Is it me or can you multiply average lap by 7 or 6 + 1st lap time to get total time? I think that basically amounts to discussing final times, no?

Or maybe not...

BTW, I'm having a hard time getting up to speed on this one. Add to that I spend an entire session setting up and practicing on Seoul FORWARD! Argh...

Well I wouldn't think its like saying the final times. Here's why IMO of course. Lets say were doing a hotlap, and I have my splits posted as per usual, if I want to know about how much Curtis is beating me by I can estimate how long its taking me to go from the last T sector to finish and subtract a few tenths from his sector time and so far Ive been pretty darned close to what he gets typically. Same 'could' be applied here this week but it seems to be harder to do as we have tire wear and are doing multiple laps and my 'estimate' would be at least a few seconds off. I can't wait to try out those settings Kart, thx mate! And I agree with Francisco about not know which to use, 20 or 70....time will tell on that one. Had an 'IT Dept. Emergency' last night so I had to work late :yuck:  But I have some time for my wrc and wrs tonight tho1 👍 👍

As long as the average is a rough estimation, that's OK.
Accurate figures are equivalent to mentioning the race time (forbidden). But who takes care to work out an accurate average lap from 6 figures ?

OK, OK.

It's a fair cop!

My bad guys, sorry. :guilty:

Have just done the reverse math, and my previous post was to within 0.005 sec of my actual time! (but thankfully it's not my present time)

Damn my consistancy! :sly:

Will edit my previous AND only do approximations from now on!

@NAT

Would the sarcastic person who pointed out the someone forgot to change the venue, please note that this weeks race is in-fact over 7 laps not 2! :sly: ;)

J/K Really!

You'd be surprised...

Actually Honey, that's the Luxy code that handles that bit - it's automatically calculated from the number of entries I make into the XML, so if we record 2 laps in the XML (first, fastest), it assumes that it's a 2 lap race and it can't be overidden.

In that case , forgive me hon?

Anyway was only kidding.

Snow Day 👍

Had I little time to kill so checked in on the WRS for the 1st time in months. This combo looked to good to pass up. IMO the Nismo 400R is the best looking Skyline in the game. Not only that but we get NOS and on-track competition too.

I didn't have any trouble with the AI. I started in front of them and just stayed there. I entered the Championship and forfeited the first 3 events and then qualified the car on the pole. I don't think I missed anything in the rules or thread about doing that. Is it legal? I can't believe nobody questioned this before. Maybe I overlooked some detail somewhere?

I ran the whole Championship once just for fun. Probably didn't have a single clean lap but won the Championship (78 points). Came back and ran Seoul race twice.

1st Lap: 58.659
Best Lap: 56.478

Is that allowed Cyril? The qualifying portion, I need to know b/c thats one hell of an idea! Nice work Ron!

:scared:  Uh oh, there goes my good fast time. Need an answer on that ASAP, getting an easy 3 seconds taken off the start lap is just AWSOME. Never saw that one coming :dunce:

great catch, but i think the intent of this combo was to put us against the AI, so we need a clarification from flat-out...

and i had a good time... back to work...

I"m gonna hold off on tryin your settings Scott until I hear about this whole thing; 💡 I'll let u know sometime in the next day or 2 depending.

Jerome

Personally, I don't think that is in the spirit of the race, not nesc the rules but strongly leaning that way!

Flat-out was the first to post 'clean' splits I think, and it is obvious that he started it from the back of the pack!

Spirit of the race, my friends!

Anyway,

Times from me,

first lap
1'01.869 Got held up at 2nd corner and final hairpin, but not too badly.

best lap
54.324 (I have seen 52's in other races but didn't save the replay b/c it was slower than i knew i could go tonite)

I didn't really get into the rythmn of the car till 4th lap and didn't have much NOS left, so went for consistancy rather than a one off all out ball-breaker of a fast lap.

Succeeded in taking over 6 seconds off overall. :)

And? Has anyone else lapped any of the the AI?

I got a lovely slipstream off the 6th place car till overtaking him just before the line

Neil

To tell you the truth I thought about this little loophole myself but figured it'd go against the spirit of the rules. Sure, it wasn't specifically forbidden, but I'm sure it wasn't the intent of the event.

If it IS okay, now we're going to have to do one lap to get the pole then seven more. Not too bad a tradeoff for 5 free seconds or whatever it works out to be...

Jerome, you ought to try the settings anyway to see if you can stay straight!

kart, good thinking using ASM understeer to preserve the front tires. I know I don't have the discipline to keep R4s from dying in 7 laps. As is my R3 front tire is close to cooked after all is said and done.

-SHig

I'm running soft fronts, R4's yes?

And qualifiers on the rear, R5's?

Only the front left gets a little rosie, a lot closer to yellow/orange than red/orange.

I know you guys are probably running faster than i am, :boggled: but all of the others are pure yellow till the final corner and are only going orange on the exit.

And no aids at all in use!

well the AI still comes into it coz you can lap them easily now, but coz you are passing them on the last couple of laps, when your tyres are just about rooted, it makes it a little more difficult to make the last couple of laps quick...

by starting at the front i am 4-5 seconds ahead of where i normally would be, i am 4 seconds faster just in T1 of the first lap... i think it is fair game, but we shall have to see what flat-out says...

I just got what I thought was a quick lap (but really slow compared to what others are posting). At 2 points on the track a car comes up from behind and gets really close. My car never moves as if it was hit, and I took some photos of when it was closest to me (don't have a max drive or usb to post them yet, asked for those for Chrismas). There was always some space between us so I am assuming it is clean, but I also notice that when you hit something when in the "in car" view you don't actually see anything contact what you run into. Am I making sense? Is there anyone in LA/OC California just in case I need this verified?

Here are my the times from my best race so far:
1st 1:04.955
best 56.537

front left tire orange and the last bit of NOS is used just before the finish line.

I just took my trusty Fiat Panda out and rammed a bunch-o-cars. You can definately see contact when you go frame by frame in this replay. Since there is always a bit of space in the replay of my race I am going to say it's clean. :)

first, responding to neil, yes, i´m lapping the AI if they put those stupidly slow cars in the pack, like the toyota RSC rally car

judging by the number of posts (usually a good measure) we will have 20 submitions at best, that means... everybody will be fighting for a podium...

as for me, what a 🤬

just found out that i will be packing and moving from today to wednesday, so my last night splits are likely to be the last ones...

first lap - 1´01´210
best lap - 53´409

good for now i think, but might be slow on tuesday, since guys will figure, strategy and stuff... anyway, it was fun for me, i doubt i get an extra session on this...

also, lap times are pretty even until lap 7, but then this last lap is 2 seconds slower than the others... is that happening to others?

That's totally against the spirit of the rules, since it immediately shorten your race time by at least 5 or 6 seconds.
I had considered this option before I posted the race, but I thought that mentioning .../ Dream Car Championship / Seoul Central... would be enough for people to understand that we have to run it as a single race and not as part of the championship. Or else I would have posted something like .../ Dream Car Championship / Championship /...

Now that I re-read the first post, I see it was probably only obvious to me, sorry.
So, nope, you have to start 6th.

@goixoye : I already received a submission from you, but if it was done in this way you can practice again and submit again later.

Not really, if we are all honest, the post is fairly clear, and obviously refers to a single race taken from the championship, not a race within the championship.

Occasionally the competative natures of some people take over, and they try to take ANY advantage/shortcut they can to get a fast time.
Un-fair to all the other's who stick to the spirit of the rules/race.

But hey, we are all human (well, apart from H&H anyway), and to err is human.

👍 👍 Cool.
Had a few more runs last night, ran the lowest first lap i've seen so far 1'00.9xx then went and clipped the edge of the wall in turn one, bounced off then slammed the outside wall head on :ouch: :yuck:

Yup!

Bin there, done that! Ad nausium!

Even half a tenth of a second too late on the brakes into that first corner......and it's wall city! :banghead:

Has anyone else noticed the spread of A-spec point available for this race?
I spent about an hour last night just trying to find a good line up, and saw anything from 5 to 38 points depending on which cars you are given.

I personally think that 7-10 point races lead to the faster times so far. Anything less and you get 2 and 3 car bottlenecks in either the 2nd corner (into the narrows) at, or in the middle of the esses, and then sometimes i've had the front two cars fighting it out into the final hairpin and completely blocking any way round it.

I was looking at the loading screen more than i was racing!

Neil

Did my first 100% percent clean run today.

I also changed my ASM U to 3 in order to maintain the pace on the last lap (which I managed to do).

My best 1st lap so far is a 59.1 but I have never repeated it again sadly.

Over and out. I wont be here for the next few days coz I have to do some stunt driving from tomoz till monday.
