Sat down for another 25 minutes, started using fourth gear instead of dropping to third for a few turns/sections with the 340 gearing...
T1: 21.051
T2: 49.993
I think that might be it for me... I know I can go faster, but, eh.
Oh, and I don't have aids. Or use them.

Yeah with me it's more of a mind game with myself. Do I bother going on even more without TCS, knowing that the cars faster with it. Or do I play with TCS so that I dont blow my brains out every single time I have a good lap and spin the tires.
With TCS I'm still about .3 sec faster. But it depends on the area. I know I can dip into a T2 of 48.xxx, but now my times are determined purely by how clean they are, not by what my line is. Well I guess they're related, it's just basically how much do I push a handicapped car to compensate for my sanity.
I guess I'll post some new times tomorrow, overall I've taken off at least a second, even though my splits may not show it.

Oh and on another note, have been using 330 gearing from time to time. Without a doubt it's helped me from T1 on, it's just that, is topping out at 202mph by the hairpin worth it?

Well, I pulled another 0.8 sec off my final time, but didn't improve my splits by nearly that much... (In fact, my T1 split is about 0.05 worse...)
350 gearing, TCS on, RM tires...

I'm prolly not going to improve much more -- don't really have the time this week... But I'm really liking this combo! (Can we race this car on the 'Ring sometime?)

Oh for the love of cream cakes. Gave it an hour or so with TCS off and just couldn't improve at all. Think I only got 2 or 3 clean laps in that time 
It needs extremely precise car positioning and braking to get the right line through those tight corners at speed and I'm just not in the zone this week. Think I'll bow out with what I have - probably won't be able to resist one more session tomorrow though
Much respect to everyone who's mastering the combo though - I think it's a really tough one...

small improvment for me:

memo to myself, after a good lap, always save... after i did this lap i had other in which i was 0´2 in front, but i had to quit in the final straight because i couldn´t remember if the lap was clean or not in the start
so i couldn´t complete otherwise i would lose this previous lap
anyway, i´m more comfortable with this combo now, but still not using 3rd in the last corner. so i´m still losing 0´3 there. just too much throttle control for my liking. lets see if i can improve tonight, maybe a 0´1 or 0´2. 340 gearing, no aids.
the problem with aids in arcade is that you can choose the intensity. if you turned on, its 10 and 10. i wish we could tweak for 1 or 2. then it would be a good choice for cars like this one. a LSD would be also great

Still using TCS so that I don't throw my controller where it shouldn't be thrown. Think this is it for me. Kinda dissapointing knowing that I'm capable of better. I'm just totally getting raped in T1 though. Because I was finding out my T1 --> T2 times. And compared to other people, it's pretty respectable. Usually .5 off from most people. Which isn't that bad considering that my total time behind is 2.161.

In the database it says im using ds2 I'm not
I'm using a driving force ex which is basically like running a dfp with dodgy motors in 200degree mode. Gt picks it up as dfp.
Damn i have the second slowest first split. Well i got some tonight. Just have to wait and see what i get.

Time in. About to stab someone in the face.
If you're watching my replay, and you see me for no reason at all change down a gear on the finishing straight. It's because my 'change down' (L2) button was sticking and being generally a ****. So I swapped the change down button (L2) with the 'look back' button (L1). It felt wierd for a few laps, but I got used to it.
Anyway, I was on a killer lap, I go to press the 'look back' button to see how far I am infront of my ghost, forget that I changed them around, and end up bouncing on the limiter down the straight. I still beat my old ghost, but only by .1, when I was .4 up at T2!
I can't bebothered doing anymore laps. Yeah. That's my story....

Spent ages running scared with TCS on then studied holl01's guide as best I could and went faster, cheers holl01. It was a whole lot more enjoyable with manual gears too, so long as you're in the right gear.
Will be submitting these unless I get a "eureka" T1 -T2 moment later tonight

I've been running it the wrong direction (normal) ever since the beginning. I suppose I've just kind of assumed that and never fully read it once i saw the inital post.
Maybe in the hour between when I get home and when the submission deadline is, I'll have a time done.
