GT4 WRS Week 6: "Step Into the Ring!"

That's what i am getting to, most of the time! But my real problem is in the t6-t9 sectors.

It's mainly in my head, i know, but some corners just scare me stiff!

I can't get the 'Karussel' right! I either go into it too slow and take it in 2nd, up to 3rd for the exit, or too fast and exit SLOW!

How are you fast guy's taking it?

I can't use the pavement on the inside, it's just not in my nature! Opinions?


Start by going pretty fast. Ur geting almost the karousell yourself, so ur in that straight well before it. When u get the last apex before the karousell, like 30 m before it, brake it and down to 3th gear all the way. Start accelerating and after 1 second put your 2th gear and start playing with the car´s anger. Don´t let it go away from the banked corner, try to play with its anger and so when u get about the half of karousell, just put full acceleration so u will get flat out in that very first apex after karousell, and u will get pretty fast there. 👍

Thought that approach would work, but it take's pinpoint accuracy to get it right and i don't seem to be there yet! will get there though! i think that the key to getting it right is having the balls to 'peg' it through the previous complex and keep your speed up around the right b4 the Karussel!

Hi guys.

I still think this car is a 4x4 as its always heading for the bush and trying to climb the nearest wall, instead of staying on the tarmac!

Still need lots of improvements from T9 - finish (mostly uncharted territory), but the rest of the track i know quite well.
 
I'm beginning to hate this car...it doesn't seem to want to turn in, where as all the other race cars I've driven on this track have no problem turning in, if I take the correct line. Maybe that's part of the challenge here...different car, different way of driving it.

My T2 is a consistent high 1:05, but I seem to lose it on the final 1/3 of the track. I had one lap this afternoon about 3 seconds faster than my best lap, I flew through Wipperman, Eschbach and Gruncchen, I get to Pflanzgarten and I hit this bump that I swear I've never hit before, it sent the car careening across the track backwards and into the armco. :banghead:

After a few choice words 🤬 (and resisting throwing my control, as I know they're fragile) I decided to put the game away for the night. There are some awfully fast times being posted...the learning curve is pretty steep here!
 
my first run, but it should have been better, i made some mind boggling mistakes, one time i let the foot off the gas for half a second, it cost me .3, and i buggered the end like u would not believe. lost .4 on last sector alone

ARGHHH. Another hour of futility. Must be funny watching me play. Every few minutes i swear a couple of times or start rolling on the floor in agony.

Ok, this is getting frustrating.. I'm hitting 2'10.5 consistently for T4, but now Ex Muhle is giving me problems. If it's not one corner, it's another. I'll get my next clean run in by the weekend at this rate. :/

Well, I've found a line that's getting me .5 off T1 and consistently faster on T2 ... I'm also running 1.5 seconds faster by T5 ... but I can't hold the sucker for an entire lap ... really struggling tonight, may be pushing too hard, but I be damned if I'm going to bed before I've posted faster sectors.

I'm only posting now because I need to get away from the damned PS2 before my head explodes.

EDIT: Just ran my first 105.4 T2 ... which I'm happy with ... now if only I could keep this POS on the bloody track :grumpy:

Had a few more (bloody 20 probably) re-starts last night, but finally got a better clean lap down ... I've been struggling with the last part of the track, but my overall time has improved by 2.5 sec.

whats the deal with the "max speed" thing in quick tune? does that modify gear ratios? can we toy with it?

Hi meeekael,

Yes you can change it, according to the fast guys around here the best setting is 320km/h (I think 200 miles per hour).

Probably does modify the ratios for all the gears same as Auto setting I think ...

try shifting to 6th b4 the jump, and staying flat out for both turns.

should be around 167km/h mid apex of the corner

Thank you sir! Dropped my T2 to 2'05.8... Now if only I can keep it that fast and continue on... It's made a big improvement in my times, now if only I got to spend some time on the rest of the track before getting more than 2 wheels off..... :crazy:

Still don't have a clean time yet. I might just do one just to get one up though... Argh. More in the morning, maybe... Or just saturday. I don't know how you guys have the time! w00!

Anyway I've some new splits, maybe more for me here than I thought at first my T1-T4 was pretty high on this one so I know there's still a chunk left. Too bad I'm going to be working 36 hours over the next three days.:indiff: maybe I can sneak one more session in Monday night.:sly:

Jeez I'm losing like 7 sec. from T4 (2 sec behind) to T9 (9 sec behind !) on your times ... if only I could stay like 2 sec behind all the way thru, that would be a much better time !
 
Managed to hit my target time for this week so I'm very pleased about that. If i can go quicker it's a bonus but i'd be happy submitting what i've got so far.
