Anyone want to race honda s800s? I've got the s800 rsc race car souped up :) I'm gonna try that and post my splits this weekend.
I do! But, I don't think I'll have the time...

Here's where I sit:
1. Volvo 245GLT time, good nuff for submission, but will probably go at it some more.
2. SRT-4 time ok, submittable, but definitely not at/near my limit.
3. What else did I drive? Skyline, don't think I'll use it though, I don't want to spend the time getting it to handle how I'd like, so in it's place, I'll use another wagon! The RS6... :sly: That'll be my up to >600hp street car.
4. Haven't done it yet, but I might run the RS4, in the <600hp street car "series", just to have another wagon in the lineup.
5. If I have time, I'll give the 787 a go, because I like it... And I want to have something that'll keep me at a reasonable place in the points. I don't know if I'll have enough time to really do that well in it though. We shall see!
6. Then if there's more time, I'll do a couple laps in the Honda race car, I drove it one day, and loved it!

Well I have 4 laps I will be submitting at this stage, here are the splits from them all:

HTML:
Honda S800 AMUSE S2000 Shelby Cobra Abt Audi TT-R
     RSC Race Car '68 GT1 '04 427 '67 Touring Car '02
     ================  ================  ================  ================

T1: 0'44.591 0'33.557 0'33.154 0'30.541
T2: 1'36.806 1'12.653 1'10.475 1'06.409
T3: 2'19.737 1'43.765 1'39.812 1'34.321
T4: 2'54.880 2'09.253 2'03.933 1'57.377
T5: 3'39.573 2'41.915 2'34.547 2'26.731
T6: 4'26.020 3'15.672 3'06.706 2'56.590
Fin: x'xx.x93 3'xx.x04 3'xx.x39 3'2x.x88

It's been a cool race but finding a car that suits me has been tough

I tried a few cars yesterday, including the Benz Patent 1886, but I gave up before reaching the end of the first straight. Can't struggle with the gas pedal to stay around 17 km/h for almost one hour.
Perhaps I'll try the Model-T and the 2CV instead.

@ Cryil
The Model T's quite fun,
But you will still have to balance the throttle for nearly ten minutes! lol

And watch for the oversteer, even off the throttle!

T1 1'20.837
T2 3'05.248
T3 4'27.630
T4 5'35.457
T5 7'04.298
T6 8'28.470

Oops!
Nearly posted the final time then too!

Mind you I don't see any harm in that, unless you are going to issue points etc for fastest time in all the catagories.
If you aren't gonna do that, why not let us post final times for anything other than the fast cars that the actual results are going to be decided on?

Just a thought!

Hey all, hadn't run in a while but this combo seemed to look good. Lot's of good discussion so far, it's been alot to read to catch up! Took a run in my beautiful Mazda 787B to see what I could do and I came up with this:

T1 - 26.847
T2 - 58.085
T3 - 1:23.090
T4 - 1:43.837
T5 - 2:09.939
T6 - 2:36.371

Had a big bobble coming out of the Porsche curves trying to keep it clean, and upon further review, found it wasn't even necessary as I wasn't clean in the first chicane to begin with :grumpy: . Switched back to the DS2 this week and it's been an easier transition than I thought it would be. Oh well, giving the thumbs a break before trying to clean that lap up. Was thinking about running some other cars but doubt I'll have time.

i had some time to roll out my new favorite road car (de-tuned to 802hp) ::

Viper SRT10
30.994
1'05.542
1'33.304
1'56.457
2'25.666
2'56.195

car's an animal.

Using a bone-stock Mazda MX-5 Miata 1800 RS (J) '04:
T1: 49.851
T2: 1'45.852
T3: 2'30.952
T4: 3'08.104
T5: 3'55.727
T6: 4'42.905

submitted my times for 8 cars to cyril just now. what a challenge and what a frustration to try to make clean laps ...
i am really curious how my times compare to all you other guys. i know i'm not a great driver (can't seem to finish the game ...) but it's getting better all the time, and my being 13th in the d3 class must mean something.
also wonder how many members will submit for all 8 classes cyril defined.
good luck!

those aren't set in stone... he was just giving some suggestions based on the banter in the thread.
"classes" are determined by what people submit.
If 5 people submit a time in the Model-T, well... there will be a model-T class. Get it?

Submitted, really disappointed with my effort, wish I would have seen this combo 2 weeks ago, but oh well, best I could do in 2 days:

Mazda 787B
best but dirty time in ()
T1 - 27.093 (26.6)
T2 - 58.263 (57.8)
T3 - 1:23.409 (1:22.9)
T4 - 1:44.599 (1:43.3)
T5 - 2:10.862 (2:09.3)
T6 - 2:37.446 (2:36.4)

Most of the dirty's came on the first set of turns after the S/F, took some getting used to before I could get it clean. There or the right onto the back straight right after T1. I wanted them to put up a wall on that apex so I'd stop cutting it :ouch: . All in all, it was a good challenge staying out of the red, but if I wanted to drive inside lines I'd go get in my car thats sitting in the driveway :mischievous: (hint hint).

Well I've submitted 7 laps, not sure where they all fit in the classification of laps or what they'll do for position etc but this race was a bit of fun if nothing else.

Just submitted my times too.

I only ran two cars, but had a heap of fun which was important.

I was happy with my lap in the '54 Gullwing, but I had to cut my driving in the CarbonR short as I've run out of time. I'm sure there was a bit more time left out there too... :grumpy:

Anyway, onwards and upwards towards Week 46!

Time Submitted. Got under the big minute mark. But I feel that I could of easily gone faster.

Time(s) submitted. I haven't raced since last week, but it was fun nonetheless, despite the placement I will get in the results 👍

GRR!!!

Went back to verify my replay and noticed that I had an "off" at the last chicane. Green behind the curb is no good, right?

Anyway, couldn't get within 0.7" of my ghost even though I had it beat at T6. I SUCK through the final curves. BLEH!

T1 26.963
T2 57.801 (seen as low as 57.5)
T3 1'22.297 (seen as low as 1'22.0)
T4 1'43.043 (regularly in the 1'42s)
T5 2'08.809
T6 2'34.811
T7 CRAP! DAMN! LAME! GRR!!

Mazda 787B

Really worked out the monkeys this week, and REALLY liked the two week format. I didn't get a chance to run any other cars, but this was challenge enough.

Next time at the 'Ring let's go two weeks! :^)

Hey SHig, I had a similar case in which I had two tires outside the rumble strip, front right on the rumble strip, and rear right barely on the green strip, inside the rumble strip, and Cyril said it was still ok and legal to submit it.

If your case matches the description above, I wouldn't see why it wouldn't apply to you, as well.

Times submitted in the Mazda 787B, TVR Speed 12 and Model T.

Good fun, although not enough time spent on any of them :(

Times submitted!

Audi R8 '01
Caterham Seven Fire Blade '02
Ford Model T Tourer '15
Jaguar XKR R-Performance '02
Volvo 240 GLT estate '88
Toyota 7 Race car '70

Lots of fun, but have just spent 4 hours chasing a barely dirty (at the final chicane) fast lap. Beat it with submitted time, .150 from a second barrier, but I don't have the time or the energy to try for that last little bit.

Really? I'll check at lunch if I get a chance to see. I had three barely dirty runs which would give me 0.3, 0.4, and 0.6 second faster than current.

If I can't get home to verify though, I'll stand with my current submission. Kills me to leave at least a half second if not more on the table in that last segment! If I had figured it out I might have had a chance at the podium...

I submitted my Audi time yesterday afternoon. Finally beat my time from more than a week ago (all of the time I made up was in the first and second chicane). First time in WRS, I guess I will have to see where I stack up.

Here are my new splits for the Audi R8
T1: 0'27.403
T2: 0'58.604
T3: 1'23.586
T4: 1'44.277
T5: 2'10.736
T6: 2'37.475

Really close to a dirty lap, one wheel is about an inch (2.5cm) from going off on the chicane before the dunlop walkover

Two cars in this one for me:
Audi R8
1886 Mercedes Patent Motor Wagen (the three wheel)

I suppose now we're beyond the submission deadline I can reveal my ride, for those of you that didn't work it out.

Jensen Interceptor MKIII '74 (All Gold Prizecar from International B licence)
Stock 384HP with no oil change, Stock Sports Medium tyres, 0.0miles on the clock to begin with.
Another car that you have to balance the throttle just right down the straights, since in it's quirky 3-speed stock transmission setup 147mph is as fast as you can get it to go before it hits the rev limiter!

Tremendous fun though! Being as I was born in Britain in '74 too, it seemed an appropriate thing to run! :)

There's some pretty close calls exiting both the chicanes on the mainstraight, but I've inspected the replay closely and there's 2 tyres in contact with grey tarmac or rumble strips at all times. 👍

It'll be interesting to see how your time stacks up against mine in the stock Gullwing.

I can't remember any of the numbers from the Merc, but I wouldn't be surprised if they're quite competitive. 👍

Ok, I have an internet connection right now, and 20 unread PMs (probably containing half a dozen times each). I'll try and post the results thread ASAP, but perhaps only tomorrow (it's already 1 am)
