I think I might possibly have the slowest time this week, and the least powered car to match! Unless daan submits in his Pug of course...
Last place is mine, and I'll fight you every step of the way for it!

That'll do pig.

That'll do.

Time in.

After realizing that this car was my only chance I quickly thought up of a plan and started executing it. I knew from years of researching the MKIII Supra that the 7MGTE was fairly bullet proof, besides one small area. This area is the head gasket that likes to go pop at anything more than stock boost. This was taken care of be a thicker HKS metal head gasket that Young had lying around the shop from a previous build. Before bolting on the head with ARP head studs Young had one of the older shop members port my head and install bigger Ferrera valves. The Intake manifold was ditched for custom sheet metals piece that I fabed up using their welding equipment. Young installed bigger injectors for the added flow that this old 7MGTE would be seeing. The stock exhaust manifold was also trashed for a custom tubular turbo manifold, which held a secret spec Trust (Greddy) turbo in the engine bay. We threw in an intercooler Young had laying around from a failed Skyline project and I fabed up the charge piping. The exhaust was a strait through 4 inch set up that I also fabed up.
The brakes and suspension was also worked over with the rest of the car. We installed some Tien coilovers on all four corners with some camber plates on top in the front. The front and real anti roll bars were replaced with some thicker adjustable units. Young fabed up some strut bars for the front and rear tower’s as I welded in an X brace to tie in the frames. All of the bushing were replaced with heim joints that would not bind and allow the suspension to move freely. We installed steel braided lines at all the corners, along with bigger discs from an MKIV Supra. We used project Mu’ pads along with their calipers designed for the heavier MKIV. With all the engine and suspension/brakes taken care of we focused on losing weight and aerodynamics.

All of the ugly red interior was ripped out of the car so save weight. We placed a single Momo racing seat that was lying around the shop, this thing only weighed 10 pounds. Young ordered up a carbon fiber hood to replace the stock hood, and I made a sheetmetal front splitter. We had to put an ugly rear wing on the back because young couldn’t order the C-West one in time. For wheels I ford some light Nissan 350Z wheels made by Volk Racing that we redrilled to fit, and mounted some super sticky Advan racing slicks on them for grip. We suck a lightweight flywheel along with a stage 3 six puck-racing clutch into a custom belhousing that was attached to an MKIV six speed gearbox. After this long three day build was completed in my now biohazard underwear, my luggage finally arrived at my hotel, and I was in heaven. With Most of the car finished I paid Young the astronomically high bill and then I “spent time” with my airplane buddy.

The next mourning was the moment of truth as I was ready to race SSR5. The car started out horribly as I proceeded to understeer into every corner. A couple adjustments were made and and I was gripping through all of the turns. After I got used to the course and the car I started to push the limits. This resulted in ridding the curbs and bumping out of control due to the stiff suspension. I tweaked the suspension and soon I was gilding over the entire racetrack including the curbs.

My fastest splits so far are

T2: 44.116

After all the hassle’s and underwear scares I do know that I am not the fastest this week in my 602 HP Black Toyota Supra 3.0GT Turbo A ’88. But as I look back at the chaotic week I am glad to have been the underdog as it teaches more car control and makes you tune harder to reach your goals. As to all that participated this week good luck and enjoy the experience I know I did. Now were did I put her number I know it is around here somewhere…

It's overkill I tell ya! The ICS M3 made 1025whp through a 3.5" exhaust... :) Thanks for the storytelling man, gave you a rep click on the first one. I'll just have to post the time I got in my '83 300ZX to give you some competition. I need to take some pictures of it as well, because I definitely wasn't expecting it to look this good...

Actually, I think I'm going to include a few times all in the same post, hope you don't mind Cyril!

Off to play for a very short bit more before work... đź‘Ť

I found my paper. Guess where it was? Inside the Autocar 0-100-0 tests from 2001.

Submitted a clean-but-close 1'xx.497...

Meh, not going to make any improvements at this pace. Submitting my '83 ZX and my '99 N1 times. Thanks for an awesome week Cyril!

Stuck with my Mitsubishi 3000GT in the end and got a reasonably respectable time I think, so I'm submitting that. I had maybe an extra 0.4 on dirty laps but that's another story of course...
Not sure if anyone else is using this car so I may be on my own this time.

Time submitted, didnt have any time to chase those last few tenth's today.

Nice story dude, keep them coming in future weeks, makes a nice change from reading split times.

Ahhh the 4 inch is fur spool up not power, and lets see ICS make that kind of M3 power in GT4, and not real life!! LOL LOL LOL!!

Jokes aside I would enjoy the compationion from your Z31 as I saw a silver one the otherday with a nice sonding exhast hissing down the street if you know what I mean. You don't see to many nice examples around here anymore, just beat up bad runing ones, let alone a tuned one, it was a real treat.

Good luck to all that have not sumitied yet! See you all next race.
