after 2 laps. T1: 10.903 T2: 40.065(mishap at the chicane and the left turn after the long right hander). I am running decent times, but I assume Veilside will be in the 1.10s, jerk.

Am running one of my less-favorite coloured car's to practice in, and sort a setup out.

That way i won't ruin the engine of the black one i will run later in the week!

I know it's a little anal but..........

:)

two more laps. T1: 0:10.939 T2:0.39.791. I'm in the 1.11's still with dirty laps, so Veilside is probaby in the 1.08's now, jerk.

Wow, this car laps up the kilometers like no other. A short try out turned into a 180 km run.

Its a fun drive, but I don't have that much control over my laps, though. Feels like the crashes are random, I'm not used to these speeds. Plus: I hadn't been out in an F1 car for ages, since I mostly enjoy racing in the 200 - 450 Hp range.

My best sector times in the family cup (with room for improvement):

T1: 10,757
T2: 41,528

@Balls ... you actually have a good point :worried: with no oil changes permitted, I could easily screw up my only Formula GT :ill:

Tire wear??? :indiff:

EDIT
Wait forget that question... See what happens when u dont sleep.... for sooo long.. and with a head full of stimulants :yuck:

You needn't worry about the engine wear. One of my F1 cars (used for endurances when I just want to send my B Spec driver out to get some dosh) has ~10,000 miles on it and is still at the original power output.

But a lack of an oil change drops your HP around 200 miles, right?

In most cars, but not in the F1. I'm not sure why PD decided to make an exception for the F1 car, but you can't change the oil in it. Don't worry about it though :)

What I do is run the car, and if I change some settings I'll write them down, but I'll never save my game. If I get a good lap, I'll save the lap only. So my odometer never racks up the miles, and my cars are all pretty much brand new... except the ones I like to use in SIM mode for the races.

Ok mate, you are right,

you can't change the oil in the F1 cars, seems strange, but would make it more realistic in the endurances.

I personally thought that it was/is disgustingly stupid/unrealistic that PD wouldn't let you change the oil in a series.

What team would NEVER change the oil between races?

On a side-note the heavens have just opened big-style and the satelite tv don't work, (good job stargate has just finished), also lost power for a short time about an hour ago and lost both my laptimes and settings.

So

Jumping into the black car, which of course will be faster just because it's black, and starting from scratch again with the setup.

WOOT WOOT!! smashing into walls is fun.. i tell ya.... clean laps are gonna come hard by... let alone 2 in a ROW!!!

Nice to see Kent around the place.
:irked:👍
Good work CFM

What's that supposed to mean?
(Is that sarcasm I detect?)

Anyway, ...
Just ran a few laps (about 30 miles in all).
39.7?? was the lowest I hit.
With work and a good setup I should be able to get under 39.000.

Good luck with the racing everyone.
Later. :D

/\ Wut He Said. Works out great! Unless u lose your settings.... :scared:

Just tried some laps in family cup, and with cold tires the F1 is :yuck: So the first lap is much slower than it could be. Still using no assists, figured out a way to launch that seems good enough for now.

16.9 // 46.9
10.9 // 40.1

ok, after taking the aids off and about 20 laps of testing, my sector times are as follows.

T1: 10.900
T2: 38.906

I don't know how I managed that. I didn't realize aids made that much of a difference. I am running the stock setup and all I did was take the aids off and I cut 2 whole seconds off my time. wow. if anyone has any setup that work well on the F1 car, please PM them to me. I know I can get into the ------ with the stock settings. after that, it will take some tuning which I can't do very well. after doing my laps, I realized Veilside and all those top Div 1 drivers are probably closer to ---- since I'm usually about 2-3 seconds slower then them, jerks.

from what i understand the f1 is indestructable.

If i remember correctly: in every other car you can.
when you "exit" (not the forfeit button) in a series, you get the option to save your progress... then back at the menu, one of the few places you can go is gtauto to do an oil change.

hasn't been an option in any other GT game, but i think you can do mid-series oil changes in this one.

Yo 260 (I have a '74 myself that I plan on putting an SR20DET into),

What times are you posting? Hotlap practice times?

Also, are we posting final first lap times like in previous multilap races or not?

Finally, I still haven't seen if we're supposed to be running with tire wear or not... Help anyone??

-SHig

My T times so far:

T1: 17.126
T2: 47.354

T1: 11.053
T2: 39.953

@Koly....I'm back in the AMC this week too. I will get you my splits later tonight!!! Sorry about the weeks I've missed.

I don't think we have the choice to remove tire wear. It's there for me.

New splits:

T1: 16.936
T2: 47.199

T1: 10.644
T2: 39.858

My tire wear is on....I don't have an option. This is a fun race, I love the track and the car!!!

I already quit....lol

I am gonna pick it up later this week and just run the race like 4 times, take my time and not hit anything, just turn in a sad time....

I hate the FGT! I already said that :)

Sorry to have edited out those final lap times but I was around to take care of it and had no clue when the member would be able to edit them out for himself/herself.

Anyway, some amazing times.
Makes me feel like D3 is the place for me without a doubt.
Doesn't matter though.

Well good luck everyone,
I may be around this week so be on the look-out... You all know how bad things can get when I'm here. :mischievous:

(I still have a clear memory of my last experience here :yuck:  :irked: :indiff: )

i'll post times if i get the f1 car in time, i am busy but i will try, damn you jumpputt if i can't race this week :)

Board updated.

Not a problem Honey ... the AMC is meant to be an easy series ... come in and have fun when time and life permits ... I'm breathing down no ones neck to see them put in times every week ;)

Thanks for the comments and I look forward to seeing you on the narrow streets of Citta di Aria 👍
