don't know about a white Christmas but it sure is white out there right now!:scared: and it's still coming down. So much for 1-4" 'cause I'm looking at 6" easy.

Kenny, I see you've recruited another "nutmegger" from North Western Ct.?? Granby maybe?? Yes, this thing is a beast to handle and there's a lot of concrete out there to avoid. I got the t-shirt on that one!:crazy:

Yeah, a White Christmas sounds cute. Trouble is today's already our fourth snowfall this season (and in case no one noticed it's not even winter yet :crazy:).

Sipping a martini on the balcony of a Miami high rise overlooking the water is looking awfully tempting right now.

say bigracer, georgetheracer's t3= 1'16.202. That wrong number is my fault.:guilty: Sorry about that. :dunce:

Hey chuk, I thought that time looked odd... board edited for george. 👍

Hey Kenny, I just got a look at the leader board and the thought crossed my mind that if you keep running with those Div II guys you're going to end up being promoted there! :nervous:

I'm running very consistant times in all of the first three sectors. a tenth here and there but, my final time is coming down rather nicely. I guess I'm getting the last sector down especially that last chicane, what a bear!:scared:
