I will try, HARD, to get some good time into this before I take off for Germany on Friday. Things are way busy for me right now, and I'm trying really hard to figure out how I'm going to manage to get a rental car and take it to the GREEN HELL!!!!!!! Among other things.

Anyway, time is very thin, but I hope to get something worthwhile in here for the WRS' 5th anniversary.

I expect some KLR pics dude! haha. Have fun dude!

Good point, I should bring my camera!!! The batteries in it will probably die though. They don't last very long. You should remind me to recharge them before, I go, HA!

Leaderboard updated {EDIT updated up to post 69 71} and added some coding to the board indicating what car was used to reach posted t-times. Please remark if unneeded or unclear.

I've let Bob race for a while this morning so i was able to buy the au cerumo.

After running about 50 laps or so, 40 crashes, 15 times trowing away the controller, i finally had a clean and fast enough lap to gain some places in the leaderboard.

T1: 15.535
T2: 33.770
T3: 58.262

For a novice like me this is a very difficult combo :)

I'm with you Andy, half pleased just to get a lap without crashing. I'm using a DFP too, can't imagine how you're doing it with a controller. :)

If you're going to the 'Ring, you'd better check the rules ;) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HND1_lov_BI

Rent a nice car and it could even inspire Sphinx to race that combo one of these weeks :sly:

Ran the au Cerumo last night. It does seem to turn it just a bit better than the Woodone.

Managed a best of 14.631 / 32.472 / 56.455 before missing the turn-in for the chicane at the end and crashing into the overpass :ouch:. These are 0.030 / 0.360 / 0.210 better (also managed a 14.493 T1 before throwing that run away also). So at this point I'm not sure how much of this is the car and how much is me. Next session I think I'll go back and forth between the two and make a decision on which one to commit to for the rest of the week.

I'm an admitted Woodone fan but the Cerumo seems a bit better behaved.:)

No new splits here because I've been running around the state but it's snowing today and this ol' man don't go any further than my feet will take me when we have snow on the mountain.:scared: I'll actually get some laps in today.

FYI: going to try and meet EDK for lunch tomorrow.

Looking forward to it if we can make it work 👍

Running around Virginia working today and seeing some flurries. Hopefully that clears up before you need to travel tomorrow.

I'm getting back on a plane Friday morning and hoping to have some new splits on Saturday.

My 5 lap splits are SLOW.

Bought the au Cerumo and tried it tonight. It's very good and it comes pretty close, but I prefer the NA Woodone. So that's what I'll be driving for the rest of this week.

After the Cerumo try-out I got back into the blue monster and gave it another 20 or so laps experimenting with different gearings. At the end I cut off about .4 of my total time, so I can't complain. Although... there's still a mistake in my fastest lap so far, so I think I should get another 0.2 - 0.3 out of it. If I ever really nail it, that is.

Splits so far:

T1: 14.760
T2: 32.654
T3: 57.019

Steven, I don't want to be a pain in the butt but my splits you updated are not from a clean lap (actually, I never even completed that lap ). Could you change it back to my previous splits with the Woodone please? 14.659/32.838/56.677

Thanks - and sorry for any confusion

Slight split improvement but overall .5 sec lap gained:

15.071
32.945
57.307

Woodone @ 330.

I'm loving this, surely I'll send all 5 laps by the end of the week. So far, I only ran the first one on the list: the Cerumo:
14.349
31.826
55.709
This lap felt good, not much to gain, but there's at least 0.1 at the last sector (the last corner is a complete shot of luck to make the car remain stable while carrying a good speed :scared: )

The '00 cars won't be able to compete with the others at all, despite having the same stats.

Happy birthday WRS

Lol i could not believe it when i looked through here but we have the same T3 Cmir ;). So i must be doing something right as i was .2 down on you at T1 ay.

0'14.526
0'31.893
0'55.709

ESH you better change that signature man! It's almost been 3 days since your promotion and your already trying to sandbag?! Just kidding man welcome to D2! No updates for me so far tonight. I haven't even ran at all though now that I think about it I might have to hop in the Woodone and run a couple of laps.

Ha! Already ahead of you man! Watched it last night... Now, from other stuff I've found, the rental companies(Avis and Hertz) strictly forbid driving their rentals around the 'Ring. As far as I've gathered.

I found this place though, and if it's not an ADDITIONAL 21EUR to do each lap, I'll probably end up doing this. http://www.ringhaus.com/

We shall see!

A decent first session in the Cerumo:
T1: 14.694
T2: 32.400
T3: 56.460

More to come.

Followed up in the Woodone, and it's a different type of animal. More stable, mostly due to it being a naturally aspirated engine with less torque, and possibly softer suspension. It's a little more neutral/understeery when compared to the awesomeness that is the Cerumo under throttle, but it's quite manageable, and nice to drive. The Woodone I don't think minds having shorter gearing to help it along(was using 300), but it seems like it may do ok with taller gearing as well. I think it could be right up there with the Cerumo.

👍👍 Sweet combo Jerry! Will definitely have to come back to this after I've done some packing!

sorted

new board EDIT updated up to post 81

Mike, you want to disclose your car of choice for the board or playing hide & seek with Ron and Carlos? :)

I really need to get some playing time in. My encounter with the wall is just way too close to call, but I don't know if I'll be able to pull off something better.

Also, those t3 times are great from some of the div 1 drivers. Very quick, I don't see where I can pull out half a second anywhere in that section.

Hate to be a pain in the ass, but I think you need to look at the board again. It seems EDK is up there wit my T3 time. Running trhough this thread I saw the EDK's T3 is about 2 seconds slower than mine...

You could never be, Bart :) anyway, scrutinized and hopefully sorted now. Kevin, are you ok with the current board as well mate?

My times with the Woodone '03

0'14.797 / 0'32.772 / 57.297 ...

Even though I can brake later and it's more control over the bumps (Woodone), my future attempts will be with the Cerumo. One of my favourite cars in the game, and also good looking stickers ;)

Yep - I know I am slow at the moment, call it sand bagging if you will, but no run for me since my first 5 laps in one car. Out East until I get on a plane in the am. Should be able to make up some of this over the weekend, but not sure if I have 2 seconds in me.

Kevin

I just tried the Woodone, no other Supra, in 330 gear, auto

t1/ 0.15.147
t2/ 0.33.259
t3/ 0.58.077

I will check later the others as well.

First session in the Woodone:

14.800
32.718
56.940

Topspeed 320

I now got times in all 5 cars. The slowest in the Cerumo (2.2 seconds after the woodone  ), which was my first ride this week.

Looking forward to some more racing in the weekend. :D

Yeah I had forgotten about it. I wish I were trying to sandbag. I'm horribly slow on this track. The section after T1 up to the tunnel is confusing me and I think where most of my time is lost. I dont always use the red flashing gear as a guide but the right-hander before the tunnel is calling for just slowing, not a downshift, in 4th gear and way earlier than I'm used to. Every time I try to just use 4th by slowing I turn in too early and hit the rocks or lose even more time.

The fastest T3 I've seen is 57.015 but I got caught up on the left-hander after the downhill slowing to within a .5 second of my fastest overall time.

I think tracks with weird blind, at times, camber changes, like in the qualifier, really escape me.

Yeah I have had problems with the rocks before entry, smacking them on the left side more so than hitting them on the inside of the turn. I definitely scrubbed them a couple of times exiting as well! This car has more than enough torque to leave it in fourth for a lot of the turns as well as the handling abilities to really slice through some of the corners. Keep throwing efforts at that corner as it is pretty important to a fast lap time. Just vary entry speed and turn in location until you get it right. I sometimes wish you could select certain portions of the track to run/practice( basically split into the pre-determined sectors) and run them time and time again. Then again it's probably better to run full laps all the time to really learn the track and string it all together.

Gave the Cerumo a few laps and came up with the following:

15.218
33.045
57.518

As stated elsewhere I'm a real Woodone fan but this care is growing on me.

boardyboardy EDIT updated up to post 91

Sorry for getting seemingly weird at times but these update posts do that to you - well they do that to me anyway

Here are some T's from me:

T1: 14.767
T2: 32.428
T3: 56.661

Having trouble with T1... feels like there is time to take there. Using the au cerumo supra.

Well I made some good progress in the Woodone tonight. Just to be followed by a quick jaunt in the au Cerumo. I really thought maybe the Woodone was going to be the one but man that au Cerumo although sometimes quick to snap oversteer (really only in t1 in the first two turns) is one fast smooth beast. My replays show it. The Woodone I kind of muscle from looking at the video (felt smooth at the time), and the au Cerumo is just glassy. I guess it would all look better if my times were about 1-1.5secs faster by t3 though!

Woodone 300 gearing
t1- 14.801
t2- 32.381
t3- 56.376
