new splits for me, but before you guys think its good, the end was atrocious (i think that´s the word)

T1 - 15´802
T2 - 52´144

finish - stupid:tdown: lost 0´5 or more there, so i only improved 0´3 from my previous lap... running out of time, have a big job interview monday, so i don´t know if i can run this combo again...

didn´t get the second barrier holl beat, so my finish was really crappy... but this combo is so good i might have to find an extra time to finish my lap without 2´s in the end;)

yes, the first turn takes almost 50% of my playing time too, and you can almost take it with a straight line... best T1 i´ve seen was 15´586:crazy: but only once... seen my share of 52´0 but no finish so far...

all i know is that i never been so close like this week... if it wasn´t for the job interview, i would spend the whole weekend playing... life isn´t fair:tdown:

wow, amazing splits 👍

what do you guys do befor T1?

i´ve only seen 15,997 once, the rest was over 16,000

got a good lap now, even without breaking the barrier :nervous:

i have ruined sooo many 52,5xx at T2, perhaps a dozen times :ouch:

got 933km now...

edit: forgot the splits *lool*

00:16,335
00:52,733

drove with TKS 0 and SSD 5 / 15 / 10

the thing about the T1 is that sometimes a good T1 can sacrifice the very next corner, so its not always a good thing... the crucial part, of course, is the first corner... try to get the best straight line... and braking early... on that 15´586 split i remember i almost hit that turn flat out, but to do that it takes something like 20 restarts... and a lot of luck...

Damn it!

Just spent 30 mins trying to beat my fastest lap, and getting really close. Started getting frustrated and thinking that I had changed something.

Went into the tuning screen only to find the power down to 692Hp!

This car EATS oil changes!

Only done about 100 miles since last oil-change!

Heads up guys and gals! Oil changes a plenty!

yes, same thing to me last night... i was driving and suddenly i couldn´t reach my initial splits... went to check the tuning screen, and got the same 692 HP... so far i have 3 oil changes and a refresh...

KLR142
.. snip ..

Fastest lap yet, and clean:
T1: 16.218(could be my fastest ever)
T2: 53.406
T3: almost .7ish faster than before(Nat...)

PS. Forgot to mention that I played with settings tonight...

8.7/9.1
71/74(raised to allow more movement with the lowered stabilizers)
2/3(front lowered to be easier/smoother, more absorbent on the curbs)
5/5
2.6/1.1(i think that's what it is still)
0/0(just because, I can't tell what the crap it's doing, but I know that 0/0 works)
2/2(to allow the suspension to work better independantly, making it more stable over the curbs)

Auto 9 gearing, 5/5/5 diff, 2/2 BB, full downforce...

Yes, I see you getting faster, you slick little bugger!

Thanks for posting your setup ... anyone who posts one of these or a drivethrough gets a reputation point from me 👍

I can see that my biggest weakness is the t1-t2 section; not clipping those corners enough and getting on the gas as early as I could, or something. I need to put in a T2 split that honors my decent T1.

Board updated.

I finally started to race this today. :dopey:

Fun stuff and interesting for those of us trying to work on learning about setting up cars suspensions.

Ran to under 54.0 but not by much (didn't catch the exact numbers).
I'm also pretty sure it's not a clean lap. :(

Suprisingly though, I feel like there is a good second in there for me to grab (suprising for me since I didn't expect within 5 seconds of the "fast" racers).
with luck I may be able to break under 53, but for now my goal is to get 53 on a clean lap. :banghead:

That's gonna be hard to do since I'm not exactly a seattle racer. :ouch:
I'm still going to try though. 👍

Hopefully by the end of the week I will be able to get something clean... When I do a setup and T time set will be posted. :)
Until then,
-Kent

(btw, great work everyone
Some really fast times being mentioned and posting setups is always a great way to spread the speed around for everyone). :D

don´t know if you guys think i´m quiet, (because i rarely post settings) but my setups are always the opposite of everybody else... in many cases, the less i change, better... the thing i liked this week was no TCS, but looks like its only me and MADFORCE going this way... we might be losing a lot in the end, because the last turn is very hard without TCS... but i don´t know... also changed the gear set to 9, but that setting i think everybody is using... 8 is too short and 10 is too long, so... anyway, other than what steve, kyle and dan already said, i have nothing new to add...

even with the busy life, i hope to get at least one more go... if i find something cool, i´ll let you guys know:tup:

Only a few hours in so far... Frastrating thing is that I noticed that I hadn't done the oil change!!! Grrr... At least there should be easy time to be made.

So far T2 is 53.573.

Awesome splits Francisco!

BTW, I'm running no TCS/ASM as well.

Hello everybody :) !!!
I started to race today and here my splits:

T1: 15.673
T2: 51.717 (ain't no typo 👍 !!)

I had a very good start but I lost half a second in the last sector :ouch:
I don't think I will be able to repeat those splits though I know I can improve my lap.

Here are my settings:

Suspensions:
6.0/4.0
90/105
1/1
1/1
0.8/0.8
0/0
1/1

Brakes:
3/3

Driving aids :

Gearbox:
auto = 9

Downforce:

LSD:
5/5/5

OK, now I'm finally into this. First time, first week. After about 150 miles of practice and following everyone's advice here I'm comfortable posting my first split times. (running in D3, using DS2)

Best clean lap so far:

T1: 17.075
T2: 55.342

By the time I watched the replay a few times I saw quite a few errors in my lap, so I hope I can improve this before the weekend is over.

Need some advice on the railway tracks. I seem to have problems on laps randomly whether I lift off the throttle or not. Sometimes I can keep my line without a problem, but I can't find a pattern that works reliably. Any help would be much appreciated.

cant wait to try your settings finally Zik,

but first i gotta try and get closer to your Gtplay time... argh...

   Killer lap man! I'll have to give your settings a try later. Top Notch performance man!

@holz, typically for the tracks I brake just before I reach them and go half throttle or so while over them and try not to accelerate until the car balances out a little, then I crack the wheel sharply to the left and PRAY TO GOD THAT IT WORKS...lol. Its a little inconsistent for me as well, but just try not to over accelerate ON the tracks and it should be fine.

Now that is the weirdest, wildest, supersoft setup I have ever seen!

It shouldn't work! But obviously it does!

With those damper settings it 'should' be like a bouncy castle to drive.
With those settings (no camber to speak of, and soft springs/dampers/roll-bars) it 'should' corner like a shopping trolley as the wheels switch to positive camber as the suspension compresses in the corners.

But obviously it doesn't do those things!

Unbelievable!

Anyway!

New splits of

T1 16.946 (still slow, but through the 1st chicane every time)
T2 53.960 (pity that the T-point is right in the middle of the braking zone, STUPID PD)

And Half-way to the goal Nat, less than .5 to go!

Oh! and still using Holl's settings, but with NO TCS and diff set to 25/45/10
With very little wheel-spin

Neil

Damn. This wasn't good. I'm so behind you guys. I hate the reverse version.
And do I have to have 2 wheels when you come to the jumps as well? :scared:

I quit from this weeks WRS. It sucks and it's frustarting as hell. I don't like the combo either.
Better luck next week 👍

The 2 wheels rule obviously doesn't apply stricto sensu when the car is airborne. In that case, it is the projection of the wheels on the road that matters, so that it is still forbidden to jump over a corner.

I wouldn't say those settings are too odd.

The bound and rebound seem low but considering the train tracks and rumblies this week, the 1/1 & 1/1 may actually work really well.

Also, with the even camber at low levels he may be getting better turning than most of the people here.

Low camber means that for most of the lap he is actually getting more contact with the road than everyone else who's running high camber.

I mean, this track isn't exactly full of long bends to use high camber so I would have to say that low camber is in fact the way to go this week. 👍

Plus, I've gotta give it up to zikwik... Not only is he flying through the lap but he is also using a setup that most people will never try because they are stuck thinking like everyone else.

Low camber and low absorbers... 👍 👍
(especially low camber)

On a track like this you don't even get the chance to use the amount of camber people are setting in their suspensions.
Now if this was High Speed Ring I wouldn't feel that way but the flat, non-banked, sharp and short turns of Seattle just don't call for high camber.

Yeah, I see where you are coming from, but with the bumpy nature of this track taken into account...........It should be bouncing round like ALL the cars in 70's/80's American films like Bullitt................Oohh!

Silly me! :sly:

Good lord, how do you do those times??? You've just slaughtered everyone else's time!!

But, that said, I just tried your settings for about 15 laps and shaved nearly a second off my time. Not bad, looks like an ultra soft set-up helps on this track.

Here's my new splits:

T1: 16.795
T2: 54.704

I think my main objective for this, being my first challenge, will be to turn the 54 into a 53 in T2. I'll be happy with that.

Well here I am....bringing up the rear....some fabuloso times out there, here's my best with the DFPI kinda went slow on the last section, that last turn is decieving IMO oh and ZikQik's settings work, I hit this new time off my first couple laps (then kinda fizzled...lol):

T1 - :16.428
T2 - :53.747

It's been a while, but I've decided to join the fun once again.

After about 10 laps, here are my splits:
16.686
52.910

My T1 could have been better; I ran wide on the last corner of the sector, hand had to tap the brake to avoid the wall.

quick, get him ***sends trunk monkeys on a little trip, to Zikwik's"*** :sly:

anywayz got back in the saddle again, had a wickedly sore back for the last couple of days ('tis why i am a bit off the pace)

got some fresh splits, just pulled a second off the finish of my previous best lap, i reckon there my be another 0.5-1.0 second to go yet... losing oodles of time in T1-T2 at the moment...

T1: 16.044
T2: 53.025

Wow!!! I just used Zikwik's settings and I could immediately see I was gonna beat my old lap, 30 mins later and I finally beat it............by more than a second!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

T1: 0'16.456 (I know, I was gonna give up!)
T2: 0'52.784 (Hellooo...what's this then...)
Finish: 1'xx.xx4 ( ...surely that's a mistake?!?)

I couldn't believe it, particularly off such a craptastic start. I'll keep cracking away at this but I don't see anyway I'm gonna catch my ghost from T1 onwards?!?!?!?!?

At first glance, i honestly thought u were joking, lol. incredible SPLITS! looks like ur setup works better than mine, obviously. Even though i submitted my time to flat-out already, i am tempted to have another crack with ur extreme setup. yeah, i will have another go, just to see if i can get that 51 T2 time, is it ok if u ignore my first submission flat-out in case i beat my time?

/\ Yeah c'mon Cyril! Let 'em race and duke it out to the finish! LOL. Go Dan Go!

It's about time somebody else other than me has tried the soft and high. I'm running 6.5/4 or something like that, but I'd've never thought to use such low front camber!

I'm surprised you can run such mushy dampers as well and low bars... I'll have to try that!

Still driving with no aids, but I wonder if it's faster with. The only place where I could see needing them is across the tracks and in the right immediately following the middle straight.

Hmm...

Great splits Zik!

p.s. Latest T2 is 52.8XX.

Well had a go using zikwiks settings, and they are UNREAL! i bet my first submitted time by 1.15 secs, lol. crazy setup, works excellent:tup:

15.596 (seen 15.390 once)
51.424

i can beat my time by .2 ish i guess, but not more than .3, in this lap i lost .2 at the last 2 corners due to stupidness and braking too late on the last:ouch:

Lets see what hotboi can do....

Seems that everyone appreciate my settings :) !!!
Crazy splits holl01 :scared: !!!!

i just can't find nearly 2 seconds in a lap, so TIME SUBMITTED, looking forward to another week at the bottom of Div1 :P abd getting off of the damn GT Mode... which i hate...

I gave those settings a try too and knocked about a half second off my time. I immediately found a great line through the first chicane that easily knocked a few tenths off my time. I could probably knock another half second off as well. At the moment I am at........

T1: 0'16.114 (saw 15.9xx a few times)
T2: 0'52.889
T2 - finish: can probably knock off that half second there alone, that last corner before the hairpin is just as hard as the first chicane!
