Well i know where im at and thats gt5-p lol. My dfp is now down stairs with the big tv and ps3 and ps2 is up stairs. to much messing around to do both. But i did do a test run on stock settings in the 38's t2.

After playing around with the car settings a bit, and having no idea of what I did, I finally managed to get better splits. I've just used the settings posted here, and the tuning guide at gtvault too get to this:

Brakes: 9/11
Springrate: 10/10.4
Ride Height: 93/98
Stab: don't remember :P
Auto gearing 8
All driving aids disabled

T1: 21.747
T2: 39.052

I'm not sure that this improvment is because of the the settings rather then I just drove better.

Yep, same here I'm afraid. I do however fully intend to get in a long session before the deadline. 👍

Back to normal next week :)

gt5-p still a couple of weeks away here. I did notice you and Sphinx on line the other day before I left home. Funny thing Mike, you were'nt shooting anyone that day! :scared:

Looking to leave the dfp on the ps2 and picking up a g25 for the ps3 but I'm going to have to sell SWMBO on that one!!:sly:

Back home tomorrow and hopefully can get this car into the 38's.

Good luck to all!👍

Too busy studying here atm. Could manage an hour of driving last week, but this week and next week there won't be any time submissions from me...

Have fun all :sly:

Well, play.uk.com has given me no indication I'll see my UK GT5P for at least a week, so that's out for me for a bit. I did have some time today to run with the right tires and a wacky setup not worth posting.

21.302
38.114

Sometimes I run laps that aren't particulary fast but they sure are fun. Nice combo.

New short session in, beginning to like this combo :P

21.623
38.712

Trying to get this one under control and improve my time.

New splits, and I picked up 0.7 at the line, but I am still feeling SLOW.

22.121
39.714

21.076
37.934

Had about all I can take of those tires.:indiff:

Edit:
21.262
37.762

Sus
5.2 6.0
100 100
8 8
8 8
1.8 0.8
-1 1
3 4
trany trick A1 F 4.300
lsd 7 14 7
brakes 3 3
Aids 3 0 0

Ok...Now I've had all I can take of those tires.

This is some toughhhhhh stuffffff.

I'm braking before T1 for the most part, so people's T1s could be all over the place.

Just did my first oil change as I noticed my power had dropped to 280hp as I made some more tuning adjustments.

Can see another 2-4 tenths with how things are currently going, we'll see what this 4hp and two minor settings changes make. 👍

T1: 21.304
T2: 37.921

EDIT: GAH!!!! Soo much time spent, with nothing to show for it. Very addicting, always chasing what's right in front of your nose. Could've had a more productive day, but, this was calling me. I have something that's two tenths faster than these splits, with a 37.664 T2, but I don't think it's clean, haven't checked it yet. An hour or so later I did a 37.7xx T2 that was probably clean and finished only .02x behind the .664 lap, but it didn't get saved because I was still slower than the .664 lap.

Updated the board with some great new splits by rmk. Well done Rod, maybe some more sweat and pass old Dan?

Totally fed up with this combo, especially 'cos I'm running the GT world champs in the professional series where I'm only loosing some city races but winning the rest in the C9. Almost getting to 80% in my A-spec only gamesave, but last night VERY tempted to let Bob take care of some of the races.

Submitting my craplap now and awaiting the next GT mode race with interest. Running some test laps at Motegi West and wondering what car Jerry has up his sleeve for us this time. The last time Motegi was suggested in the suggestions box Kent asked for a track meeting over there ... some traffic might be fun! If so two manufacturer challenges are located there: Suzuki Concepts and Spitfire Cup.

Thanks for putting me first Bigracer, but i'm afraid OnlyMe has faster splits (post 127):

21.623
38.712

LOL Andy Read the splits without first reading the line of text. Kinda freaked me out thinking you drove the exact same splits as me :D

Edit:
PS: how's GT5-P workin' out for ya?

Back with some new splits:
T1: 21.808
T2: 38.904

I've seen 38.640 and 38.70x but both lost it in the last sector. Will try again later today or tomorrow.

I need a new Tv for GT5P :). Can't drive cockpit view because I still have a small 4:3 television and the side mirrow falls off :(. I'm working on that one, i'll probably buy one in the next two weeks. Anyone tips? I can't choise between a full HD LCD or HD ready plasma :(. But besides that its a fun game. Don't play it too much at the moment because then I need too much time too get used to this car again. And as usual, I want too beat you!! :P

Couldn't let it go so tried another session:

T1: 21.426
T2: 38.547

This will be my final splits. It would take too long trying to be faster then this :)

I need a new Tv for GT5P :).

I had to do it on a budget so I picked up one of the 34" Sony HD CRTs. I've seen the superfine pitch models going on Craigslist for under $400 including stand. As far as picture quality and response time they will still beat any current LCD or Plasma. The only down side is that they weigh close to 200lbs. The horizontal resolution isn't as good as the LCD/Plasma either but the superfine pitch can go to about 1300 horizontal which is all GT-5P generates anyway. Vertically they are 1080i with uninterrupted vertical stripes so that's actually slightly better than an LCD and the feeling is that driving games need vertical resolution more than horizontal.

Been away five days at Legoland with the wife and kids so unless I can get some time in tonight I'm pretty much toast for this week. Sigh .....

I had a last half-hour session, and I decided to be a man (:dopey:) and keep my setup (I'm 99% sure rmk700's is way better, but I don't want to get another good result in a GT Mode race at his expense), with the dampers at 10 as Perfect Balance suggested, though I didn't notice the difference as my previous setting of 7 was close to it.

My new laptime has slower splits:
21.368
38.111
and my best-ever last sector.

Looks like one of the last places in D1 is for me :ouch: , but oh well, it was fun anyway 👍

I don't think I'll be doing any more runs, so I'll probably be submitting soon. My final sector wasn't so great though, even with slower splits I sometimes gain on my ghost in that section.

Nice turnout this week, can't wait to see the times.

I give up.

I don't like admitting defeat. I've never spent so much time after my submitted lap without an improvement. I've done multiple laps faster, and can see faster, and can go faster, it's just not coming together. I've only been .2 faster dirty, but can see and can in theory do .4-.5 faster, and with the amount of time I've spent, I SHOULD have at least that .2, but nooooooooooo.

Submitting the posted splits. :(

Yeah, what he said.............Almost to the letter, only I think my fastest dirty is 0.3 faster than my sub and I can see 0.5+

'twas not meant to be, on to next week. 👍

A fantastic challenge you put before us on this one Jerry!

It's soo elusive :dopey: I really dig this combo on many levels; like the mr, had to battle the setup, then drift/grip aargh crash. Puting a smooth eye pleasing lap together is reward enough for me. 👍 Jerry.

Turned on the ps2 a while back and within 4 laps came up with 21.021 / 37.681... .037 slower then my last splits at the line:ouch::) which means I droped .19 so I checked the logger and the only mistake was braking just a hair to soon for the last turn :scared: stoked none the less as it's probably one of the best laps I've ever laid down.

Enough rambling, I'll try for a while more tonight but most likely sub from previous splits.

I took the step by step approach & over 500 miles later I'm still not sure how much the various bits helped, or if I just got used to driving the car. I am sure that I don't like Comfort tires. Still prefer GT Mode races though.
T1: 0'21.478
T2: 0'38.758
Lap time submitted.
Good luck to everyone that stuck with it.

Time submitted.

I hit the 600 mile mark on this one, that's enough. My submitted lap was my last lap also. The ghost I chased was created at the 216 mile mark. I feel like the adjustments made tuning this week made the car drive better though my t times never really got any better (t2 - .036). The final section I was able to clean up a lot and improve the final time by almost a .5 second. not impressive for 350 miles, but an improvement just the same.

Just had a last 90 minute-session (longest WRS-session ever by a long shot). Managed a small improvement and I hope I can take a shot for the division win, but I doubt it... Been a fun week though 👍

Final splits:
21.452
38.465

Submitting.
