It feels like a 24 hour race. :scared:
I finally got a clean lap. đź‘Ť

Improved by 4 seconds hopefully I can get another 4 or 5. :)
 
Dammit, i dont have time to read this whole thread, like i usually would, but i have found time to come into work and post an update for all the Division 2 ers to chase, so here we go:

T2: 1'04.820
T4: 2'10.447 (not happy)
T7: 3'46.351 (messed up here too)
T9: 4'38.043 (down by 2 seconds here and i know where they are too)

I have to get it all right, and beat the ghost a couple of times in the right places, then i will be happy....

Its just having to restart the damn track five million times before i get a good T2 thats bugging me at the minute.... damn twisty bits....

Then there's that lovely moment of bliss when you get the first section ABSOLUTELY PERFECT and then you hit the jump on the first proper crest, and the car bounces off to the left as you have too much speed, or you hit the wrong part of the tarmac as you leap, and you end up in the barrier though no fault of your own...... such bliss.......
 
I played 2 frustrating hours last night and got 1 clean lap. Woo hoo.

I know for a fact that I can cut off 5 secs overall 'cause I've done it. I wrecked after T9. Such a downer.


Just for s**ts & giggles, I'd hate to be the one cleaning all those battered TT-R's off the course. :dopey:
 
Finally had a chance to pick up on this again - new T9 at 4'45.236...

Not by much, but improved nonetheless....
 
Hmm .. I've been away from GT4 for te past month but I believe this is going to bring me back :).

If only I could get another clean lap down..

I managed to catch the ghost of my previous best TWICE on the last lap.. Each time because I had a small off that cost me a couple of seconds each...

If only....

STILL no clean laps...

Got so far:

Then the wheels fall off (or the car falls off of the road!)

LMM - I'm still a second slower than you on T2, I'll have to go back and see what I've done on the others . . .but I'll see your "yucko" :yuck: and raise you a :ill:, as in "Sick of "offing" three quarters of the way into a good lap!"

What a blast though!!

yay for me... T9 down to 4'44.382 and 1.3 off final time....

Looong way home on this one....
 
It has just dawned on me - as I race ever further over the edge - that I'm attacking corners faster, but with the exception of just a few, I really have no idea HOW I'm meant to be attacking them.

I'm chasing my own ghost here, learning a few more corners, perhaps modifying one here or one there and trimming off half a second or a couple of tenths, but even though I'm driving "balls to the wall", there is no chance in hell that I'll ever save even just 4 seconds off a T9 time ... which lets me know, in no uncertain terms, that I must just be driving too many corners utterly wrong.

It's this sort of thing that killed me at El Capitan ... I can drive, I just don't know how to technically approach this course ot it's individual corners.

Here we have h0t6o4 doing 1'03.953, and I JUST found a new line to get a consistent 1'05.4xx! :lol: (Well, a lot has to do with the 330km max speed's gearing)

I'm consistently smoking my ghost through the first half of the course, then I wasn't using the gears correctly after the Karussel and fell behind .4 in T9... then spun out into the sand trying to make up the lost times. :yuck:

You went so fast from T7 to T9 you travelled BACK in time.. Now wonder I can't keep up ;)

Yeah. The gearing is a little shorter for the 330km final gear than 340km. There are a couple sectors where normally I would be NEAR redline but with the 330 setting I would be in the next gear carrying a couple km/h more, which shaves off some precious times. :)

Edit: W00t! I'm a GTP Addict now! :lol:

*sighs* I can repeat my previous sectors and T9, but I be damned if I can make that mental bloody leap into the '7 second improvement range' ... this is crazy.
 
OMFG!!! This is the gayest moment of GT4, EVER!! So I beat my final time by 2.xxx secs and decided to go save my replay, now I'm stuck in the black screen with the red "tach" spinning for 3 minutes!! :banghead: :banghead:

Big-time edit: Finally, the damn thing finished loading! I fed the PS2 some Burger King and I guess that made it happy enough to give me my replay back. :crazy:
 
Just to upset you guys even further, i ran a quicker lap.
Unfortunately, i didnt write the T's down to post here, and i aint near a ps2 now, so you'll have to wait till next week to know what youre all chasing (well, those of you in div 2) but i think it went something like this:
T2: 1'04.8xx
T4: 2'09.9xx
T7: 3'45.7xx
T9: 4.37.8xx

I am very happy with that, and i know that chips is gonna have to work to beat me this week..... Cmon fryz me lad...

I am definitely gonna do a corner by corner write up for you all when i get a keyboard thats mine and time in front of me.
I will enjoy it actually, so Koly, have patience, and i'll try to help you if i can.

Please people, if you havent got the car at 320kph max speed, then you are driving with an audi on a tow rope behind you, believe me, it will slow you down in terms of race speed.
The jump after the very first twisty section should be taken flat in 6th, with the car on the far left of the tarmac, held VERY straight as you leap, to ensure you dont fall off when you land. Following landing, you should steer right immediately, into the corner, even if you dont think so, otherwise you will understeer off into the wall on the left hand side. this should give you a flat out speed of 190mph as you approach the blind crested left just before the right which leads into T2.

Oh, and I'm running at 330 max speed ... better, butter by your standards not good ... so I'll make this switch and MAYBE I'll see a few seconds drop off. Lord, if that happened I'll marry you.
 
Interesting. Tried the 320 max speed, had some doubts when my first couple of sectors were .5 - .9 seconds slower, but it seemed to have paid off towards the second half on.

Here are some improvements, except the first T1 - T3. :D

I know three spots where i can gain a full second if i get them right.
1st, The first left hander.
2nd, the left hander over the bridge (not sure where) and following steep uphill right.
and
3rd. the uphill right hander after the left hand bend where Nicki Lauda wrecked really badly (i think thats it).
 
On the shadowed up hill just before the turn I slow down about 40mph or less and then floor it and turn and it seems to have payed off but then you have to slow down real fast so not to go into the grass.
