Man some of you guys are just insanely quick. I've gotten to the point where I KNOW the car can't go any faster with my current line that I'm taking, although I can't seem to come up with a better one, doing countless laps, braking hard, then braking "smoother" then flicking the car around, then taking a late apex, trying different gears, different shift points, rumble strips, no rumble strips, slight drifts. Nothing is helping. Sometimes a get a bit ahead out of a corner but I get passed back by my ghost on the straight.

Frustrating a bit when you see section times that prove you can go faster, yet I can't find where. Or how.

I've seen a few replays where some people make full use of the 2 wheels in the grass rule, but it's not helping me here much, especially with such an underpowered car.

This is the Alfa BTW. I got too bored/frustrated before having another go with the cooper. Although its a lot easier to drive quickly.

Well, I really suck at ff's so I spent a good amount of time with the mini today to see what I could learn and concluded this; brake a little later then with the alfa and coast a bit into turns, minimal stearing input even if your line is off, if your still behind your ghost after the hairpin smash into the wall :P

Had a little better luck with the sprint although I lost about .1 in the last sector compared to my best :ouch:

alfa: 28.033 / 53.871
mini: 28.037 / 54.194

Lap times are .011 apart, I'll most likely sub this mini time and have a few more shots at the sprint before the deadline but I'm happy with both laps 👍

Alfa: 28.821/55.204
Mini: 27.594/53.698

wayn*z

EDIT: Alfa - 28.437/54.315 ...

That's it for me.. Nice combo Jerry 👍

Did you run the Mini at -6% power and -10% weight.

My exact words were: "You have to be ****ing kidding me"..

Thanks 01 for pointing that out before it got more embarassing than it already is.... I didn't change the power on the Mini because I'm bloody tired from ten-pin bowling :ouch:

Mini: 28.146 / 54.431 ...

Sleep first.. then GT..:guilty:

Couldn't have said it better myself Hekke, you just happen do it faster than most of us and with some class I might add.
:embarrassed::embarrassed::embarrassed::cheers:

Update Mini: 27.794 // 53.751 :)

Cheers, Hekke.

I improved my laptime my a bit in both cars, but I still don't see anywhere where I can pull half a second out in the first sector like some of you guys.

My mini laptimes are a good bit faster than the alfa though.

Time submitted. No improvement. Another session only yielded cursing.

01gtp, it's yours for the taking.

I'm going to take a shot at chasing you down as well, esh. :sly:

New splits for the Mini and these might be my last in this car.

28.001
54.328

Man, I am not a real fan of driving that car as compared to the Alfa. Hoping to go out and beat the total lap time I have in the Mini, and I'm thinking that should put me in the running.

I have 2 laps that are quicker in the Alfa than the Mini, but too close to call clean in the last tunnel. I will be working on this combo again over the weekend. Its going to be close.

I'll be in on the chase ... way too many Div2'ers getting our butts kicked here ...

Alfalfa: 28.200 54.145

Think this is as fast as I can push the sprouts round Middie ... so back to the Mini for a second run ... hopefully if I can put in something respectable with that I'll be competitive overall (or at the very least reclaim my rightful place at the middle of Div 2).

And I'll be sure to remember to set the power to -6% :-)

To paraphrase a common idiom, "If it looks too fast to be true, it probably is".

Update:

Mini: 28.180 54.384

Luxy updated but there´s been so many posts and single car time postings that it could well be that I left some t´s upchanged :scared: so please scrutinize and report any flaws if you guys please?

Just a quick tootle round in each car and came up with these. :guilty:

Alfa
T1 28.280
T2 54.596

MINI
T1 28.735
T2 54.047

Guess that sayings true, if you don't use it you do lose it!

Are you sure about T2 there? That looks incredibly fast given T1, 55.047 seems more likely.

My updated Mini time didn't make it to the board (and I worked my bollocks off for that .112 of a second ).

Also Sphinx has a somewhat unlikely T1 on the Mini given his division and his T2. More likely it's 27.963 not 28.963. Don't see snoddy up there either, and I'm sure he chucked out some splits ...

Righto, half an hour yields these times..

Alfa:
T1: 28.195
T2: 54.458

BINI:
T1: 28.108
T2: 54.577

Looks like there's some work to be done yet...
---------------------------------------------------

Submitted my times but they didn't turned out the way i wanted too after my last posted splits with the alfa. Final splits:
Alfa:
T1: 28.474
T2: 54.604

Mini:
T1: 28.397
T2: 54.914

Thanks Craig for the adjustments on your Mini time and Snod's t's. Jerry's t1 I didn't touch 'cos it's only your assumption, he's man enough to edit it himself and anyway it's the t2 that matters for Luxy now init? :)

lu EDIT updated up to post 113

Probably my final update - note; Alfa update only.

Alfa: 27.821 // 53.556 <-new

Mini: 27.794 // 53.751

Btw, DS2-analog steering.

Cheers, Hekke.

I've not been back to this one so I'll sub what I got the other day :) good luck to all still on the track

alfa: 28.033 / 53.871
mini: 28.037 / 54.194

tm here I come 👍

Time submitted.

Though I'm satisfied with my lap times I think this week is still up in the air guys. The Alfa lap is quicker by .016.

Alfa
28.159
54.349
I had some nice 54.1xx's, but couldn't finish the lap :grumpy:

Mini
28.203
54.750 :ouch:
Its hard to believe that a .750 beats a .374 by the start/finish line.

No need to update the luxy, as these t times will only move me down the line and misrepresent the actual lap times that are quicker.

Good Luck to those still driving...!

Well I gave it a final go this morning. I definitely did not progress the way I should have as my earlier splits could have indicated. I was almost hoping to break into the 53.xxx's. That was definitely wishful thinking. Work just got a little crazy and stole any WRS energy I had. Anyways splits from submitted laps.

Alfa
t1-28.174
t2-54.146

Mini
t1-28.139
t2-54.575

Not ground breaking stuff and I guess my mini time is only .024s faster but had a way better third sector. On to week 148.

Times submitted with no improvement to my times as posted on Luxy.

My finish in the Alfa was nothing short of incredible (for me) and I am unable to beat it, even with T2's that are 0.150 faster. So I think it will still be close at the line. :nervous:

Kevin

Oops, apologies folks... First trip out of the WRS retirement home in months and I think I got a little overexcited. :dopey:

You're quite right Strop that's a 55.047 at T2 for the MINI.

*Shuffles back to the corner with the comfy chair... ZZZzzz*

alfa: 27.982 53.907
mini: 27.847 53.981

Time to give up, many bad habits have been developed.

Final splits for the Mini:

27.948
53.977

If only I could reproduce that magic with the Alfa ....
