New times, in my "used" Minolta:

T1: 33.762
T1: 27.134

Now I'm off to win a new Minolta, so I can get back that 40ish hp I'm missing.

Not gonna be a whole lot of spread in the top 20 for this gem.Don't imagine splits will come down tenths at a time, more loke hundriths. Anyway first attempt

34.108
27.300

Improved a little bit...

L1: 0'32.866 (seen 0'32.6xx)
L2: 0'26.594 (seen 0.26.1xx)

Hardest task this week will be doing one's best first lap, second lap, AND in the same run... :D

The Wizard.

@Kolyana, I don't recall which cars you have in your garage, but really any RACING car should do the trick, like if you have the Oreca Race Car, or WAIT! I remember! Use the R92CP u said this weekend you bought those 4 black cars, use those Nat!

Am now doing 26.8's in time trial mode (free run)

Still playing with the settings.

Quite enjoying it now i have got used to a car the wants to 'shake-it's-boodie' in a straight line, can do 245ish around the first corner....nice and stable.........that is until I straighten up and it tries to bite me in the ass coz it still wants to shake it's head!

I have found that a front toe setting of -1 does help with turn-in and corner speed!

But the rest of the settings are still a little fluid till i find what works for me!

Neil

P.S.

Hi Nat, you gonna kick our butts for a change this week?, that is if you can get your foot that high without a stool! LOL
(Not wise to wind up a woman who owns two guns(legally that is) and has 'devil's eyes' in photo's) :crazy: :crazy: :)

@ T'Wiz

Nice splits mate, and dead on with your comment!
Set the car up for the first lap, and the rears go off, set it up to last two laps with harder rears and the first lap suffers. Q.E.D.

Neil

intersting combination u have conjured cfm, i shall put some time into it and post a competitive final submission but there is NO WAY anyone is gonna be veilsidber this week, he owns the Minolta (seriously, he has one in his garage, along with his wild dogs, hehe)

lsd 5/5/5
tcs 3
gearing 20

a little hint, don't take any downforce off unless you want to drift all the corners LOL

Why did I get myself into this?!?!?!? LOL. Here's my first hour of racing this both in practice mode and some races.

Nice, missed last week and was :eek: when I saw the Minolta for this week. First run:

Lap 1 - 33.148
Lap 2 - 26.665

Running just about everything maxed in the suspension (except camber and toe of course), and auto 20 on gears, but might drop that to 19. Hitting 246 mph with still some left on the second lap. My Minolta only has 1193 HP, wonder if that's cuz of the 4000 miles on it :lol: ??? Might have to win a new one here....

@ T'Wiz

Nice splits mate, and dead on with your comment!

Thanks man and I am glad I could be of help 👍
I am still far away from where I want to be, though.

But there's plenty of time :D

Going to race some more...

The Wizard.

If you leave the AI setting at 0, it will give you the same type of cars to run against. You blow buy them before the first turn.

Speed setting - 19

t2 times
33.769
26.674

👍 👍 To CFM this week on a Great track and car combo.
Man its fun throwing the Minolta around the turns with abandon :crazy: :scared:

Lost something at L1, gained something at L2 - final time 0.1 faster...

L1: 0'33.109
L2: 0'26.239

Right now I am a second slower than where I want to be and where I know I can be - I actually managed that time, but lap 1 was barely dirty :indiff:

Once I reach that, I will still be 0.4 away from where I really want to be :D

Much work to be done...

The Wizard.

that's weird... my minolta is only 1196 BHP after oil change... how do i get it above 1200?? or have i raced it too much! :)

~~~~ Jase
Man, I have seen L1's into the 32.5xx and L2's into the 25.9xx, I just could never do them both on the same race... :banghead:
Oh well, it's just day 1 after all...
The Wizard.
after an hour of playing today... t1 as fast/slow as 33.8xx, and L2 t1 of around 26.8-9
still mucking around with settings :crazy:
~~~~ Jase

Ran about 7 laps with standard settings. I'm lucky that I think I was the only person who won the minolta 731 days ago and have never driven it...

Pretty Awful Split times

L1: 33.877
L2: 27.668

Seems to be a problem here with peak power figures, i won the car last night and i produces 1165 with a stage 4 turbocharger fitted, how can we race with all different power figures!??

Seriously though this car is a pig, this week feels more like some sort of sega arcade challenge than GT4......wish it had been the Pescarolo.

The power thing needs addressing as someone mentioned a figure of 1232 which is at least 67BHP more than i can get!

I had the same. Just do an oil change, and it should have 1223 BHP. I think the 1232 is a typo. I think 1223 is the max you get out of it...

Wow!!!!!!!!!!!! Some serious power!!!! I waited for a Group C car!!! And it became the Minolta!!!!!! Yeah!!!! This is going to be very interesting!

my section times for fastest lap:

L1: 34.274
L2: 27.271

Still some improvement to be made...

I need serious help!

I've just spent 3 hours on this week's race and I don't have a single finished race. Not one!

I don't know what I'm doing with the tuning of the car so I've copied people's from here and I cannot...for the life of me...take...the very last...corner ! ! !

I have tried numerous strategies but nothing results in a competitive time. I've got super-dooper-slicks on and all the way until the very last corner I am sweet...not a problem but every single race I've stuffed that corner and no method I've tried will get me around that corner on those red raw tyres. If I drop to harder tyres I can't get decent splits.

Please, can somebody help me...how on earth can I be completely beat by this when no one else has even mentioned it?!? :(

EDIT: I just went back and tried again to do a lap with Racing softs on the rear tyres and got some splits, so at least I have a race replay! (The splits in brackets are what I've seen using qualifiers on the rear)

Lap1 - T1: 0'34.550 (0'33.4xx)
Lap2 - T1: 0'27.514 (0'26.9xx)

So I know for a fact I've left 1.7 seconds on the track by T1 of Lap 2 just by using Racing Softs on the rear tyres...I just can't see how it's possible to do a whole race with qualifiers on the rear??????????????????

its funny that nobody mencioned the tire wear, and it really puts R5´s on its limit...

very tricky to get that last turn... brake very early and hit the gas gentlydon´t brake turning the car, or you will be dead in the wall...

I seem to be having the opposite problem!

It's the rears i can't get to last, the only solution i have found for that is to turn the TCS up ( and I REALLY don't like to do that, at all!)

I am experimenting with lsd and suspension settings in an effort to reduce rear tyre wear whilst not adversly effecting the handling. Slowly improving lap times,with tyres heading from Baboon's rump to Jaffa!

Will let you know how i get on!

Neil

t1 - 33.5
t2 - 27.1

smashed my best first lap time by 1.6 seconds

im having trouble with tyre wear though, using softs on rear on lap above, but i kno i can complete the lap with qualifiers, but its soooo difficult!!

yesterday, after b spec bob got me a new minolta, a ran some laps and couldn´t get 32´s in the first lap... i think i had 33´2 and then 26´3, but just some laps and they had awful finishes...

like week 16 (i guess, the one with the NSX´s) i´m frustrated that i can´t tune up the cars anymore... back in the good old days of GT2, i was very good on identifying a problem and then seting up the car according to that... now it seens that every tweak i get, makes the car worst...

the only thing that looks to be a lock on all cars is to turn off the LSD and the driving aids... other than that, my suspension settings suck, i i still didn´t understand how to make affective changes with the brakes...

last night i ran about 10 tries with the minolta, and i still don´t know if its better to go with, or without TCS on 1... lost time in the start with TCS off, but lost time during the race with TCS on... anyway, back tires red in the final lap are also a problem...

lets see what i can do tonight... cya

Have just tried Jump-Ace's settings, thanx Jerome!

Seeing improvements in splits now that i have got used to it transitioning from lovely, controlable powerslide drifting into scary understeer without much warning! lol

Have seen CLEAN 26.245 in free-run but still not got a firm time i'm happyish with in race-mode!

Think I'm turning into the Stig, have had 60's and 70's rock music (mainly Pink Floyd,Alan Parsons,Deep Purple,ELP and Led Zep) blasting out through my nice 5.1 sound-card and speakers whilst having the game sound doing the same (via optical) and i can annoy the teenage neighbours with some descent music, and play at the same time! BRILL!

Oh, and i think i'm a bit quicker too! :)

Neil

i've just spent 2 nights in a hospital after a pretty bad mountain biking accident and my face is all scratched up and i just escaped a broken neck but ill give this a try if i can. Now thats a hardcore GT4'er for ya.
