Thank god it hasn't been crashing my pc, run the ps2 through it too.

Makes sense,
got a nice leather reclining office chair, corner desk with the wheel clamped to it, peddles in the foot well, and a lovely 17" lcd monitor only about 3 foot away (on a plinth)
Keyboard and mouse on a sliding shelf just below the wheel-clamps.
5.1 sound

And most importantly a Stella fridge within arm's reach too! :sly:

I can surf and play at the same time, without tying up a tv

Neil

Ahhhh.....the good life. :)

I've got a similar setup, but in my cellar so I can firmly clamp a Cohiba or ciggie 'tween my teeth (only place in the house I can smoke) and while away an hour or two of laps. 👍

I sprung for a 21" flat screen last winter, and hooked the satellite dish into it as well as the PS2, which makes the whole experience "immersive". Next project will be setting up a local network at home and getting a computer linked up with the PS2 and the flat screen. My own little kingdom! :D

Sorry for the spam guys! :)

First 'decent' ish run...

T1: 17.590
T2: 32.747
L1: 56.735

T1: 12.043
T2: 27.212

T1: 11.955
T2: 27.524

I'm really struggling with the corner just before bridge though, is it possible to do flat?

Was crashing my browser today too, consistently. It actually just did it again as I was typing this. It seems to be fine until I scroll down to where the page displays the picture of the week and then it crashes.

If I'm fast and the page loads up and I'm able to scroll immediately down below the picture it works fine (as I've done right now.)

This happened a couple of weeks ago too (the week of the Minolta race) but when I got home and used my Firefox browser instead of the IE I have at work, it worked just fine.

Well, I think I have the leaderboard updated correctly ... not done one before with multiple laps, but I followed the pattern from previous weeks and it looks okay ... let me know if I've screwed something up.

http://www.luxy.ca/wrs/leaderboard/24

EDIT: There appears to be a bug in Luxy's parsing routine that 'loses' the controller information on multiple lap races - all previous weeks have been the same. I'm going to write to him about that.

Yup. I think ur right Androos. Except that my browser is crashing as soon as I go to the first page. It's probably locked right over the pic.

And I STILL don't know what the combo is this week. :grumpy:

Hello everyone, welcome to week 24 of the GT4 WRS! It's 3 lap race this week at Tsukuba with a great handling Subaru, I've tested the combo and it seems like great fun!:) I used an AI difficulty at -10 and entered with Super Hard tires, then switched to Softs once in the race. Using this setup I was able to pass the AI three times in a row by T1 without contact, so hopefully this will not be a problem for anyone to find a similarly easy AI grid.

I'd also like to confirm that in IE (I used Firefox), there is something going on at the top of the first page that is causing the IE browser to crash. I'm wondering if it's related to the ad?

Thinking out loud, I wonder if the problem is related to this?

To assist in any debugging that may (or may not) take place:
Opera, Firefox and Netscape do *NOT* crash.
Being logged in or not does not make a difference.
Turning off JavaScript in IE still caused the crash.
Cookies enabled or disabled in IE made no difference.

All you IE users need to get with the program ... go google "firefox" and brief a breath of fresh air into your lives.

Well spotted, hun!

Smart-ass! ;)

I use Maxthon MYIE2, only causes the page to freeze. No browser crashes.

Tried Firefox a while ago, and was not keen. Has it improved?

Sorry, off-topic, i know!

I'm really struggling with the corner just before bridge though, is it possible to do flat?

I cant say ive tried, but id guess not as im just on the track after tapping brakes and cant seem to find a better line in.

Or if your very very slow coming out the corner then mayb...

Wow. I'm impressed. But I know nothing about programming. I'm now home using Firefox and am able to view the page without a problem. I bet it's something to do with the ad and the fact that my crappy 6-years-behind-the-times lowest-bidder Windows 98 government work computer doesn't support most plugins. Never had it crash like this though.

Oh well, next week it's getting replaced with a brand new 4-years-behind-the-times PC. Still running Windows 2000. Gotta love it. Although I think they're letting us keep our groovy retro black-and-green color monitors. My monitor even has this funny rainbow colored logo on the side that's shaped like an apple that someone took a bite out of. Weird! :P

Initial splits:

T1: 17.444
T2: 32.883
L1: 56.759
T1: 12.158
T2: 27.421
T1: 11.874
T2: 27.164

I know where I'm losing it between T1 and T2 (the right hander after the 2nd hairpin) so I have to get brave and take the corner like I know I can. So far I am loving this combo (mainly because I feel fast even though the ringers haven't gone yet) so I may end up hating this combo like I hated last week. At least this time I know and enjoy the track.

New splits from me!

Loving this, the only hard parts are the first corner 'threading the needle' manouver, going outside the 4th and 3rd guys and switching to the inside for 2nd place man!
I go right of 5th,left of 4th(before the corner) and 3rd(when he goes for the apex of the corner), right of 2nd(on the exit of the corner) and then storm past 1st place WELL before the second corner/kink. SWEET!

And,

the right under the bridge, which i give a slight dab of trail-brake(which i haven't quite got the hang of yet) on the first lap (with cool fronts), and then just lift for on laps 2 &3!

Otherwise i love this track now, hated it when doing licences etc!

Anyway!

L1
T1 17.439
T2 32.603

L2
T1 12.178
T2 27.388

L3
T1 12.456
T2 27.448

With a first lap of 56.744

Had a few runs until I got a clean save and this is a great little race .... The tyre wear makes not much difference at all! ..... here's my first sectors :)

L1 - (55.202)
T1 - 16.820
T2 - 31.750
......................
L2
T1 - 11.760
T2 - 26.326
......................
L3
T1 - 11.762
T2 - 26.388

I will get back on this as soon as I see some sectors from the usual suspects ;)

IE was crashing for me all the time 👎

I think it was an add?

Someone needs to tell Jordan what the problem was.

And it seems the leaderboard doenst like final times for lap 1 only?

You did great Koly 👍

Some pretty awful splits, but this is quite fun!

T1 - 17.163
T2 - 32.259
(55.876)

T1 - 12.252
T2 - 27.399

T1 - 11.940
T2 - 27.121

Yet, another fun race. I haven't been around Tsukuba since the license tests, even after almost 40 WRS's at two different boards. The depth of this game never ceases to amaze me!

EDIT-> My IE locked also.

More splits:

T1: 17.284
T2: 32.596
L1: 56.232
T1: 11.806
T2: 26.873
T1: 11.848
T2: 26.938

I'm loving this car and always loved the track.

Funny thing though - sometimes my car has a redline that starts around 5500 and sometimes it's just blank. Weird. Doesn't really matter though. Just an observation.

@ Kolyana : Thanks for quoting the rules/specs for this week again, as I had same problems as Androos, balls, etc....

I was already wondering why I was quite fast and up to their times....no wonder, with no tire wear activated......oh boy....end up cleaning those podiums again.... :ouch: :scared:

:sly: WOW looking at the times, i just went and got my good run in tonight :)

t1- 17.420
t2- 32.415

T1 11.855
T2 26.487
T1 11.791
T2 26.531

Already ran my personal best Lap2 and 3 in this run, can't quite figure out T1 of Lap1.
Too much random on it, I go to the right side of the 4th place car and he does a sharp right turn smacking into me or if I goto the left he does a very wide slow turn and smacks me off into the grass.

I tried doing difficulty +10 to draft but it seems the first corner is even slower, then after that the cars get aggressive and try and slam into me on the sides when I try to pass.
