GT4 WRS Week 4: "Mid-engine Multi-Lap Mayhem"

It'll be a few hours before I can go home and try this one out, but maybe someone can answer this completely unimportant question: When you set up a race like this, is it predetermined how many opposing cars there are and what determines there type? I mean, will it be a track of Lotus's (not from the picture, it seems), or is the opposition randomly determined. If the latter, does it seem to be fairly well balanced, or is there a chance that someone is going to get an easier field than someone else?

if the difficuilty is -10 im sure its not gonna be an issue at all.

on -10 difficulty I'm guessing that you can pass nearly all the cars in the first or second turns and then never see them again.

I think the difficulty should be set to MAX. then we could see who can really drive, not just spend hrs and hrs on one lap.

I'm getting these cars on thr grid: (NTSC/CHN)

Nissan Skyline Hard Top 2000GT-R
Alfa Romeo 166 2.5 V6 24V
Honda Civic SiR-II (EG)
Toyota 2000GT
Lotus Elan S1
....and of course, the Lotus Esprit Sport 350.

I was able to pass all of the cars before T1 of the first lap without any contact on every test run I did. All of the contact would occur within the first 20 seconds or so, so it will be easy to restart in case of a brush with the AI. That's how I wanted it for this week. I'd like to setup a race where the AI plays a bigger role, but the AI progamming is a complete joke. They'd be knocking you off course, slamming you into walls, cutting into your lines, ramming you from behind, etc. What a shame PD can't get their act together on this feature.👎

Vehicle weight may not be verifiable at this time, but you can guarantee there's some of us saving replays up for the occasion when a GT3gEdit-like programme is available and these things MAY be checked...

:yuck: No one would get a clean lap! It'd be impossible to avoid contact with PD's flawed AI. :scared:

Ahh haa...

The first thing I got back home was to give this a try. (I have no priorities  )

It takes a couple laps to get used to going from AWD in Week 3 back to RWD. I spunned out 2,000 times braking for the left turn before the second tunnel.

OK, here's my humble time. Can't wait to see what kind of benchmark the D1 guys will set... :)

Lap 1:

T1: 0.31.083
T2: 1:01.718

Lap 2:

T1: 24.349
T2: 55.016 (Dirty 👎 )

Lap 3:

T1: 24.652
T2: 55.276

I haven’t even done the race yet, lol. I just did a few laps and i am seeing 24.1s for t1 and 54.2s for t2, hopefully i can achieve these times in the actual race.

i just switched over from using the DS2 to my GT force pro and i am liking it and i am not going back to using the DS2. However i am slower than with the DS2, for now. I built i quick little set up, i have a nice IS300 leather seat but i haven't gotten around to making a set up for that yet. Instead i just used the couch in my basement. I will be getting a big screen fairly room and so the 32'' TV that’s in my living room will come down to the basement to make space for the new TV. But for now i will stick to my trusted old Sony :sly: .

Here are a couple of picks of my set up, it is not much but so far it has gotten the job done.

And just for kicks, here is my car before it was stolen:

i just recently got it back after it was gone for 2 months. lol, danm hondas.

👍 CFM for doing something different...... This is like a double quarter pounder meal deal, SUPERSIZED!!!!!!

Good luck everyone....

Just incase you didnt know, experiment with the field to find cars that hinder you as little as possible. Just exit and re entry and you have different cars. Find the ones that best suit you so you dont go out of your way to pass

I don't know about you, but the third place car is really slowing me down threw the first turn cause usually i take it at around 110 and i find myself going down to about 100 so that i can pass him on the inside after we exit the turn. Thus far my best t1 on the first lap is 30.7. And i am realy starting to like this wheel :dopey: .

HA! I just took the Espirit for a spin on this one and was mentally comparing my FINAL time with the T2's above ... of course, I was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay off the pace and I came in this thread to ask if I had the wrong car or track.

Then I realized that I was comparing all the wrong things.

My head is full of fluff.

another tip, enter the race with S3 tires and change them to S1 in quick tune (where you change the wieght) this way the AI has S3 tires and the 3rd place car can thus go through the 1st turn quicker!.

I don't understand the logic on this one ... we're meant to be racing on hard tires, yes?

Maybe I don't understand the relationship between S types.

I'm gonna give this a try tommorow. :D I like these kind of races. 1 hot lap race's are ok but 3 fast laps in a row is more challenging and fun to do 👍

What Small_Fryz is saying is that you can put the AI cars on softs (S3) so they don't get in your way so much in the early corners.

I think.... :dopey:

My 1st clean race!!

31.243 / 24.497 / 24.687
1'01.538 / 54.851 / 55.041

Very slow!! but its a clean race so its a start

correct!

N tires slow them down way too much iceman.

putting them on S3 (softs) makes them quicker and thus easier to pass, as you dont close up so fast on 3rd place in the 1st corner, IMHO anyway
