Update on the Mini.

28.033
54.374

I got my .2 seconds off T2.
Did not really improve t times in Alfa only final. Will try again later tonight.

Thanks for updating my alfa time Bigracer :) but you missed my mini update in amongst all the posts ;)
Oops so sorry ... will get to it first thing tomorrow ... firing up the ps2 right now for some improvements on my lousy t's sofar :ouch:

No worries mate, I'll take care of it for ya 👍

Jerome

Righto, half an hour yields these times..

Alfa:
T1: 28.195
T2: 54.458

BINI:
T1: 28.108
T2: 54.577

Looks like there's some work to be done yet...

After third session with this combo:

Mini
T1: 28.031
T2: 54.415

Alfa:
T1: 28.084
T2: 54.045

Crazy times from Div 3 this week. 👍

Lots of laps later... and still left in the dust:

Alfa:
28.306
54.547

Mini:
28.211
54.509

Can't really see much more time. :dopey:

Can't squeeze any more out of the alpha.:ouch: I know it's there just beyond my abilities at the moment.

Slight improvement with the mini:

28.029
54.373

May not get a chance to run again but will make an attempt over the weekend.

Kenny, if this keeps up you and I will have to make and appointment in the body shop for new paint!!

Woo my first splits!

Alfa:

T1 29.558
T2 57.345

Having a hard time getting close to the other times posted here with this car but find it more fun and better looking than the mini.

Mini:

28.311
55.166

Must be doing something terribly wrong between T1 and T2 in the mini. :)

Welcome herk, I don't think I have said that yet. I'm assuming the Alfa is your slower car, and as your t times state you must be some thing different. The cars are different, but I'm basically running the same lines. Look to see if you are driving the lines differently. You can use the Mini ghost with the Alfa and vise-versa. Try that and see where you differ so much, then work on that/those areas. As for me I was to slow between T1 and T2 in the Mini and spent yesterday's session getting quicker in that area. Worked on the Mini as I cut .2 seconds off the T2. The Alfa is a different story though, as I did not shorten my T2 time. I think these times are close to my abilities.

We may need more than paint by the end of this one gtbadboy..! Nice to see you right there with me. Only .009 different at T2. I bet the human eye can't see that difference. :)

A bit of an improvement in the MINI and a pretty significant 0.3 improvement in the Alfa (which, unfortunately, yielded only a 0.1 improvement at the line).

Alfa 28.074 / 54.013
MINI 28.067 / 54.375

I don't know that I can do much better in the Alfa but the MINI should be good for a 54.1 or 54.0 if I can get all the pieces together

You may be right! I think I'm in trouble with available time left to run. Too much to do over the next couple of days. Sure would like to get the alpha to behave a little better, fun to drive but what a pain! IMHO. :nervous:

Kevin, I just saw your post. Sure looks like we're getting there at about the same time. Don't know what your doing to get that alpha to behave but nice driving there that's for sure.

Time to wade in to the pool ...

Alfa: 28.472 54.755
Mini: 28.188 54.496

Hope to have more time to work on it this week, although today being Valentines day spending the evening doing laps could lead the PS2 being moved to the garage (and me along with it) :-)

I'm clearly out of practice ... but what have you Div III guys been taking? It seems like some sort of conspiracy to usurp Div II. Time to pull out the choke guys and give'em some tail to chase (well, not that sort of tail ...).

Finally had the time for an assault at the frontrunners

Alfa: 27.872 // 53.568
Mini: 27.878 // 53.862

Alfa - I drove her quite aggressively - being "on top of her" so to speak
... quite suitable here on Valentines Day :sly:

Mini - this one, on the other hand, is for me quite a handfull... letting the mini do the work is crucial - don´t brake too much and get on the throttle reasonably gently... the long lefthander before T2 I tend letting the car run at under 50% throttle and then at 2/3´rds through the corner flooring it.

Contrary to Ron I love the Alfa but hate the Mini - though the difference at the line is 1/1000´s of a sec. :scared: - yet another testiment to the genious of Jerry :cheers:

Laters, Hekke.

I need to get back at it! Not the number of posts we've seen over the past couple of weeks but that worries me as it usually means a lot of laps. That's me pointing at you D3 guys! Darn Valentines Day!

I've driven here a thousand times, and still the proper way from t1 to t2 eludes me. Still feel like I'm trying something different through there each time.

MINI 27.970 54.180
ALFA 27.863 53.852

So far I'm faster to the line with the MINI, but I can see more time left on the table with the ALFA.

Had the time to run a session this morning so i took the lfa out for a spinn and i have to say that i'm very pleased with the result. My new splits:

T1 28.098
T2 54.420

Hopefully i get the change to run the mini this evening.

Alex has put the info in his signature Steven. I see he's offline so I figured if you see this soon you could update.

Thanks, Ron. And the scary part is, I think I would have an easier time finding more time in the Alfa. I saw T1's of 27.9XX.

The mini has me a bit baffled or frustrated, but I only ran a handful more laps on Wednesday night and none last night, no improvements to report.

I should have lots more time over the weekend, though, including time before the deadline on Monday with the day off for Presidents day. Going to try and chase all of you guys down. :mischievous:

Still have some work to do on my second sector in both cars, I think I am scrubbing too much speed going into the tunnel.

GL to all.

Further proof our Steward boarders on genius. Some prefer the Mini others the Alpha. Interestingly enough while I enjoy the alpha my times are slightly better with the Mini.........go figure. I'm really struggling to tame the alpha and I've not much time this weekend. I'm sure you will all pass me before it's over. Still fun being in the mix..........great week of racing IMHO.:dopey:

Couldn´t agree with you more, gtbadboy... the Alfa is so much fun and the Mini so without character... yet faster
Bit like comparing Aussie V8 Supercars to Historic RaceCar Racing... the V8´s drives like on rails but the Historic Racecars are powersliding all over the place.... slower, indeed.... but so much more exciting to watch
...and not to forget the sweet noice these oldies make..... wow.

Maybe this is what it´s all about.... "It´s not how fast you get from point A to point B but how much you enjoy your journey while getting there"

Anyways, a short sharp stint yielded this:

Mini: 27.822 // 53.788 :)

Couldn't have said it better myself Hekke, you just happen do it faster than most of us and with some class I might add. 👍

:idea:If we were all as fast as the "alien nation" it would get boring quickly I fear.

Thanks, updated luxy for that and for Andy's newest t's 👍 👍 👍
