Is everybody sure that the NTSC car is exactly the same as the PAL car? I ask because I had a session and got the following splits.

T1 - 29.756
T2 - 1'01.329

I had a best T1 of 29.2xx, and that was pretty much perfect I feel, maybe I could just sneak below 29 if I really nailed it. I don't see how a 28.5 is possible, that's only ~0.5 away from Hol's T1 time that had 140+HP. Another thing I thought they might be different is because of Filizola's very quick time for a Division 3, is he NTSC....?

Man, I'm slow...

T1: 32.450
T2: 1'06.125

I spent an hour practicing with the WRONG CAR!! I accidentally picked the GT-R Concept LM Racecar instead of the 350Z Concept LM Racecar... Oops! :ouch: But the times above are with the 350Z, not the GT-R... I only ran about 5 laps with the 350Z, and the time above is the fastest clean one...

Been practising alot. These are my current fastest times:
T1: 0' 30.273
T2: 1' 02.490

Still alot of room for improvement.
I'm hoping to shave off half a second from t1 and a couple of seconds of the t2 time.

btw, I'm not assigned to a devision yet, waiting for a reply from Flat-out

Casio, I am NTSC.

My time is fast because I raced with the 350Z LM in GT Mode for around 1,000 mi. and I know El Capitan well. I don't have a replay, but I could give a description of my line to anyone who wants it.

Board Updated

Hmmm....I'm feeling left behind here?!? My new splits:

T1: 0'29.762 (0'29.3xx)
T2: 1'01.456 (1'00.8xx)

In brackets are the upper most limit of what I see being possible from me this week but if I get within 0.3 of that T2 I'll be happy. I know I suck with racing cars but I'm really S-T-ruggling this week  a lap description would be greatly appreciated particularly up to T1, I'm losing 0.5 - 1.0 there alone 👍

homie montana
well my dog caught my controller cord and dropped the ps2 on the ground. Now it reads cd's but doesnt recognize the controller at all. Too bad im broke right now too! :ouch: So I guess I can't run till I buy a new one :dunce:

OUCH!! That bites a big one. I wish Sony would do what the XBOX has done to their controllers. A seperate connection so that if someone (or you pet) catches the cord, it'll release at that point and not bring the system crashing down.

In a sense, I'm in the same boat. Although I can still continue, I'm just not as good anymore with the DS2. My steering wheel crapped out on me. The motor quit as I was making a turn and almost fell off of the couch. Good thing I have a 2 year replacement warrantee.

My splits thus far (this time with the correct BHP)
T1: 30.478 (seen 30 flat)
T2: 1:03.108 (seen 1:02.5, then stuffed it after the hairpin) :dunce:

if you know anyone that knows how to use a soldering iron, you can replace the controller ports for ~$30US

Finally got some time to run in this one, although I'm away for the weekend again, another snowboarding excursion, so it may be the only run I get.
However, I had a "senior moment" when saving the replay, :dunce: and saved the full replay instead of ghost replay. The lap is clean, and it's lap 1 of 1, so will the full replay be OK to submit if it's needed? Sorry! :guilty:
I'll have to go back and beat it, but it's a fun combo, so hopefully I'll improve! ;)

Running NTSC, +18 Power (590HP) -10 Weight (1008kg) and RS tyres. Top speed 330 km/h.

T1 29.507
T2 1'01.602

New splits for me, and a proper ghost save so you don't need to worry about my previous "Full Replay" question! :dopey:

T1 29.416
T2 1'01.064

Think I may have hit my limit here, but there's 2hrs left before my Missus gets back from her work night out, so I may have a few 1/1000ths left in me! There's a certain barrier I'd like to break, and I'm only 6/1000ths off it at the moment! :irked:

Turns out all I needed was a beer to make me drive better!

Wow! Have more beer!
Found almost a full 4/10ths at the line!

T1 29.190
T2 1'00.645

It's clean, but scarily close to the wall in the righthander after T2! :scared:

spent about 1 hour and managed

28.861
59.573

finished ok, but lost .15ish in the last sector, great combo, the car is way better with reduced power, no wheels spin issues at the hairpin:dopey:

after seeing icemans splits, i am struggling to see if i canmatch them, will have to try the ds2

i have a feeling the NTSC car has better handling than the PAL car to counter the fact that it doesn't have as much power, i am most likely wrong but i think it could be a slim possibility...

will have another crack at this today...

well, usually i am slower than the rest of the lot but this is rediculous. i love the z and el cap but i get nowhere near other t times. can anybody make a serious check between pal and ntsc performances of this car at 590hp? it smells like hardware differences. i can only reach
t1 32.707
t2 1.07.123
lap well over 1.3
thanks
btw still a lot of fun chasing the captain, it's by far the most scenic (if non existent) track of them all. :dopey:

Maybe it's a downforce thing, the NTSC version 350Z LM Edition has stock settings of 38/53 F/R downforce in GT mode, so I assume it's set the same way in arcade mode since there's no way of altering downforce in an arcade race.
Does this match the PAL figures?
Ah, why the heck am I arguing? :dunce:
holl01 has proved after a mere hour of tinkering, that the PAL car is as quick as the NTSC.
It's taken me 6 or 7 continuous hours and 100s of laps to get my splits! :ouch: And most of that was from the "hold-on-and-hope-to-avoid-the-walls" :P attitude that I adopted for taking the corners before T2! :nervous:

I've still got a raised eyebrow myself though...holl01 may have fast splits but he is beat (which in itself is an eyebrow raise :sly:). Do any WRS'ers have both versions of the game?!?

well i had a crack at it, am getting very frustrated with this combo at the moment, can get some awesome splits between Start-T1 and T1-T2, but never on the same lap... :(

still cant figure out the left-right combo up and down the hill before T2, dropping 0.3 in there alone i reckon...

anyways after another 45min sesh i managed some half decent splits and took 1.1 seconds off my previous best...

T1: 29.491 (29.1xx)
T2: 1'00.833 (1'00.1xx)

hope to pull another second off of my overall time... will put down a couple of hours after the weekend

i don't have any reason to doubt Ice's times, that boy is seriously quick!!! but i am a little perplexed this week how i am so far off the pace, i expected to be quicker...

i reraced the japan race and won the z lm car just to check. it's 38/53 as well so downforce is not the issue. other settings in gt mode are:
tranny 14/3.545
springs 15/8/14.8
dampers 4 x 8
camber 2/1
toe 0/0
stabilizers 6/6
brakes 3/3
can you check in ntsc?
about holl01 -> please don't compare as he is an alien, remember?

I think Jump_Ace does.

Just checked. And it matches.

But I am too having doubts that the car is exactly the same. As Iceman said here. He's seen 28.6s, and thinks a 58.8 is possible. That's 0.8 faster then Dan's current time. Also what I found interesting was that Iceman got those splits after 45 minutes, and Dan got his slower splits in an hour. I mean no offence to Iceman, but from experience Dan is probably almost the quickest guy on the planet out of the blocks.

From what I've seen iceman post he is just as fast as the other top racers and usually can max out as quick. I haven't seen him win yet but he just seems to play combos for an hour then never comes back.

The only way to be sure this weeks car is the same in PAL/NTSC variants is to have someone with both formats run a hotlap in both and post the results, also a quick B spec test in both cars would help confirm any findings.

I find it strange that the power varies depending on format and would question this until a definitive answer can be found.

ben is a top BC driver, and does very well with fast cars... its all about that uphill turn... you can get very lucky there and get almost a second faster... maybe in ben´s run he had a very good turn there...

i bet 10 dollars the car is the same. PD create an LM car. GT used math to calculate the performance of the cars, and in this case, they just increased the power from 500 to 600 in the PAL version... no biggie, its the same machine, if you put both with 590...

i did play last night, and got similar splits compared to my first ones:

28´774
59´810

still, i lost clearly 0´5 second after T1... on that jump corner... ip´m very positive about this one, as i saw 59´6 with a 29´0 split in that lap... so i can reach 59´3 with a very good lap... too bad its a lucky shot, as you have to throw the car in that uphill corner... i´ll try to spend some time over the weekend on this, since i´m getting uber frustrated with the BC6 combos:yuck:

Why on earth would they change the HP ? It's even got a different name between the versions (Yes, I know why).

You're probably right, they are probably exactly the same. But you never know...

Had another session and was able to improve on the last sector. Lost .2 or .3 on the hill turn before t2 but otherwise the lap is the best I can do. This will be the one I submit.

28.493/59.231

icemanshooter23 you may want to take a look at that T1 time again, it's at least 7s too quick!!!! ;)
