Some funny comments guys  ... for the record I done a 20 lap session before this was posted to test the D1 handicap for Jerry so I had a little head start so to speak ... I wouldn't consider myself an alien in the racing world either as I will surely be shocked by the inevitable killer splits posted by the likes of Hekke and Hugo! All racers have these guys they race against who crush there hard earned laps with ease ;) I would say after so many years playing GT I am expected to be quick out of the blocks! but alas the cost is I am very quickly out of steam also

Thanks for the mentions anyway
but trust me! .. the splits I have are not good enough to even threaten the upcoming alien splits as I have seen a good .3 left around T2 myself and god only knows what the faster guys will pull off :scared:

Enjoy the race guys! this combo is great 👍

This is the link to the last handicap race @ Suzuka:

Sjaak from division 2 came 3rd overall with only a .148 gap between him and the overall winner, Hugo. (div 1)

DJ Baker from division 3 came 4th overall with only a .372 gap between him and the overall winner, Hugo. (div 1)

I therefore decided to give division 3 just a few more extra horses to bring them closer to div 1 & 2 at the finish line.

On paper, a handicap should allow each division to cross the line at the exact same time, and this is what I have attempted to do.

Jerry - For what it's worth, coming from one of the D3 guys, I think you are right on.

See also week 124 that Sjaak put on, Weddsport Celica at Montegi. D1 was +5, D2 was +10 and D3 was +16. Jay won D1 and was promoted not long after that. He was about a second off the pace and I was about a second behind him. I think the extra 3 percent and some better depth in D3 should play out well by the end of the week.

We shall see.

25.013

Great combo.👍

And remember,T2 is not the finish.
The extra HP can do good things for T3.

yep for sure ,but with the wrong tires :dopey:

25.730
57.526

is more likely.

however,I will return with better splits.:)

Before you realized you were on super-softs, I was laughing because we had exactly the same T2! The handicap isn't working fully quite yet, but I'm sure it will before the end of the week.

25.380
56.740 racing-soft :D

Not very happy with my finish though.
I lost 0.3 in the last part but my goal is in reach.

Feels good this combo,a true classic and always fun.

My BC7 car... and I don't miss it :scared:

First session, and my splits are:
25.349
56.514
Top speed 300
I could get another 0.1 at each sector, but I have no idea how Ron gets that 55

A nice combo, as always, but somehow I didn't get too excited as some of you. Maybe because this is a classic, a much used car in a much used track and it feels like having been done before, so it's not something new. I even found last week's race more fun, in opposition to most. Still, I count on having a great week running this. 👍

Suggestion: How about a tyre handicap race? Of course it would have to be a hard combo, so that the upper divisions' skill could make for the loss of traction.

I hate to say it, but I even agree with that. Well, last week for me was a blast, and a massive challenge. El Cap. is my favorite track too, but I think what is hurting the DTM car for me is it's artificial levels of grip. These tires never really used to bother me, but this combo it just doesn't tickle me like it normally does. We'll see if I come to grips with it when I get more time in. Hopefully I do, but seeing Ron up there, and not at the moment seeing how, makes me :scared:.

A tyre handicap is too difficult to set up because the different trye compounds aren't adjustable enough to level things out.

Guys, give this week a miss if it doesn't 'rock your boat' anymore.

It's no big deal reading comments like this seeing that I spend hours on end trying to please all of the people, all of the time, but it is rude IMO.

Don't take it personally, we love and appreciate all the work and time you put into every week!

We're just expressing opinions because we don't necessarily feel the same way others do. And because I, for whatever reason, like to whine, or something.

I guess if we don't have anything nice to say we shouldn't really say anything...

Sorry if it didn't sound good, it wasn't my intention. :( I was just commenting how I prefered last week's race over this, unlike most guys here. After all, what I said was that last week was good, not that this one was bad. I know you put a lot of effort in this series and you deserve reading nice words from us, and I'm sure we all appreciate your job 👍 I'll just keep my mouth shut to prevent messing it more. :(

Ignore me. Monday nights is stress night due to trying to fit eveything in. After the results are published I'll be fine.

Guys, guys, please. I think Jerry has - as always - superbly prepared another great combo (which I particularly like a big big lot :)), on which Kyle and Carlos expressed that they liked another one better. No big deal or is it?

As Jake and some other US fellows would say: race on!

EDIT just did 5 odd laps and improved significantly - to me anyway :

26.113 - 58.813 - 1.4 faster at the s/f

hopefully much more to come 👍

REedit updated up to post 51 & welcome back Kelly!

I'm in this week, time to get the thumbs back in action :tup

Back soon with some rusty T times

Hey Kelly, Nice to see you here. I too will be getting the thumbs back in action for this one. Its not that I haven't raced here in a while, I have other reasons. I hope to be able to use the dfp by weeks end, but its not promising.

👍👍 to Sphinx

I echo the sentiments of those who appreciate Jerry's efforts.👍👍

While this is one of my favorite cars, I don't do well on El Cap.:grumpy: It's not that I don't like it, I've yet to solve it between t1 and t2. Maybe this will be the week I put the puzzle together. 💡

For me, it's just another opportunity to learn more about the sport of race car driving. While I have no expectations of doing well this week, who knows maybe I'll surprise myself. :) In any event the pedal is to the metal and my body shop is prepared for the worst. :scared:

With that comes:

26.545
1'00.511

Nothing like getting a little pissed at yourself to get motivated. No dents, no scrapes not even a rub!! Now can I find 3 sec. to put a scare into MrP?

26.069
58.726:crazy::scared::dopey:

You're getting too close for comfort, Sjaak! I guess I'll have to figure out the first corner tonight to maybe shave off a tenth or two.

Thanks :)

This combo is cool! 25.603/ 57.552 just need to iron out a few creases here and there and I should be back on form fairly quick :D

Something is just not working for me.

T1: 25.767
T2: 57.353

I'm not sure if I can pull a lot more out of this car. I'm taking a bad line somewhere, I know it.

EDIT: Looking at the leaderboard, it's not so bad..

I think Mr. P's time just threw me off.

25.550 / 56.942
That's enough for one night, lost .3 on last bend alone and a couple on the hairpin, I'll be back for these so keep an eye in the mirror Sjaak ;)

After unfortunately being able to spend only a bit of one night on last week's (and never submitting :dunce:), I'm really looking forward to this one - I love El Cap.

And, to keep my record perfect, because I always ask this question at this track: is any concrete beyond the curbs/rumbles/paint part of the track? In particular, there is the large concrete area inside the right just before entering the tunnel and concrete beyond what looks like paint on the outside of the left after crossing the bridge.

Finding it hard to pass my ghost now looks like ive just about reached my limit a couple more .100's for me.

Round first sector is fine second sector i just cant brake that 57.x

T1 25.625
T2 57.320

QUIK!

Bed time for me:

25.950
58.303

Sure wish I could tune in the second sector.:grumpy:

Nice splits, Ron.

I found time for a quick second session this evening. Improved by nearly 2 seconds at the line, but most of that was improvement to the last sector.

26.526
58.869

With 300 Gearing, but I might play with something higher, too many shifts and the engine red lines before it sounds like it should.

I have seen 25.9XX and 58.2XX, but I need to go back and study the last sector from my current fastest lap, because the ghost keeps passing me on the last straight when I get better splits.

The good news is that I know it's there, I just need to put it all together.

Will be back later in the week with updates, still sticking with my goal of trying to catch Mr. P. :nervous:

Kevin
