If anyone has a "walkthrough" of this track that they'd like to post, I'd greatly appreciate it!
'Using 310 gears'
First corner, start out wide, you
have to hit the apex for maximum speed through that corner (~120mph/192kmh). Then, Flat-Out for the next left-right.
The next right is blind, so it's a gamble on when to brake, personally I keep on full power and just left footbrake to slow me down slightly, you have to
at least hit the inside right apex or you'll be in no position for the double left.
Brake just before the first left apex of the double left, down to 3rd, and accelerate over the next one.
For this pain in the arse uphill right, get over to the left of the track (But don't go stupid), and brake late (3rd gear again). If you brake early you just understeer into the wall, which isn't good for fast times.
Full power down the straight (duh
). For next double right, brake just before the first right apex and shift down to third. You have to try and hit the second of the right apex's or you will be in no position for the hairpin.
Stay tight in the hairpin, if you go outside the solid white line, you're too far out. Ideally, accelerate over the rumble strip on the inside of the end of the corner. (3rd gear for this too.)
Stay tight on the sweeping right. Brake around about where the brown cobblestone stuff ends. Change down to 4th. You
have to get somewhere close to the left apex at the top of the hill. Still pull-power, you should be bouncing off the limiter, change up to 5th before you get to the down slope. Get close to the apex on the left, but not to close, as there seems to be a bump there which will probably send you into the wall and **** you up 3 times over.
Again, the next corner is blind, you have to brake before the peak of the crest, and turn in and hope you hit the right apex and not the wall. Keep it in 4th, keep it tight. If you try to take this flat-out, you'll end up in the beach, personally I left-foot brake just before the second apex to tighten my line.
All flat-out to the last hairpin, if you exited the last corner fast enough, you'll need 6th gear. Brake late, really late. You should end up about Two-Thirds to Three-Quarters of the way to the left wall. Using 3rd, just floor it and you'll get around fine if you get within 1.5 metres of the late right apex, any wider you'll have to back off slightly to stop a head on with a bridge pole.
And that's El Capitan
