Hey guys quick question, rules state 2 wheels on the track at all time but also that rumble strips are part of track. Thing is on turn3 the fast left hander my outer (right) wheels are on rumble strip... would that be ok?? :scared:

Yeah that's more then fine. There have been previous instances where people have had half of 2 wheels a wheel on a rumble strip. As long as you have any part of 2 wheels on the rumble strip/road, you're fine 👍

So i'm still in the running to be the biggest loser :sly: 👍

These will then almost certainly, if nothing else happens and the world keep spinning, be my final splits...

T1; 29.140
T2; 1'00.158

Well I had a quick go and couldn't come close to my time, I also tried the BC qualifiers again and it would appear my thumbs are protesting GT at the moment...therefore I've submitted my time 👍

Board Updated

Having trouble with this one. I have eneough trouble getting into 29's for a t1 and i see 28's on the board. Whoa!

Will post t times tomorrow. My time at the moment is to embarising to be a D1 time.

i have to say i could play this combo forever... since i can´t play forever, i better play tonight, because last week i had too little PS2 time:sly:

i just love the handling of this car. all the cars you drive and get your hands hurting after one hour are great... that´s because you fight the DS2 to the limits... you can be agressive... that´s good:)

i ran with 320 gearing, don´t how people are running with 300... the car hits 303, 305 in the end of the straight, so i don´t know why...

well, back tomorrow with final splits i hope... that if i can get better on monday...:nervous:

new splits for the bottom of the list :guilty:
t1 31.693
t2 1.06.335
hope one day in time i'll come closer to any of you gt4 cracks.
tomorrow 10 more laps to get laptime below my 1.0x target before submitting.

Finally unlocked the car yesterday and had some time for exercising it with different gear settings. Unfortunately I couldn't get any sort of clean lap, always having understeer on those tight turns (possibly not braking well enough), that or getting fooled by the sandtrap. :ouch:

Quick question here though. Can we submit a time by pm to Flat-out then post a better time, or is it only one pm submission with time posting in the thread before we do that? (hoping to be clear enough :scared: )

You can post as many splits as you little hearts desire, but only one PM to Cyril (Flat-out).

Exceptions might be where you run on tues/wed, PM your time cos you don't think you will get any more time to run. Then on the following tues you find some time and do a much quicker run, then Cyril may accept a further submission from you.

Just don't make a habit of it, his job's hard enough as it is!

Thanks for the advice. And after some runs today...

T1 - 31.671
T2 - 1'05.236

Not that fast but not last! :D

It's monday and I'm suffering from my 'monday curse'. I can't put a lap together worthy of a Div3 title. Damn this curse. I'll let it slide out and try again later tonight.

Because you're running the faster NTSC car. :sly:

I tried running 300, I got very, very close to the limiter, but didn't hit it. Also, if Dan's running 300, I assume he's not hitting it either.

That must be the case -- with 300 gears I hit the limiter, but with 310 I didn't... I'm NTSC...

Here are some new splits for me:

T1: 30.450 (0.586 sec SLOWER!)
T2: 1'02.370 (0.312 sec faster)

Don't know exactly how I did that -- slower T1 time, but faster T2 time. And my end-time is a good half-second faster than the last time I posted my splits... So this one will probably be the one I submit, since it's the end-time that counts on the results page... Unless I can get one more time that's just a bit faster -- if I can run the T1 that I ran on my previous splits, and the T2 and End that I ran on this one, I'd be in great shape!

I ran the gears at 300. No improvement since last post, but it's squeaky clean. Time Submitted

Haven't had any time at all this week to get a run in, I'm just about to give it a last gasp stab.

Well that's the same thing happening with my new split times...
T1 - 31.312 (.359 slower)
T2 - 1'03.872 (1.636 faster)

That's on the 340 setting (so now hopefully my times can go further down :mischievous:) but sadly time is running out on this one. Still, this challenge is quite a rush, with a fast and nimble car and a track like none other. I really dig the fast uphill left corner, it's the closest there is to Spa's Eau Rouge - Radillon in this game. :dopey: I made some sparks come out while running on 320. :sly:

Took another crack at it and kicked the curse one more time. Small improvement over last but every little bit counts.

T1: 0:29.619
T2: 1:01.582

oh, camon casio, not with the faster NTSC talk... :sly: PD would have to rework the phisics of this car to make it different... only this car. makes no sense. we have a pal version with fairlady Z, a NTSC version with 350z LM but we also have a NTSC-J version with fairlady Z... it´s just math. i bet its a bug from the game... but that does not make much sense when you even up the stats (590 in this case) i played the chinese version of GT4, when it came out, and it was just like my NTSC version, expect for the minor changes like the S-16 test. they just changed the HP input of the fairlady Z to make it a GT500 car.

i´m sure famine or someone else can explain this, or jerome could test both version just to give his take on this... thing is, if you stay inside, or in the middle of the track in turn one, you will have to brake early, and therefore, not hitting 300. 303 only if you dive downhill with two wheels on the grass and then cut back in. start/finish speed might be a better indicator... i hit at 263 in a good lap... and this is not a low reving nissan, so that might also explain... i redline it to shift gears...

well, makes no sense to have different cars with the same power figure, but i would love to see what jerome can say about this...

anyway, this to me does not take away ben´s great lap. dan can´t win forever, right?

After a quick coffee, lots of tyre squeeling, many overreving and an unique moment where the car became an expensive spinning top, I didn't polish my time at all. I couldn't clean lap myself out of a paper bag!:ouch:

This makes me wish I ran sooner today :guilty: but c'est la vie.

well, had a chat with ben over MSN, and we both went for a little final try.
turns out, after checking replays, we didn´t improved.:dunce:

so i got the best split, and he got the best laptime:grumpy:

submitting after this post:

T1 - 28´692
T2 - 59´147

lots of fun, finally starting to understand that uphill lucky corner, but too late. great combo, i love JGTC-like cars...

i had a lap of
28´571:)
58´977:dopey:
then
crash = dirty = :grumpy:
but it was fun:tup:

Had a looooooooong session at this tonight, and have removed 1.3s off my overall laptime, and most of it in the final sector. :)

New splits:-
T1 29.053
T2 1'00.307

I am about 70% sure that the NTSC car is faster. I'm not doubting, your or Ben's ability. But personally, I don't think I'm that far off your pace, I certainly don't believe I'm 1.5+ seconds a minute off your pace. Even at T1, I got pretty close to nailing it perfectly, and only got a 29.0, I see no way at all that a 28.4 is possible.

Also, a couple of you NTSC guys have said you hit the limiter at 300 gearing. I have never, ever, never, ever hit the limiter at 300 gearing. I've also come out of the corner very fast, I don't see anyway of doing it.

I PM'd Jump_Ace a couple of days ago, and he said he'd check it out. I guess it passed his mind.

I come to 290 with top speed on 300, but my top speed is a bit higher on the straight when i have it on 310.
I have the pal version

Something is surely up this week, just have a squiz at the leaderboard. I know for a fact Casio and I both raced our guts out and watching my lap I can barely see room for improvement. In no way does this take away from NTSC laps they are no doubt super fast and still genuinely quicker than me but T1 is a perfect example, the best T1 I ever saw was like a 29.1xx and the thought of finding a 28.4 is mind boggling. Regardless though this race was fun 👍
