Just Submitted my time.

So how much slower were your splits on the proper tires? I'm betting they weren't THAT much slower -- to get the splits you were getting, even on the wrong tires, you've got to know the Ring pretty well...

Famine
I hope you don't teach them English or ICT. Otherwise they need to find a better teacher. :D

Hmmm...I'll plead the 5th on that one :sly:

P.S. Still love that avatar stroker...it's pure Gold 👍

Urgh!!! :irked: I seem to have developed a curse on mondays. It's the last day I have before I submit (even though it's due at 15:00 on tuesday). I always work on tuesdays. But every monday I'll run my laps and always end up much slower. I'm behind by 3 seconds by the time T2 comes around. I can't figure it out so I'm taking a break and hitting it again later tonight.

 Woah!!! After checking the leaderboard for times comparison, i'm right up hollo's tail pipe. Not at home right now so can't post all the times but i know i have a t3-2'07.4xx Will def. be submitting this one :dopey:

Ok home now, ran a few more times

t3- 2'07.511
t6- 4'28.963
t9- 6'41.670

N3 tires 4 corners

Real funny thing i did "once" - passed the AI at the tight hairpin (just before t4 i think) under breaking and was over a second ahead by the next "timed location" then when he caught back up he ran me off the road and into the wall 🤬:banghead:

StrokerAce
My lap overall was 4 secs slower, I forgot the splits though.

So by T9 you might have been 3 - 4 seconds slower than your previous splits?

That'd put you right around 6'41 - 6'42 which is STILL smokin!

Gonna win D2 for sure, if not take 2nd overall outright! Put me to shame that's for sure...

yeah...

My goal for this week is to get 6'.5x.xxx on T9... But it's SO HARD to get a clean lap the whole way through... I've finally gotten the slipstreaming thing down -- I can keep up with the AI having SM tires and set to +7 difficulty until just before T6 or so. But I can't seem to stay with him that far AND have a clean lap at the same time... I've had several dirty laps that were a 6'58.xxx at T9, but no clean ones...

I had one lap where I just BLEW AWAY my old time (6'52.xxx at T9) -- then I realized that I'd forgotten to change my tires from SM to N3. :banghead: Oops... :dopey: I kept wondering why I was having to slow down to keep from hitting the AI. :)

So, I'll give it a few more tries tonight... See if I can't break the 7-minute barrier at T9... But since I'm the only one in Div3 to submit any times this week, it really doesn't matter, I suppose...

:irked: :banghead:
Haven't been this irked since my divorce :ouch:
Still don't have one clean lap to submit :grumpy:
Hearing the clock ticking away :nervous:
If nothing else, this combo is teaching me about the car 👍

Even frustrated as I am Cyril,
I love it:D

then again,
I am of a twisted sort :sly:

no you can select sport tyres initially, so that the AI you race against will have those tyres as well, but once in the race menu you have to change you own tyres back to Normal tyres, whilst the AI retains the Sports tyres... not the clearest explanation but i hope it helps...
Gotcha :D Thanks.

Nah, it's normal! Just try to do one lap clean, don't push it anywhere, even if it's sooooooper slow, it'll be clean. And once you have one clean lap, then all you can do is improve on it, not to mention, you'll get to see the end of the track. I don't know if you're one to restart after every off, but either way, do a nice'n slow one. I had three clean laps my first time at the ring, and by the end of the week, I could've probably been 10 seconds faster, but I couldn't get a clean lap. I had to have spent over 10 hours playing that week. Still loved it though.

Lawrence, I'm sure there'll be at least two other people submitting in D3. Not everyone posts their splits during the week. We'll see though! Everyone's definitely missing out though! :)

The Nurb has always been one of my biggest weak spots, and without any slipstreaming at all, and driving conservatively as to not DQ myself:
T3: 2'17.007
T6: 4'49.789
T9: 7'12.340

I broke my curse for today and was faster by 3 seconds overall. No major changes at the T9 split so I won't bother posting the splits.

I wish there was some way to change the AI's tyre choice without having to exit the race. This Evo VII that I'm racing against is giving my a hectic run, but if I can change his tyres to S1's or even S2's instead of N3's, I might be able to slipstream him more to better my time.

I'm praying that I can leave work by noon so I can have a couple more hours before submittion. :crossfingers:

👍 Thanks Kyle 👍
When I was battleing S-16 gold, I turned off the segment times, as I kept peeking, thus I would lose my turn-in :( .... I'm afraid to do that here, as I haven't tried it :nervous: .... it's just that I get upset with t-3 splits of :12's when I'm running :10's... I just have trouble maintaining that pace :(... worst comes to worst... I post a soft lap :grumpy: ... this car and I ... learning to dance instead of knife fight....

 thanks for the thought 👍

Allright!! I finally broke the seven-minute barrier at T9... I spent about 3 hours racing today, and finally got it!

T3: 2'10.270
T6: 4'36.442
T9: 6'56.514

I think there should be a "most improved" trophy or something -- the first splits I posted showed a 7'09.xxx at T9. My current splits show about a 15 second improvement from the start of the week. And the end-time is nearly 20 seconds faster! So I'm happy... :)

Time Submitted.

:) Take a chill pill Matt everything's groovy...Famine's one of the good guys 👍

New lap from me, I keep finding big chunks of time but making mistakes at various points, if I spent another hour or two I'd find another 0.5 - 1.0 second but alas I need to spend some time writing a really really really hard test for my Year 11's :sly:

T3: 2'08.192
T6: 4'30.159
T9: 6'45.023

The lap I gave Cyril yesterday had a question mark over it so I had to go and beat it...I managed to do so by 0.2 so I'm fairly happy, submitting my time now 👍

I haven't heard someone say "Upside your head" since 1987... Okay, I still technically haven't, but that's not the point... :D

Oddly enough, I'm in work (school) at the moment, but the kids are all on holiday. So I'm training my B-Spec driver... :D

Submitted my first clean lap.

I hate the Ring, I hate the Ring, I hate the Ring,I hate the Ring, I hate the Ring, I hate the Ring,I hate the Ring, I hate the Ring, I hate the Ring,I hate the Ring, I hate the Ring, I hate the Ring,I hate the Ring, I hate the Ring, I hate the Ring,I hate the Ring, I hate the Ring, I hate the Ring,I hate the Ring, I hate the Ring, I hate the Ring....

I wish i'd had enough time to do this... :(
Only had an hour this morning, best time i could get out of the 5 or so laps I was able to run was:
2'07
4'29
6'43

pretty sure i put three wheels off though...so I won't be submitting.
I'm so jealous of those who have the free time... these 12 hour days are going to kill me. :/

Had a good time, for me, but after further review there was a questionable tire off course and I copied over all previous runs. So... no replay = no submission. Seeya next week.

I would have probably gotten 5th or 6th in Div. 2, but instead got zilch!!

StrokerAce
actually had a 6'46.667 T9, and then slipstreamed the straight.

I'd be curious to know what AI settings you used and what car you raced to get to T9 at 6'46.667 and still catch a fast draft on the back straight. I could never get the right combo.

Best opening partners were at AI +10 and SM tires: NSX Coupe and WRX STi BB (or something to that effect) but they'd always run away early and I could never catch up. Other cars I'd pass before the right sweeper (after the big whoop-te-do left kink) and either stay ahead of or get hit getting passed back!

Must've had a heckuva draft to make up 4 seconds from T9 to finish...

-SHig

p.s. Time Submitted, replay ready to go...

Submitted my time.

Found that I was making up the seconds not from drafting the opposition, but because I was finding and learning the limits of the corners. I was way too tentative the first half of the week, by last night I was blasting through the corners with the opposition car miles ahead of me.

I could have been faster today but unfortunately had a lot of stuff going on so I didn't have the spare time.

Suzie

P.S. I love the Nurburgring, my all-time favourite circuit.

No submission from me, again, this week.

Have been racing in spare time, and have been trying till the very last minute. But have just failed to have enough of that 'spare' time to give this race justice.
( And to get a fast clean lap in. Have had fast laps, and clean laps, but never both at the same time!:banghead: )
Good luck Guys and Gals!👍 👍 👍 👍

So, Casio... I'm not quite sure where you stand on this issue... How do you feel about the Ring? It's just not entirely clear -- but I get a sense of dislike there somewhere... Hmmm... Still not sure, though... :sly:
