I really don't like this week's combo. For some reason I can run faster w/ both TCS and ASM on. I am almost 1 second faster, and finally saw 32.8xx and 26.6xx.

I don't like playing w/ the setup either, it's so hard to tell what exactly is needed w/ this POS. (That's right Veil, I think this car is a POS) J/K :)

So ur da sucker eh? LOL....by the way I think I counted 5,428 C++ programming books in your living room this weekend Nat....hehehehehehe. We do need to play a game of chess sometime tho.

Yerrrrrssss, I have somewhat of a passion for programming and for books ... ergo impso facto ... programming books :P

Just don't ask me how many I've actually read.

As for the leaderboard, I figured it would be a good way to maintain some form of tie to the WRS and GT4, regardless of what else I do with my life ... it keeps me interested, you know?

Chess: Yes, definitively. I'm somewhat rusty (last time I played was about 5 years ago), but I really love the game, so maybe one day you can come over, well drink some wine and have a nice relaxing game or two ... that would be nice.

Slow splits in stock Toyota

L1, T1: 35.187 ( :yuck: so wheelspin isn't faster?!? :dopey: )

L2, T1: 27.153

This was on R4s all round, I'm going to have to tune the hell out of this car to run R5s.

Or learn to drive. :dunce:

shoulda used the dirtbike style helmets... especially mountain biking
but luckily your ok

0'32.814
0'26.074

veil how is it possible that you are getting 0'32.392 without even using tcs at the start?

/\
*MAGIC* I can't stop my wheels from spinning with no tcs on and I lose too much time at the start eventhough the car drives TONS better without it on.....*SIGH*

Okay, somewhat off topic, but here's my alternative to this week's event name:

"Fast Family Foto Finish"

Minolta makes cameras right?

Here's to close racing...

I need serious help!

I've just spent 3 hours on this week's race and I don't have a single finished race. Not one!

I don't know what I'm doing with the tuning of the car so I've copied people's from here and I cannot...for the life of me...take...the very last...corner ! ! !

You are not the only one, man... I feel your anger :banghead:
You don't know how many 32.5's and 25.9's I killed because of that last corner... But that's not due to the tires, I actually can take it better when my tires are red than when they are green :D

I just can't seem to find a consistant, fast way of doing it...
I use R5's on both front and rear, by the way... and I end up with the rear ones being dark orange by the end of lap 2. If you are burning them, it probably means you are sliding/drifting the car too much. Drive it like it's on rails :D

Think I'm turning into the Stig, have had 60's and 70's rock music (mainly Pink Floyd,Alan Parsons,Deep Purple,ELP and Led Zep) blasting out through my nice 5.1 sound-card and speakers whilst having the game sound doing the same (via optical) and i can annoy the teenage neighbours with some descent music, and play at the same time! BRILL!

Way to go, Neil 👍
Let's leave this modern crap people call music to the neighbours... and the good ol' stuff to us ol' men :D (even if I am only 25...)

Pink Floyd, Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin are part of my favorites too 👍
Along with many others...

Good luck with the race - good music does help :D

whoa, share you setting veilsidebr!!! go on, u kno u want to

There´s no settings mate, nothing special. :)

The only things i really changed were No Tcs nor asm, LSD all 5 level, ahn, rear downforce at 82 and full front downforce, rear bound and rebound 6 and front bound and rebound 7.

Nothing more i guess, camber stock, mostly all stock.

Just did tranny trick and auto level 20, but i didn´t see a difference. 👍

Don´t you know that there´s no tcs better than a quick foot balance, in case, the right foot? ;)

try starting in higher gears, and having as much throttle as you can then holding it their then slowing going to full throttle?, i havnt tried this but its normally the best way to launch cars if you dont use TCS.

Just had a Eureka run of sorts...

Lap 1 - 32.793 👍
Lap 2 - 26.329 :indiff:

Wasn't breaking 33.1xx's or 26.5xx's before that lap. Might have hit my limit, but I slid in the last turn and probably cost myself a good 0.2, as well as another 0.1-0.2 earlier in the lap, so I'll try the rest of the week to get that 0.3-0.4 back. That should put me past the second barrier I'm looking to hit, we'll see.

P.S. - Key is braking WAY EARLY (well maybe not that early ;))

Slightly improved my total final time, but splits are worse in both laps.
Now I am about 0.2 away from my first goal (and 0.8 away from that awesome run I had last night and that was barely dirty in one spot :indiff: )

Putting together my best splits and lap times, I am more than a second away from where I could and would like to be...

It's a good thing a long weekend is fixing to come up, I will reach my goal by then.

I just bought a new bike and now I'm scared to go out on it vtec...seriously though, hope you recover quickly. On a similar note if ya'll haven't seen this, you should go and say a quick prayer for Kent.

Well I think I've now earnt somewhere in the vicinity of $20,000 from all my family cups but my new splits are nothing outstanding:

Lap 1 - T1: 0'34.183 (Goal: 0'33.7xx)
Lap 2 - T1: 0'27.054 (Goal: 0'26.9xx)

I'm using R5 on the front and R4 on the back...I wish I could use R5 on the back but I'm not smooth enough yet to conserve the tyres for two laps, at least with R4 on the back I can drive like a mad man and still have enough tread for that last damn corner! My goal is to knock another second off my race time, if I do that early I'll experiment with R5's on the rear.

Oh...and by the way veilsidebr, I noticed in your sig you did a 4'44.650 around the 'ring...nice lap, shame I did a 4'44.649 in the Subaru 360...you'll have to keep trying I'm afraid J/K  I got 1.001:1 on veilsidebr to win this week

Thanks guys for the well wishes,
I hadn't read that thread about Kent until MisterWeary posted the link, I hope he's ok.
BTW MisterWeary just get a helmet like mine if you're doing cross country riding or something but if you have any intention on doing jumps get a full face helmet. I cant guarantee that it wont give you a neck injury in a situation like mine but at least you will still be able to pull for the 2 months after lol.

And Kenny, if you know how to find a girl when you look like this, I could really do with your advice lol.

so good of a combo and i still don´t have splits to show... i get home from work, and then when i´m finally free, i turn the PS2 on... and...

i don´t play 👎

damn messenger, i log in just to see who is out there, but i keep spending lots of time in that thing...

but tonight i promess to get some laps... expectations are very high this week... :dopey:

lets see...
@ vtec_guy... and i always thought motorcycles were dangerous... but that kind of a hit with a bike.... ouch!

hope you get better...

well running the el captain enduro again! i think my minolta is very very worned out! cant even get 1200 hp out of it! gonna see if this improve my times! :dopey:

ahhhhh... Just had my first bath since the accident. I feel so much better now. Although my neck still hurts quite a lot, it's bearable. I've seen a lot on the news about the storm over there in the US, I hope Kent is alright...

Watch out,Watch out!
I have just been attacked by hackers using the RASmin trojan..... 24 times in the last 2 hrs!!
EDIT Make that 37 times since 9pm (it's 11.16pm now)
Was attacked 8 times by the time i managed to launch my browser after connecting my BB!
Thankfully none have got through!

Keep your AV updated and Firewalls up people!

And Kenny, if you know how to find a girl when you look like this, I could really do with your advice lol.

Well, I told all the girls I knew about my motorcycle incident where I grafted skin off my leg - so use it as a battle scar. Wear it proudly.

That's it. I finally inserted the GT4 disc again in my PS2 to burn some rubber.

Last week's race triggered something. A french car, a french track, but no french driver. I ran 2 laps, considered the gap with the posted times and decided that keeping my mouth shut and submitting nothing would be the wisest solution.

Instead, I re-designed the leaderboard in a way that will save a lot of (my) time in the future. I saw that my name never appears on the board, since I submitted only twice (weeks 1 and 2) and was each time ranked last in div 2. :grumpy:
So I ran the Enduro to win the Minolta (I ran 5 Enduros actually) and practice a little bit (6 races).

I must admit that I like the combo, and especially the flat-out ( ;) ) first left-hander.
Best race so far : 34.504 / 28.037 and I expect to shave 1 or 2 seconds off on the total race time.

/\ Nice job you did too matie!

Glad to see you back!

At least i can count on beating someone! J/K :) ;)

Haven't ran today, been too busy with work and beating the hacker SCUM that inhabit the web!

BLAH!

Your bruises look all superficial, nothing will be left within a couple of months.
A colleague of mine had a bike accident last summer. He was jumping from the street to the sidewalk at a relative high speed when the front wheel went loose : the only thing he could do was to crash on the concrete slab.
He stayed in the coma for 2 weeks, but now, one year later, he has no scar, no remaining pain or whatever. And he was looking really bad.

Thanks for the welcome Neil.
And yes, chances are that you'll beat me. I've never been neither fast nor consistent so it'll take ages before I'm a threat to you. But I'd be happy to kick your british @$$ on the track if I can, as a revenge for Azincourt* (J/K ;) )

Ok, that's 100% off topic. Plus it's almost 2am, so I'd better go to better instead of spamming the forum, or people will regret that I'm back before I even get a chance to submit.

I never thought I'd see such historical tidbits here at GTPlanet (unless they're from Famine). :)

Check out Henry V by Shakepeare for the English opinion.

Also, sorry for spamming the thread. I love my history. :sly:

Can we throw Waterloo in there, too? ;)
