finally i get to compete in the most loved and most dreaded track of them all. it's fantastic and horrible in one ... i never know if i should stop after hitting the grass or walls and restart for a clean lap or to continue the run and practice for the other part of the track.
nice pick of cyril to have the results depend on car choice. imo he could do that all the time. even better, more gt mode races would also require more tuning skills.
i thought i'd come up with quite a list of possible cars for this one but i'm disappointed how short the list is :-)
to be certain i'll send my list to mr. steward to check me choices.
good luck all and may the biggest german track adept (or junkie) win. i'm realllllllly looking forward to see video replays of the fastest submissions.

So, does anyone know if I have to win the race or not?

It shouldnt be an issue.....The cars im coming up against you can pass before the 2nd corner anyway...

if you set the enemy at +10 with s3 tyres you never need to worry about overtaking... meaning no questions about ai touching either.
BTW how about updating the leaderboard for week 48, dodos? i know i am lagging but still the point are nice :dunce:

Might be the case, but why not leave them on 0 difficulty and N3 tyres, pass them a couple of corners in and concentrate on your lap?

And i can check any PAL replays that need checking..

This combo is so much fun. I'm liking the secret car choices too; very mysterious. So far i've managed these:

T3 - 2'08.735
T6 - 4'32.522
T9 - 6'49.060

The lap was OK :indiff: but i had a weak finish because i just wanted to get a clean lap under my belt. I'd already binned about a dozen laps before getting this clean one.

I set the AI to +10 and gave him S3's thinking he'd be long gone but i actually ended up tripping over him in a couple of places up until T2. I did however manage to get some cheeky 'slipstream action' going. Whether it was enough for it to be worth being held up i don't know? Probably not. Will have to experiment with different AI.

As soon as all replays are posted and checked or DQ'ed. Or else I spend my time deleting results in the database and typing in corrected ones.

@ Casio : 10 cars tested already ? Were they all matching the race requirements ?

And as far as AI is concerned, I had a race set to -10 on Normal Hard and I (well, the automatic pilot at least) passed the opponent before the race started.

 That's quality. Might have to try that.

Well. Some were under 1800cc (I think you said this was allowed, not that it matters because they can't keep up), and I tested a couple of models of the same vehicles to see if a lower weight thus lower HP of the older vehicle was better then the higher weight then high HP.

One more thing. Does the weight have to be -10%? Can we experiment with higher weights/higher HP?

(Actually, that would be too hard to police....Don't worry about it then...)

EDIT: Passed before the start line too. Also, one of my cars crashes into the right wall turning onto the S/F straight. Idiot. I also had to race the Dodge Ram, try getting past that cleanly on the Ring!

well, the good thing about the nurb is that you can shave lots off seconds in just a single attemp. i did 2 races last night. my second race was 13 seconds faster the the first. bob seems to bb having fun in his convertible... best T9 was 6´54, so i guess i´m either too slow or just with the wrong car... but still, it was the only one i tried. lots of fun, the cars are not much powerful, so with the normal tires, it looks like a sunday drive

That would be too difficult to keep track of all possibilities. I already answered since the race was posted to a dozen of PMs. Plus it would be impossible to check.
So the maximum power allowed for each car on my list stays based on the minimum weight.

well i tried the combo for about 1 hour and managed

2'06.755

4'28.118

6'40.544

theres definitely another second in it, but will leave this one till i finish laps at the BC quallys.

I can find only 3 cars that meet all requirements and one that doesn't have the CC's listed, which may be legal.I found 11 ragtops but most had too much or not enough displacement

well well well cyril.
i think you have excelled yourself this time!!
i dont think gt4 is all about speed. its also about skill and proficiency amoungst other things, and a week like this is a well needed break from the norm.
i just wondered tho if we're competing against each other or just trying to perfect our time? you see the car i shall choose without a doubt will not have the same capabilities as the better racers on here will choose and that already puts me at a disadvantage (without my poor driving abilities!! ). just concerned that i'm at the foot of the pile before even pressing the accelerator!

Wow I must have something set wrong, or the wrong car cause my times suck!

2'19.275
4'54.329
7'20.359

I don't know how I can be that far off the pace. My times usually slower but not THIS slow. I guess I need help with car selection, but oh yeah, that part is illegal :grumpy:

Ahhhh first really good clean lap,I can trim more off of it. But It will stay like this til I feel like doing another.

T3- 2'06.723 (seen about .5 faster)

T6- 4'28.793

T9- 6'41.227

I think after trying to practice on the Nur, after 40 weeks of being absent from WRS really helped me on this track.

With such T-times, you should :
  1. PM me the car you chose, its minimum weight and the power settings you use ;
  2. check that you run on Normal tyres ;
  3. go and buy a maxdrive.

I've seen holl01's replay on the Nürb for week 30 many many times, and anyone who can run within 1 second of his time at T9 either did something wrong (chances are 99.99%) or deserves an instantaneous promotion to div1 (chances are 0.01%)

Lol I like economy tires, jk, No they are N3's I dont have a maxdrive, so I might have to tone my run down so I dont get a number one spot.. But ill pm you the car I used if you really want me to. I just like the way it handles, and its quite light.

I wasnt top 10 in the world on Forza for nothing.

OK, I switched cars and did much better... (for me anyway)

2'15.087

Trimming the fat, this lap is dirty because of the last turn before the straightaway but If I can copy theseT's ill be on my way. Still some seconds that can come off, 1-2 at the most.

T3-2'06.469
T6-4'27.551
T9-6'39.418

Be very interested to see what motor your running.....

Sounds like competition might be tough at the top this week!

Model T is over 6.00 power right??? :P joking, ive got my car sorted already. Great combo this week, i cant resist the nurb, till i crash at the end of the straight!!:grumpy:

StrokerAce...that is the funniest avatar I've seen on GTPlanet...hands down 👍 and as for your time...damn!!!! With splits like that I gotta agree with Cyril, something smells wrong, a Div 2 posting splits faster than holl01 is inconssccceevabul unless you've found some uber-1.8 that no one else has seen??? If it's legit then welcome to Div 1 buddy 👍

From what StrokerAce PMed me, the car he's using is on the list indeed... and others are using it too.

There are four that I know of... *edit* (removed the names of the countries from which they come)

*edit* I just read that Casio tested TEN cars? I wish I could figure out which ten he tested -- I couldn't find more than 4 that qualified...

That's a step forward towards naming brands, and then colors, drivetrain, wheelbase... and eventually everybody will know everything while the name has never been written.

Sorry -- I figured the country of origin wasn't against the rules... Edited my post, removed the names of the countries...

No prob. I didn't mind your post, it's just that we still have 7 days with this race, and if people keep focused on what cars are on the list, we'll soon have enough information in the thread to know exactly which are the ** cars on the list and what specs they can be tuned to.

If anyone has any question whether a certain car is allowed or not, just PM me : in one day I alreasy answered to 27 PMs concerning these secret cars. I'm not saying what cars are on the list, but if you mention the car you plan to use I'll confirm the max power and minimum weight allowed.

Special : all tarmac, concrete and cobblestones areas are legal. Only walls, grass and sand are off-track.

What about at the karusell? (spelling?)

That left hand side is worth a good bit of time for dead-even racing.
Is anyone willing to use that left side?
On our "honor" I would hope not, but for the sake of sport or fun anything could happen (I've been thinking about running an "illegal" car and just posting the replay without being in the official results post). :odd:

Otherwise this race looks like a ton of fun. 👍
I've got an open roof car with plenty of power and great pwr.
Times seen... T9: 6'52.???
Should be able to improve that dramatically, or atleast I hope so. :)
Gotta run for now... Later. :D

I'm not trying to make fun of your spelling or anything -- but I just don't know what you mean by "karusell?" Are you talking about that really-sharp, banked hairpin turn? (There are only two of those banked turns in the whole track, and only the first one has a large amount of concrete on the left side -- enough to drive "off track" and cut the curve deeply...) Is that what you're talking about?

If that is what you're talking about, then it would seem to be perfectly legal to drive on that concrete to the left of the turn, because all concrete areas are considered to be "on track" this week... Although, I personally try to stay off of it, because the bump going from the banked portion to the flat portion will usually cause me to lose control... And by staying on the banked portion, you get a faster exit speed (at least, from my experience...)
