I have a question for the steward. Does it matter what we do before the startline on the track? My fastest lap sofar is with a cutoff at the chicane before the startline and I don't know if that's ok.
I'm no steward, but the moral standing is this:
The game's in arcade mode, for sure, but your attempting to race a simulation race across the world with all the other WRS'ers as your opponents, also on the track with you.
Due to the flexibility of PS2 racing rules, you can drive your car across chicanes or whatever way you choose, and no-one can say otherwise, as they cant see you, pull up alongside you and flip you the bird for cheating, or make sure the CNN copter catches you doing it and puts your name on the first article for the 6 o'clock news that evening.
This will give you an unfair advantage across the line as you start, as you'll be carrying more speed down the straight.
I say again, this cannot be marshalled, because your racing at home, in front of your tv/monitor.
Were you on a real course, you wouldnt attempt it, consider attempting it, or feel happy if you accidentally did it, and gave yourself an advantage over your opponents.
The question is not one for the steward, as he will not be able to police WRS'ers doing that anyway, but it is more a question for yourself.
Are you happy to start your "fastest" lap, this way?
None of my business, i know, but just where the morals lie i feel.
Good luck keeping up with the inhuman racers who have turned out this week, their T's have already put me off switching the PS2 on.
👍
No offence meant.
