I've been busy playing musical TVs too this week. No way the budget was going to stretch to one of those flat things so instead I picked up a Sony 34" 1080i CRT (KV-34HS420). Hands down the best picture I've seen on anything (and that includes plasma, projection and LCD) but the thing took three of us to carry upstairs as it weighs 190lbs.

Best part though was the price, $500 including the matching stand. Widescreen and the bigger display is nice for GT-4 but the real motivation behind this was being ready for a PS3/GT5 when it comes out in April.

Did do a couple of sessions in the Woodone, T3 in the mid fifty sevens right now but that's with 400 gearing so could probably be improved a little :-) I know, I should pay more attention but for some reason I remembered most people were running 400 not 300 and I usually just following the pack (who know much more about this than I do). Baaaaaa !!

New T's

LOL, I've imagined some unpleasantly long and drawn out demises for both of you, banning would just be a start! Didn't you give this up a while ago, anyway?:sly: And what ever happened to herman?

Oh, and I'm around 14.5/32.0/55.9 with the Woodie. Freaking Cerumo understeers under my lead foot. I'll get some actual splits up in a bit.

How you guys get 55.XXX is beyond me. I haven't seen one T3 of mine under 57. Think I might just submit my times and to defeat this week...

FINALLY, some updated splits for me. Seems like there is no replacement for multiple sessions. I never seem to be able to catch you guys when I travel and miss those couple of week night 20 or 30 minute sessions. Longer seesions normally result in more bad habits and do not improve my splits.

Anyhow, 2 new cars and 2 sets of splits -

au Cerumo
15.180
33.231
57.980

'01 Tom's
15.490
33.464
57.720

Solid finshes on both, total lap times are separated by about the difference in T3.

Hoping to get in one last ditch session tonight. I'm getting ready to go into the city today for strong beer month at 21st Amendment brewery :), so I'm not sure that last ditch session will really net anything. :dopey:

Kevin

EDIT: BTW, forgot to mention my adventures in wheel repair. My downshift to the lowest gear glitch finally started happening every other lap and I figured I'd better fix it before I threw it out the window. I looked at the repair thread, went out to Radio Shack and bought a dual temp electronics soldering iron and some silver bearing solder for about 15 bucks, spent about an hour and a half on the wheel, and it's as good as new :). 420 gearing seems to suit best for me this week, as it requires fewer shifts and less precision on the throttle point coming out of corners 👍

Hekke, your an absolute "ALIEN MONSTER.":scared:

There should be a special Div. just for you my friend!!!!

Edit: Kevin, Happy to see you made back home safely. Designated driver I hope!:sly:

Thanks Ron - Great time you have there this week. 👍 I managed to get out before any ice issues on Friday morning. :scared:

Taking BART train into the city and have the wife along for the drive home, so no issues with drinking and driving the Beemer.

Supras when I get home will be another matter :sly:

Have a Woodford for me!

WOODONE

Had faster splits on previous fast lap but beat that with this one. Finally under 57.xxx. Saw a 14.6xx in this session but still losing time. Will try again this evening.

Still haven't given up on this... Some new splits from my last try today:

T1: 14.311 (have seen 14.191)
T2: 31.771
T3: 55.682

Gonna make a last effort tomorrow.

My final splits for the week. I wish I could just keep up with my T1. These laps this week were wicked, ended by probably the hardest final set of corners I have encountered in my WRS history. I'm sure these corners were harder for me than Sjaak's last combo here. What a different set of combo's. :) Thanks guys....!

Woodone
14.638 :D
33.006 :indiff:
57.785 :grumpy:

Ok, so after passing out early for the past two days i have FINALY managed to get up the gumption for annother run. Gonna drive my guts out tonight and submit if i come up with anything better.

[edit]

Just saw a 56.5 and promptly tanked it.

[edit]

Just now got a 56.2 and came in slower at the line >_<

Submitted all 5 laps to Jerry as I'm out of time as I'm busy all day tomorrow and the walls were just too frustrating for me this week :scared:

Good Luck to all taking part 👍

NEW SPLITS

T1: 14.661

T2: 32.336

T3: 56.104

Clean as a freakin whistle.

Odds are this will be my submitted run.

I managed to get in one last run in the Woodone and make a small improvement on my overall lap time. T3 was exactly the same as '01 Tom's in my earlier post. :odd:

Hoping this will at least keep me in silver land this week, just ran out of time.

Final splits from 3 submitted lap times -

au Cerumo
15.180
33.231
57.980

'01 Tom's
15.490
33.464
57.720

Woodone

Happy Anniversary, WRS!

Happy Anniversary WRS!!!
:cheers::cheers:

So does this mean the winner gets first dibs on cake.. :P ...

I don't know aht it was about this combo but I just couldn't get it figured out until late last night. The splits I posted early in the week (with a 56.6xx T3) I couldn't touch ( I was averaging maybe one complete lap out every fifteen attempts). And then last night it all came together - just too late, although I did pick up 0.6 at the line.

Time submitted.

Oh yeah final splits 14.601 / 32.609 / 56.627 with the au Cerumo and 320 gears.

I found the same thing, there are so many places to come unstuck on this track that I suspect only the Aliens will be able to put a clean lap together. Any loss of traction/skidding costs significant time in the Woody and just about every corner has ample opportunity to screw up and hit something. Especially up to T1 I think I mess up those first three bends five times for every run I make it through.

Bit of a shock after last week where you pointed the car in the right direction then went off for a cuppa while it took the corner :-).

Times submitted
Nice run this week gtbadboy. 👍
I have a buddy that does concrete work if the track owners need some work done. I want my 10% commission though. :odd: :mischievous:
This is just a review for any that would like to see the splits I came up with during this week. Fastest to slowest lap time.

Cerumo......15.066/33.163/57.595

Woodone....15.038/32.806/57.261

Tom's 01....15.232/33.177/58.003

Tom's 00....15.116/33.435/57.961

Denso .......15.455/33.526/58.503

I want to thank all that participate in the WRS.

Happy 5th WRS:cheers:

I ran a little last night and improved my time at the liine by like .04 bah, anyway here are the splits I'm gonna sub.

14.518 / 32.087 / 55.736

Times submitted. Spent about 90% on the Woodone and was able to knock down my time in the Cerumo. Only ran the '00 Castrol once and didn't get a chance to get a decent run with the Denso as I just finished and ran upstairs to pm Sphinx :scared:. I really did like driving the Denso and the Castrol '00 in the limited time I had. They seemed the most solid and really hugged the road. Alot of the issues I had with the faster cars weren't present in these 2 cars.

Anyway, splits for final 3 cars I got clean laps with, fast to slow:

Woodone

T1 14.868
T2 32.752
T3 56.588

Cerumo

T1 14.882
T2 32.622
T3 56.978

Castrol '00

T1 14.981
T2 33.234
T3 57.338

Good luck all!
